Pretty 99: Ikaruga x Yomi IV

It's another beautiful day. Yomi of Homura's Crimson Squad is taking a nice walk in the city after helping out the homeless once again. She's always out to support the slums whenever she can since she was once in the same situation. She once walked in those exact same shoes.

She has even volunteered her help to people in orphanages. People appreciated her kindness and rewarded her efforts with whatever money they could grant to give her, no matter how much Yomi herself insisted that she didn't need a reward.

Of course, the needs of herself and her team did compel her to accept the donations from sheer gratitude for her good labor. She is grateful for that, too. Now, she's taking a break, relaxing after a long day's work.

However, her day of relaxation is short lived when she sees a poor, homeless man in need of money. He's just sitting with nothing to his name except tattered clothes and a bucket in front of him Yomi notices there is barely any money inside that bucket except for a few coins.

The blonde digs into her pocket and whips out her wallet. She has $30 at the very most and she glances over at the poor man. She has no choice, does she? Even if she wants to help out her team, seeing a poor man like this breaks her heart. He needs it more than she and her comrades ever could.

"Here, mister," she says softly as she places her money in the bucket. "Just so you can make do for a bit longer."

The homeless man looks up at the kind blonde. "Oh...can I really have this?"

"It's your lucky day," Yomi says with a gentle smile. "I hope you find some good food to eat. I can tell you need that and much more, but this is all I can do."

"I'm so grateful, miss," he says. "I don't know how to thank you."

"It's alright. I'm just...helping out any way I can." Yomi says as she turns to leave. "Have a nice day."

With that, she walks away. It's sickening...for her at least. Why are people so cruel to the homeless? People more privileged than her have the funds to spare and help those less fortunate.

Perhaps not everyone is a selfish, self-absorbed idiot...but having to see some that are in much need of money and the basic means to live and be happy breaks her heart.

It reminds her too much of when she was in the slums, in that exact same situation, and having to deal with her parents literally dying of starvation...According to Ikaruga, she had wonderful parents that sacrificed everything to have their child be able to live a good life. They gave up everything so she, Yomi, could live and become strong...but it still pains her.

She walks all the way to a local park and sits on a bench, hugging herself. She can't help but get overcome with emotion. She blinks and tears stream down her cheeks at the thought of seeing the homeless suffer by their lack of means to satisfy their most basic needs, or worse...people being cruel to them.

"People...wealthy ones that have...sniff...no care in the world..." She wipes a few tears as she starts to cry softly.

"Yomi-san...?" A familiar voice says from her right.

"Ah...!" The blonde quickly wipes the tears and looks up to see her beloved girlfriend standing there, still clad in her Hanzo Academy uniform.

"Were you crying? What's the matter?" she asks.

"Ah...ah..." Yomi doesn't know what to say. Ikaruga saw her crying. "W-well, ummm..."

The Class President sits beside her and pulls her close. "Yomi-san...it's okay. You can tell me anything."

The blonde returns the embrace, crying softly. "I'm so sorry. The sight of homeless people and being reminded of my past...it's too much…"

"Oh, Yomi-san..." Ikaruga gently strokes her hair and kisses her forehead.

The rich girl comforts her for about 10 minutes of silenced broken up by a sniffle, a hiccup, a sob now and then, before the blonde calms down and looks at her beloved.

"Thanks, Ikaruga-san..." Yomi says. "I feel a bit better now."

"That's good. Anyways, I went to look for you and tell you that I'm free for the weekend. Do you want to go on a date?"

Yomi blinks a couple times and then wipes the last bit of tears with a smile. "A date...would be wonderful. I need that, to...keep my mind off of the bad stuff going on around me."

"Great. Because I got the perfect outfits for us to wear on our date," Ikaruga says.

"That's also wonderful. You're...truly the best, Ikaruga-san," the blonde says, her sweet voice still filled with emotion.

"No problem. I will do anything to see your smile again," Ikaruga says tenderly and with determination as she kisses her on the lips.

Later

Ikaruga and Yomi arrive at a Botanical Garden that's filled with beautiful flowers and other amazing plants. Ikaruga recommended this to keep Yomi smiling and look at nothing but wonderful things around her. Having to just walk through the city is a bit boring honestly, so the rich girl set them up to take a nice walk around the very large garden. As for the outfits, Ikaruga bought simple, beautiful one piece dresses with frilly skirts at the bottom. Ikaruga is wearing a strapless dark blue dress with beautiful high heels on her feet while Yomi wears a white sundress with high heeled sandals on her feet.

