Here we go! Nice mega long chapter to make up for the long wait!
Regina looked up at the house in front of her, unsure of what she was going to do. She knew she should have gone to Tink and asked to stay with her, but she had found herself going somewhere else. Her mother certainly wouldn't approve of this, then yet again she hadn't cared to inform her daughter about the new arrangements back home.
Why should she have to share her room with someone else? How was that fair when Marian had a room to herself, they were the intruders and if they had to be there, they could at least share a room and not encroach on her space. How could her mother have let this happen, why would she just invite strangers to live with them? How long exactly had she been seeing Leopold? She had certainly kept it to herself, Regina had no idea that she was dating, never mind it being that serious.
She sighed to herself before walking up the garden path and knocking on the front door. She could feel herself beginning to well up as someone fiddled with the lock before opening it. "Hi what're you doing here?" he grinned before his face fell, "hey, Gina, come here, what is it?" Robin asked, wrapping his arms around her as she burst into tears and buried her head against his shoulder.
"Come on, come inside," he pulled back, taking her hand gently and tugging her inside with him, locking the door behind them. "What happened? Did your mom do something to you?"
"No, not as such," she whispered as Robin led her up the stairs and into a room she guessed was his. The walls were painted in a pale blue and there were different movie posters stuck up all around.
"Shall we sit on the bed?"
"Yes," Regina nodded, sitting down beside him. He leant back against the headrest and pulled her into his arms, hugging her close. She melted into his embrace, feeling instantly comforted by him, loving the way he took care of her.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"My mother decided to move her boyfriend and his family into our home whilst I was away. I didn't even know she was seeing anyone and now I have to share my bedroom with one of his daughters."
"Seriously?"
"Yes, and it's Marian. Marian and Mary Margaret," she huffed.
"Wait, you mean the Marian that has been a bitch to you since freshman year?"
"One and the same," Regina sighed, playing with the hem of his shirt. Her mother hadn't even tried coming after her, it was as though she didn't care anymore, though Regina supposed she had a new family now, why would she bother with the daughter she had before.
"Shit."
"Exactly."
"Well, you are more than welcome to stay over here as long as you'd like."
"Really?"
"Of course," he grinned, "I'd been more than happy to have you here." His fingers brushed gently over her cheek as he leaned in, taking her lips in a chaste kiss. "I do think you probably need to talk to your mother at some point though."
"You're right," Regina groaned. He was, she just didn't want to, she wanted to avoid the situation for as long as possible. There was no way she was going back home whilst there was someone else sleeping in her bedroom. What happened to the other spare rooms, why wasn't she taking up one of those, there was enough space for her to have her own room, it was ridiculous. "Though right now I think I'll give it a miss."
"Did you even bring your stuff?"
"No, I just left."
Robin shook his head at her before standing from the bed and walking over to his closet, "here's a towel and a shirt. The bathroom is just down the hall if you want to take a shower."
"Thanks," she smiled, taking them from him. She had been tempted to joke around with him but wasn't in the mood for it. She couldn't even muster the energy for her usual sarcasm, she was just ready to curl up in his arms and go to sleep, the events of the day had drained all her energy and she wanted it to be over. To be honest, a nice warm shower would be nice, but she could think of a way it would be even better, "I don't suppose you want to join me, do you?"
"Do you even need to ask?" he grinned, coming closer to her, his fingers tucking under her chin, tilting her head so she met his eyes.
"How is it possible that I have missed you so much in the hour we've been apart," she breathed, her arms coming to wrap around his neck as she pressed herself against him. He was such a comfort to her and she really needed some of that right now.
"Well, I'm not sure, but I missed you too. So, shall we go and get acquainted with my shower? I promise it's even better than the one at the farmhouse."
"Lead the way," she chuckled, kissing him briefly before pulling away and picking up the towel again.
They were just about to leave the bedroom when there was a knock on the door, Regina looked to Robin and he shrugged his shoulders before opening it to reveal a woman with a silk scarf wrapped around her head, she looked pale but beautiful none the less, her blue eyes matching Robin's.
"I thought I heard voices."
"Yeah, sorry. Mum this is Regina, Regina this is my mum Caroline."
"So lovely to meet you Robin has told me a lot about you," she smiled trying not to get emotional. She knew how sick the woman was and it reminded her of how her own father had passed away.
"You're very kind dear. Robin, you didn't tell me you were having a friend over," the woman grinned, raising an eyebrow at her son in a playful manner.
