"Should we head back?" Yosuke asked. "I don't think there's much else here."

"Yeah, you have a point." Chie agreed only to frown. "We've been in this place long enough."

"I agree with Chie." Yukiko mentioned. "The sooner we can leave this castle the better."

"I would be more than happy to escort the two of you back to the exit." Teddie offered with a smile. "I don't smell that many shadows either, so I think most of them are gone."

"It's probably because we took care of that king." Yosuke mentioned thoughtfully.

"That's a good point." Yu nodded. "Then again, I have a feeling something else might be going on."

"Huh, what do you mean Yu?" Yukiko asked curiously.

"Where did that shadow come from?" Yu asked. "It felt like it belonged here, but this place didn't exist until Yukiko was thrown inside the TV… so why would a shadow like that just show up out of the blue?"

"That's a good point." Yosuke admitted. "Maybe the shadow took that form because of the castle?"

"Well whatever the reason is I'm just glad we never have to come back here again." Chie pointed out before pausing. "We don't need to come back right?"

"Probably not, let's get out of here." Yu answered as the five of them turned to leave the castle.

"Are you sure Dojima-san?" Adachi asked while they walked into Junes. "I mean, what possible connection could they have to…"

"You know exactly why we need to talk with them." Dojima mentioned. "The details all match, your apparent power to pass into a television, that Midnight Channel and it's timing, and the fact that all three of them are classmates. If nothing else, they might know something that can point us in the right direction."

"I know, but they're your nephew's friends and we shouldn't drag them into this. He has enough to worry about." Adachi pointed out.

Dojima frowned before nodding. "I know, and I want to avoid bringing it up around him. Then again if they do know something that can help us solve the case faster it's worth following this lead."

"Yeah, you have a good point." Adachi admitted before frowning. "I just wish I understood that last clue to the investigation a little better."

"Yeah I know what you mean." Dojima agreed only to look over and notice Yu, Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko walking to the food court. "Well, the sooner we figure out what's really going on the better."

Adachi nodded before they walked over to Yu and the others.

"Huh, uncle is everything alright?" Yu asked in confusion.

"Everything's fine." Dojima mentioned. "Though I wanted to know if I could talk with your friends."

"Huh, wait you're not interrogating us, are you?" Chie asked nervously.

"Don't worry, we don't think you had anything to do with the case. We just wanted to ask you a few things that's all." Adachi explained. "You three don't mind, do you?"

"Of course not, if we can do something to help you and make Inaba a safer place again then we're more than willing to help." Yukiko answered before smiling.

Dojima nodded before turning to Yu. "Sorry to steal your friends."

"It's alright, but you're sure that you can catch the…" Yu started before just swallowing nervously.

"Yeah, I am." Dojima nodded before turning and walking off as Adachi, Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko followed him.

"What did you want to ask us?" Chie asked curiously. "If we can help you so Yu doesn't have to worry then we're more than willing to lend a hand."

Dojima smiled hearing that. "Well, like Adachi said we just want to ask you a few questions about everything that's been going on. For starters, Yukiko Amagi do you remember anything about the time Mayumi Yamano was staying at your family's inn?"

Yukiko frowned. "You think someone at the inn had something to do with what happened?"

"It's nothing like that, we're just trying to piece together a timeline for the two victims and see if there are any common details." Adachi clarified. "A time, or maybe some kind of pattern that can help us get one step ahead of the one behind all of this."

"I see, well I can't think of anything unusual." Yukiko answered. "Well, the rain kept anyone from enjoying the hot springs if I'm remembering right."

Dojima nodded. "It's difficult to enjoy a hot spring when it's raining."

"Exactly." Yukiko agreed. "Still, I don't think anything unusual happened."

"Well, thank you for your help anyway miss Amagi." Adachi mentioned.

"Was that all you wanted to talk with us about or…" Chie started only for Yosuke to look down.

"You wanted to ask if anything happened when Saki-sempai was killed didn't you?" Yosuke asked.

"I know it's hard to remember, but if there's anything you can think of it could really help us." Adachi mentioned.

Yosuke was quiet for a few moments before nodding. "I think… the day she didn't come into work it was raining. Maybe that's the connection."

"Two times could be a coincidence, but it's something we can look into." Dojima nodded. "We appreciate your cooperation."

Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko nodded before walking out of the station.

Once they left Adachi turned to Dojima. "Then that confirms it, everything fits together."

"Yeah, the only question is how to catch the one behind all of this before he kills anyone else." Dojima nodded while closing his eyes.

"We will Dojima-san, don't worry." Adachi reassured him. "Plus, now we have a way to let Shirogane know about the weather which could point us towards a possible perpetrator."

"Maybe, but I can't shake the feeling things are a lot more complicated." Dojima admitted thoughtfully. "It almost makes me wish those thieves were the most complicated thing we had to deal with."

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Adachi agreed. "Still, we have a pretty solid lead. Maybe I should see if there are any clues in there?"

"Not yet Adachi, after all we don't fully understand why you can pass through." Dojima pointed out. "And if whatever's waiting there is connected to these murders somehow, I'd prefer to be prepared than to lose my partner on a wild goose chase."

