"MIKA"

I smile at her as I fall from the castle. I can see her jump desperately trying to reach me before I hit the water.

Her hands are there, almost there, almost touching mine. But I draw back and I watch as tears escape her eyes.

"I love you, Ezaeur" I mouth before I hit the sea. Hands, claws, and other things start pulling me down.

I had heard myths, legends, and rumours about the "Decaying Sea" and how it saps you of your will and you would be stuck in an eternal hell. But it couldn't be a hell, I had her by my side. Even if eternity was to pass, I would have felt her love.

Even if her love wasn't meant for me.

I could see her, hovering over head her cries and her rage a thick miasma above the water. I wish I could wipe the tears away from her face. How I wish I could still kiss her and tell her that it wasn't her fault.

I love her.

It was as simple as that. She loves me, and I love her back. But I know she wouldn't be happy with me. I knew that she would be sadder with me. Even if my heart hurts and my mind clouds, I know that she would be happier.

I turn back and willingly sink to the bottom, where I find him in a small ball, surrounded by a pure white shield. My hands rest on the surface, stirring the sleeping angel-demon hybrid from his rest.

He slowly opens his eyes and sits up, his face filled with confusion.

"I came here to save you" I manage to say, a smile on my face. He tilts his head in confusion and to his surprise the bubble starts to float.

"What are you doing?!" he slams his fist on the walls when he realized what I was doing.

"She loves you more than me, and I didn't want her to be sad"

His face goes blank, and his bubble was already too far for me to see. The darkness was already pulling me down.

"Thank you" I head him whisper before I slowly felt my consciousness being drained away. It is cold, so very cold. But for her, I'd do anything.

"Saero?" her voice was weak, and filled with disbelief. The demon quickly flew to his bubble and managed to impale her claws into it, lifting and placing it onto shore.

The bubble soon popped and the aforementioned demon stumbled out.

"My lady" he managed before she hugged him. She burrows her face into his shoulder and cries.

"I-i-i " she stammered and all he did was hug her tighter.

"The human, she saved me" he said, disbelief and relief in his voice.

She sobs even harder before pulling away. Her wings disappearing and her skin pale.

"My lady, please let me help you" he tries to give her energy, but finds himself with none.

She shakes her head before pulling her knees closer to her and sitting in a fetal position.

"I lost her"

"My lady, you have me"

"I lost her"

"My lady?"

"I love her, Saero"

"I know"

"I love her so much, she is a part of me"

"..."

"I lost her Saero, I lost the one I loved"

Saero takes a deep breath and lays on the sand.

"I love you, My Lady"

She looks at him before staring off into the sea.

"I know"