"Um, about that. Is it okay if Regina stays with us for a little while? She's having a couple of issues at home."
"Oh, I'm sure that won't be a problem, we have a lovely guest bedroom."
"I don't think she'll be needing the guest room mum, it's fine she can…"
"Robin she isn't one of your junior school friends who were happy sleeping on an airbed on your floor, she can have the guest room."
"Not what I meant."
"Well, what did you… oh. Oh! Oh my, just exactly how friendly are the two of you?" she asked, looking from one to the other. Regina was worried that she might kick her out now she knew that they weren't just friends, what if she didn't approve of them sharing a bed? If that were the case, she doubted that Robin would have mentioned it, he wouldn't have risked that.
"Regina is my girlfriend mum."
"Oh, my goodness, I didn't think the day would come when Robin would finally have a girlfriend. He was so hung up on one girl at school, gosh he was in love with her for years but seemingly she didn't notice him. I thought he would never move on from her. What was her name again? Rachel was it?"
"No, not Rachel." He groaned. Regina watched him, seeing his cheeks tinge pink, she thought it was funny but she also wanted to know who this mystery crush was.
"Rebecca then?"
"Nope."
"I swear it began with an R," the woman huffed before looking at Regina and her eyes widened, "wait a minute. Regina."
"Yes?" she was nervous, didn't know how to react, exactly what was happening?
"You finally noticed my boy then," Caroline grinned, "I told you that you'd win her over eventually. Well, I'm happy for both of you, but I have treatment in the morning so I should be getting to bed. Sleep tight and be safe," she patted her son's cheek lovingly before retreating to her room, leaving them both stood there in shock.
"So, you weren't lying about having a crush on me since freshman year."
"No, I wasn't lying. Pretty sure I already told you I had a crush on you forever."
"Yeah, but I didn't know you had told your mother about it, I thought it was your little secret," she smiled softly, leaning closer to him. "I still can't believe you didn't just ask me out earlier, I would have said yes you know."
"Like I said, I was too nervous, I didn't want you to reject me."
"Wow," Regina laughed, leaning into press her lips to his, "how about that shower?"
"Sounds like a plan."
One satisfying shower later and they were cuddled up in bed, Regina's head snuggled into the crook of his arm as he ran his fingers through her hair. "As much as I hate the fact that I have those people living in my house I guess I'm glad that I got an excuse to come over."
"Have you told your mother where you are?"
"I told her that I was staying at Tink's, I think she may have marched over here and dragged me back home had she known," Regina shrugged. There was not a chance that she was going to tell her mother that she was staying over at a boy's house, she wouldn't stand for it. "Don't worry, Tink will vouch for me. I'll go around on Monday before school and grab some things I think."
"Sounds like a plan," he hummed, pressing his lips to the top of her head. "So actually, speaking about school. First day back on Monday, seeing everyone."
"Don't remind me, I'd rather we be able to stay in here all day and not leave," she sighed, turning in his arms so that she could press her face against his chest, "your bed is really comfy you know."
"I do know."
"You're comfy too," Regina giggled, kissing his chest as she closed her eyes and shuffled against him, his thigh firmly lodged between her legs, pressing against her sex. "Hmm."
"Are you being naughty right now?" Robin chuckled, his hands sliding over her back before slipping under his shirt, brushing over the swell of her bare ass.
"Do you want me to be?"
"Don't I always."
She ran her tongue over her lips before reaching for the hem of the shirt she was wearing and pulling it over her head, dropping it to the ground, leaving her completely bare. "Well then, I suppose a little stress relief can't hurt."
"How far are we going?" he asked, shuddering below her as his eyes met hers.
Regina rose an eyebrow at him before finding his hand with her and pulling it between her legs, "just as far as we've been before. Is the door locked?"
"Yeah."
"Good."
On Monday morning Regina stood in front of her house, biting down on her bottom lip, there was about an hour before school started and Robin had driven her home to grab some of her stuff. He was sat in the car waiting but she found herself stopping still at the front gate, nervous to go any further. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know if I can do it."
"Why?"
"They'll all be in there," she murmured, looking back at him, she didn't want to have to face them, but she needed her things, she needed some clean clothes for school, currently she was wearing her clothes from Friday with a pair of Robin's boxes instead of her own underwear. Over the weekend she had just been wearing his clothes, but she didn't think that was a good idea if she had to see her mother. "I'll have to face them; my mother will want to talk and I don't know if I can deal with that right now."