Adachi shuddered at the thought. "Yeah, you have a point Dojima-san."

Yu was walking to the grocery section before pausing and taking out his phone to make a call.

"Hello, Dojima residence." Nanako answered.

"Hi Nanako, it's me." Yu smiled. "I was just wondering if there was anything special from Junes I could get for dinner tonight."

"You're at Junes? Lucky." Nanako mentioned. "Um… can we have sushi?"

"Sushi, sounds delicious I'll go pick up some." Yu said with a smile.

"Oh, but can you get it without wasabi please?" Nanako requested.

"No wasabi? I'll get some without it for you." Yu mentioned. "See you at home Nanako."

"Ok." Nanako replied cheerfully before hanging up.

Yu smiled at that before putting his phone away. "Alright, sushi it is."

With that thought in mind Yu walked over to the sushi section only to notice Naoto was there as well looking over some of the sushi himself before noticing him.

"Well, this is certainly a surprise." Naoto noted. "I wouldn't have expected to see you here."

Yu couldn't help but chuckle. "At Junes?"

"Fair point, it does make sense you and your friends would be here." Naoto admitted. "Actually, I believe I saw them leaving with your uncle and Adachi-san."

"Yeah… my uncle thinks they might be able to help since Yosuke found Yukiko and the first incident was at the Amagi Inn." Yu explained. "He said they're not suspects though."

"I see, that would make sense considering the circumstances." Naoto noted. "Though if you're willing, I would like to ask you something about the incident."

Yu froze slightly at that before swallowing nervously. "What is it?"

Naoto frowned. "My apologies, I simply was referring to how it may help us narrow down the potential suspects and ensure there are no other victims. I don't intend on forcing you to relive painful memories."

Yu shook his head. "It's… if I can do anything to help, I'll try."

Naoto nodded at that. "Well, to be simple I'd appreciate any information related to the incidents from your past."

Yu froze at that before starting to tremble in fear. "The…"

"Narukami-san, my apologies I didn't mean to bring up painful memories. If it's too difficult forget I mentioned anything." Naoto mentioned quickly. "I'm certain that if your uncle, detective Adachi, and I continue to cooperate everything will be fine."

"Sorry, I wish I could be more help but…" Yu started only for Naoto to shake his head.

"It was irrational of me to assume you could calmly relive such devastating events." Naoto interjected. "I should be on my way."

Yu just nodded as Naoto walked to pay for his sushi leaving Yu to find some to buy himself.

"Oh Shirogane." Dojima noted seeing him walk into the police station only to frown. "What's bothering you?"

Naoto turned to him. "Your intuition serves you well Dojima-san, I feel somewhat guilty for neglecting to consider your nephew's feelings."

"Yu, did something happen to him?" Dojima asked. "Is he alright?"

"I believe so, I attempted to ask if he recalled anything from the incidents in his past to see if there was any correlation with the current case." Naoto explained. "However, I should have given more thought to how those events would affect him even now."

Dojima sighed. "It's alright, I'll head home and check on him. In the meantime, there is one other possible lead. A rumor that links all three victims."

"A rumor, I doubt that will be any help in this case." Naoto pointed out. "We should focus more on…"

"Actually, this rumor might be worth looking into." Adachi mentioned as Dojima walked out. "Considering all three victims; Mayumi Yamano, Saki Konishi, and Yukiko Amagi were all connected to it."

Naoto's eyes widened slightly hearing that. "What kind of rumor is that?"

"It's called the Midnight Channel, from what we've learned certain people appear on a television set during rainy nights at midnight." Adachi answered. "It wouldn't be anything to look into, except that the victims all appeared in the order they were kidnapped."

"I see, and yet Yukiko Amagi wasn't killed." Naoto noted thoughtfully. "It may be beneficial to speak with her directly."

"We took that into account, and she's not the one responsible." Adachi explained. "To be honest I have my own idea why miss Amagi survived, the killer must have used her as a distraction to cast suspicion on an innocent victim."

Naoto closed his eyes in thought. "That is a possibility. Still, we still need to look into this."

Adachi nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I agree."

Yu and Nanako were sitting together watching a quiz show when Dojima opened the door and walked in.

"Dad, you're home?" Nanako asked in surprise seeing him.

"Yeah, I thought that with everything going on I should come and see how you two are doing." Dojima answered. "Adachi and Shirogane are still looking into something though."

"Do you really think the three of you can…" Yu started before pausing and looking down. "Everything will work out right?"

"You don't need to worry about that, just leave everything to us." Dojima reassured him before smiling. "By the way, who's doing better at the quiz?"

Nanako smiled. "We're even right now, and they're about to do the last question."

"She's right, Nanako's super smart." Yu chuckled. "After the quiz we were going to have sushi."

"That sounds delicious." Dojima smiled while sitting down before watching as Yu and Nanako turned back to the quiz show.

(Dojima and Adachi have revealed the Midnight Channel's relation to the case to Naoto but haven't revealed Adachi mysterious ability to pass through the screen and are starting to figure out the pattern to the murders. Next chapter another silhouette will appear on the Midnight Channel. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
