Never thought this fic would ever see an update. The spark came from a difference in opinion like that is called.

It's sad that when you are online, you find stereotypes and that they're confirmed. It looks like some things exist for a reason.

Also, this is not set in the current line of chapters that I had so far.

Also an Iceberg chapter so just a heads-up.

Neptune sat back on the pier with a rod in his hands. He turned his head to see the group he spent so much time with.

Team RWBY, four girls they met in Beacon. How much they have grown over the years. It all seemed so damn long ago.

Same can be said about the team JNPR. How they got Pyrrha back, Neptune had no idea and he didn't want to know.

Sitting back, the rod was in the sea. In no way, in hell, he would go even near the water. He had some fear of the blue stuff despite all things. The irony wasn't lost on him. He had aquaphobia. Yeah, he got that alright.

It was why he didn't join the group in playing. Shaking his head, he just sat back and enjoyed the feeling of the air.

"Hey." Turning his head, he found one girl standing that he wouldn't have guessed. Weiss Schnee. His…

Well, his…

He had no clue what they were. Friends? Most likely.

Something else. Yeah. But what? Good question.

"Hey yourself." The woman, that is what she could be called, was wearing a pretty modest swimsuit. A one-piece in light blue with a pink ribbon around it. "You're not going to join?"

Neptune shook his head and went back to the fishing. "If I had the guts for that, I'd join. But we both know why I haven't done that."

Weiss looked at the guy so she did a logical thing. She joined the man and sat next to him.

"You're okay? Like this."

"Like this. I am fine. But closer. I'd shut down. Pretty pathetic." Placing a hand over his, she could see how he tensed up but relaxed after it. Weiss shook her head.

"It's not pathetic, Nep. We both got our fears. If I tell you that I was afraid of my father, you'd say the same."

Calling it a hunch, Neptune decided to be a little bold and wrap an arm around her body. Pulling her closer, there was a part that he enjoyed about her.

"Weiss, that isn't the same. You'd be afraid of your father because of what the guy did, that is not abnormal." She smiled.

"My team would disagree. Especially after well. All that happened."

"Snow Angel. You were afraid of what your dad did to you. It's kind of what happened to me. Illogical but when you hear the story, you understand." Weiss waited and nodded to Neptune to continue.

"Tell me. I got through it via my Team and I think I might help you with this one." The blue-haired guy sighed but if he was going to lay his soul bare, Weiss might be the right one.

"It happened about let's see. Fifteen years ago. I lived in a small village in Mistral. Quiet home, me, my parents, and my sis."

"I didn't know you have a sister."

"Kinda wanna keep it like that. Okay?" She nodded at him.

"Well, the place was pretty rainy. If it rained 300 days in one year, it'd be called a dry year to give you an idea." She giggled when she heard Neptune's dry tone.

He himself cracked a smile.

"Well, the place was one thing. But to get to school, I had to go on foot. On route to the city, there was a huge barrage dam built. Place was needed to keep the water afloat so that the villages underneath, where I lived, would be submerged. I never knew the details but."

Weiss had read many emotions in people's eyes. The only time she had seen such raw sorrow was when Jaune lost Pyrrha and when he faced Cinder.

From all of them, that guy had come a long way but he walked the toughest road.

"Well, you can guess what happened," Neptune asked her while he could feel some weight lifting.

"Yeah, I can. The dam broke."

"Yep. I lost everything. My mother, my father, my house, my dog. I mean. I got a lot in common with Sun. Being orphans is one thing. We lost our parents in such a different way. The only thing is my sis. But I haven't seen her in years." Neptune closed his eyes and looked at the sky.

"Well, that isn't the most important thing. What caused me to develop a fear of water is that disaster. I was walking on the dam when it broke. I got out just on time." Weiss had one shocked look at her face.

"I don't want to tell others. Not after what happened. But it's something that I kept. So now you know."

Neptune was trying to catch one fish but it got away.

"Sides Sun, you're the only person who knows. Please keep that in mind." She smiled at him.

"Don't worry, my lips are sealed." Neptune wanted to say thanks but found his own lips being cut off by hers.

Yeah, those were definitely sealed.

Kinda inspired by some stories and well. Some stuff I'd like to write out.

Just to clarify, I don't think I'm going to write a lot of RWBY any time soon. This is just some bits I wanted to get out.

If there is a requester that would like to ask for it, I might be tempted to do it.

I did have one question about Huntsman Recon RoseGarden but as with my other fics, that is on hold.

I wanted to write some bits out but besides that, I got some impending requests going. I should probably bring some over to AO3.

That's about all. I just wanted some bits out tonight.

Saluut.
