Harry Potter: Faerie Blessed

Chapter 4

So we'll now be moving onto Hogwarts. Unlike my other story, I'll be taking some different paths in my writing choices based on some of the feedback I received and inspiration I got from other fics.

Enjoy.

Several years passed since Harry started living amongst the Old Folk in their Forests, and the scrawny boy that had been taken in by the Fae was no more. Thanks to his Elven Diet and the training he received from them and the Dwarves, Harry had developed a toned body with well-defined muscle that was still not overly bulky. He had become quite adept in the art of the sword and the bow and had even learned the basics of using the Nature Magic that the Elves and the Fae used. It was during one of these sessions on the week of his Eleventh Birthday that a surprise visitor arrived with a parcel that would change his life forever.

Harry was meditating in a clearing when an Owl suddenly flew over him, dropping an envelope on his head. Picking it up, he inspected the address on it and his eyes widened at what he saw.

"What do you have there Harry?" asked Arya as she walked up. Being a Fae, the immortal Faerie looked exactly as she did when she had first met the young boy in that playground, and had taken up the role of surrogate sister of sorts.

Unable to say anything due to the shock, Harry simply opted to hand her the envelope, showing her the address listed on it.

Mr. H. Potter,

Forest Clearing

Faerie Kingdom

"This letter…" said Arya, "how could anyone know of us? This will have to be brought to the Queen's attention."

Soon, Harry found himself kneeling before the Faerie Queen once again as she inspected the letter that had arrived for him.

"How was a letter from the human world able to reach us Your Majesty?" asked Arya from her place by Harry's side.

"How was this letter delivered Young Harry?" asked Titania.

"An owl just flew by and dropped it off," said Harry, "it kind of fell on my head."

"I see," said the Faerie Queen, "it seems that the human magical community uses animals to deliver messages these days. We do not restrict animals from entering our borders, for they are innocent beings of nature, so that must be how their letter got through."

"The letter was sent to me though," said Harry, "I mean, I've been learning magic here, but why would the human magical community contact me?"

"It's of no surprise," said Titania, "you were always special Harry. When we brought you into our lands, we knew there was the spark of magic within you. That is why you were able to learn our skills despite being human. Now, perhaps you should open the letter?"

Harry nodded and did so, reading what was on the parchment inside.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Dear Mr. Potter,

"A school for Witches and Wizards?" said Harry in surprise.

"So the school still stands," mused the Queen, "how interesting."

"You knew about it?" asked Harry, getting a nod from her and Arya.

"The school was founded in the days not long before we sealed our borders," said Arya, "the four Founders were rather cordial people, and the grounds surrounding the school became a sort of haven for many of the races that did not retreat from the human world. It's a pity they fell prey to their human mortality."

Pulling out a second page from the envelope, Harry began to read through the First Year Supply List, but Titania interrupted him by clearing her throat.

"Perhaps you should send a message back?" offered the Faerie Queen with a faint smile, causing Harry to rush and find something to write with. As he rushed off, Arya turned toward the Faerie Queen with a troubled expression.

"Your Majesty," said Arya hesitantly, but the Queen smiled gently and shook her head.

"I know you have grown attached to him, young Arya," said the Queen, "but you must remember that, for all that he has learned of and adapted to our ways, young Harry is still human. There are things that he can only learn from others of his own kind."

"I am just worried," said Arya, "his last experience with other humans was not pleasant in the least."

"I can understand you concern," said the Faerie Queen, "but, as he himself has shown us, not all humans are like the ones we sealed our borders to escape from. We cannot keep him sheltered here all his life, and perhaps attending school with more of the Magical Folk would be good for him. Besides, Hogwarts has always been a place where the Old Folk and the humans have had a cordial relationship, with the forest bordering the grounds being the domains of one of the tribes of Centaurs that remained when the borders were sealed."

"I understand, Your Majesty," said Arya with a bow.

"Good," said Queen Titania, "now, be sure to inform Lady Arachne that we shall be needing her to weave his school robes and hat and find that old archivist Solum and see if he can procure the books Harry will need."

"As you command," said Arya before heading off into the woods. Once she had gone, Queen Titania sat back on her throne and accepted a glass of flower nectar that an attendant had offered her. As she looked over the letter again, she couldn't help but think to herself about the boy they took in and how he has grown.

'When we sealed our borders all those years ago because we had grown disgusted with the way the humans selfishly treated the world around them,' mused the Faerie Queen, 'yet centuries later, we meet a human who so brilliantly radiates a pureness we haven't seen in eons, and we take him into our care. Where the tides of fortune take us, no one can know. Will they next lead us towards joy or woe?'

Sorry for the short chapter and sorry for the long wait for an actual update, but I'm back, and I'm looking to continue things here.