They walk along the path, looking at daisies, roses, and other amazing flowers and then some sculptures in some areas; classic Greek statues with vines snaking along the marble, even a small pond with a beautiful glossy white statue of a maiden feeding water into it. Yomi observes each and every one of them with a smile, a smile Ikaruga loves to see each and every single day.

"This is amazing, Ikaruga-san!" the blonde exclaims. "Being surrounded by nothing but flowers...I feel like I'm in Heaven!"

"I'm very glad you like this place, Yomi-san," Ikaruga says. "It's a peaceful date for just the two of us."

They hold hands and begin to explore some more. It is then that Yomi notices a pavilion with pink roses surrounding it.

"Ikaruga-san, what is that?" she asks, pointing to it.

"That's for couples young and old," Ikaruga answers. "They go there when they want to have a romantic moment together. Affection is encouraged~"

"Really? Can we go there today~?" Yomi exclaims.

"Of course." the rich girl nods in reply. "But it's nearly lunch time, so we'll step in it together after we eat, okay?" Ikaruga says with a smile, wink and raised index finger. Yomi's eyes seem to sparkle and she gives an eager nod.

"Alright~"

"The cafeteria is this way. Follow me," Ikaruga says, gesturing her hand forward.

Yomi goes with her girlfriend toward the little building that's next to the entrance of the gardens. There are large rectangular tables outside with big roofs over them for shade. There are a few people eating lunch right now and they are taking orders from the little window from the cafeteria building. Ikaruga and Yomi order some sandwiches and chips with juice to go with them. It's simplicity itself, but there's wonder in that. They take a seat at a small round table for two and begin to eat.

"This food is amazing!" Yomi exclaims. "The ham and cheese are yummy!"

"I'm glad you like it, Yomi-san~" Ikaruga says simply.

The two eat their food in silence, letting out lyrical giggles every once in a while. Before long, they finish their food, clear out their dishes and head toward the pavilion as promised. However, before they step foot toward it, they notice two familiar people just exiting said pavilion.

"Onee-chan...our love...our bond has..." Murasaki says.

"It has bloomed even more, bloomed beautifully like a fresh new flower~" Imu replies with a smile and confidence that make her sweet little sister blush deeply and swoon.

"No way!" Yomi exclaims. "Murasaki-san and Imu-san? I never knew incest was a thing."

Ikaruga giggles. "You've known them for a while and you just noticed?"

"Um...I have never really talked with them that much," Yomi admits. "But I have to say, they do look cute together."

"So do we~" Ikaruga says with a wink, taking her by the hand and squeezing gently. "Come on, our love will bloom as much as those two."

The two couples approach each other and say hi to one another, share a nod, before leaving. Murasaki looks back for a moment before turning toward her older sister, now girlfriend.

"They look...stunning..." she says softly.

"I have to agree. They really do," Imu says, gently squeezing her little sister's hand.

Ikaruga and Yomi take a seat inside the pavilion and notice a bouquet of roses on a small table in front of them. Yomi takes a rose and smells it.

"Smells wonderful~" She sighs with bliss.

Ikaruga holds up a finger and goes over toward one of the roses to pick one off and carefully place it in Yomi's beautiful blonde mane.

"Eh? What's that for, Ikaruga-san?"

"Because I love you very much~" Ikaruga says. "My gift to you."

"Then, I shall return the favor~" Yomi gently plucks a rose and expertly weaves it into her girlfriend's hair. "Now we match~"

The two share lyrical giggles and scoot a bit closer. Their hands brush and immediately, almost on pure instinct, their fingers become gently intertwined. They gaze into each other's eyes, smiling.

"This is the best day of my life," Yomi says. "Thank you very much, Ikaruga-san. Like always, you make my day."

"I'm always happy to make your day pleasant," the rich girl says. "You're my girlfriend, remember? No matter what, I want to see you smile."

"Ikaruga-san~"

The two lean in and share a passionate, loving kiss. They tilt their heads to get a better angle and their tongues caress one another with soft moans coming escaping past their sweet lip lock. When they pull away, they share some giggles and nuzzle each other's noses.

"Our love has bloomed even more...~" Ikaruga whispers.

"Indeed~" Yomi agrees. "It has bloomed like the flowers all around us."