"You can, you'll be fine, I'm sure of it. Go on." She didn't move, still standing on the wrong side of the gate. "Do you want me to come in with you?"
"No," she shook her head, "no. I'm going in," she nodded, "any moment now, I'm going to open the gate." Regina tried to psych herself up to do it, she was just about to lift the latch when the front door opened and she quickly jumped behind the hedge, hiding from view.
"Regina, I've been watching you from the sitting room window for the last ten minutes dithering around. Are you coming in or not?" her mother called out, her voice as stern as ever.
Regina swallowed heavily before moving out from behind the hedge and meeting her mother's gaze. The woman was stood in one of her power suits, her heels on and make up immaculate as always. "Good morning," she whispered, opening the gate and making her way up the path towards the older woman who was watching her every move.
"We need to talk about things."
"Damn right we do," Regina hissed as she passed, moving into the house.
"Language Regina! I rose you better than that."
"Sorry," she huffed, moving up the stairs towards her bedroom with her mother hot on her heels.
"Well, can was talk now?"
"I have school."
"School doesn't start for an hour."
"Yeah well…"
"Stop right there."
Regina froze in place on the top step at the tone of her mother's voice and turned to look at her.
"Sit."
"Here?"
"Sit down."
"Fine," she huffed with a roll of her eyes as she sat on the step, her mother was a few down which meant that they were face to face. She was determined not to show her nerves, but the fact that her mother had already seen her reluctance to come through the gate proved that she was worried and her mother already knew that.
"I think I owe you an apology."
"What?" Regina asked, her eyes widening as she stared back at her. She didn't think her mother had apologised to her in her entire life, so to hear it now was a little shocking.
"I should have told you I was seeing someone. I didn't want to upset you; I know how much you still miss your father. I thought if you knew that I found someone else you would be upset."
"I'm more upset that you didn't tell me. Daddy has been gone for eight years now, you're allowed to move on," Regina sighed. As much as she hated it, she knew it was the truth, it was unfair for her to ask her mother to be alone forever, especially when she would be moving out to University in a matter of months.
"Yes, well. As for them moving in here, it wasn't planned. Leopold's landlord ended their tenancy unexpectedly and they needed somewhere to stay, so I suggested they stay here."
"I see, and my room?"
"Mary Margret will no longer be staying in there. It was only a temporary measure anyhow; the other spare rooms were filled with furniture from their house which needed to be sold."
Regina nodded, that all made sense actually, when hearing it out loud, it made perfect sense. She felt a little guilty that she had just left like she did, she hadn't really given her mother a chance to explain properly before she had flown off the handle. With a small sigh, she nodded, "okay."
"Will you be coming home now?"
"I suppose," she agreed. She didn't know why she was hit with a sudden burst of bravery, but it happened and she felt the impulse to just say something. "Robin, the boy you met on Friday. He isn't just my friend."
"Oh I know," Cora nodded, "you don't tend to hold hands or kiss boys who are just friends."
"You saw that?" she asked, her cheeks blushing. She thought that they had been hidden by the bushes outside Robin's house, but seemingly they hadn't been as covered as they thought they were.
"Yes," she chuckled, "so, that boy. He's your boyfriend."
"Hmm, and I know you told me so many times not to get a boyfriend and that I should focus on my studies, but I… he's so perfect. The most wonderful boy you'd ever meet and I promise he won't distract me from anything."
"Just make sure that he doesn't. Also, I paid Tink a visit on Saturday, you weren't there and her mother said that you hadn't been."
"No."
"Well?"
"I was at Robin's."
"I thought as much and I should ground you for telling such lies and not letting me know where you are. However, I think that we have both done things we regret this week, so I will allow it this once. But if you lie to me again Regina, I won't be so lenient."
"Okay," she mumbled.
"Good. Now go get changed before you're late for school."
Regina nodded, standing from the stairs and walking towards her room, she reluctantly pushed the door open, finding that the spare bed that had been placed there had gone as well as everything of Mary Margaret's, including the ugly picture she may or may not have broken. Her mother had clearly made sure to put everything back in place and she was grateful. Her eyes fell to the pink frog nestled on her sheets and she couldn't help the smile that made its way onto her face.
She really did need to get ready for school though, so changed her clothes, pulling on a pair of jeans and a Marina and The Diamonds shirt she bought from a concert she once went to with Tink. With a quick look in the mirror she applied a little makeup before snatching her school bag from the ground and hurrying back outside, not seeing anyone else on her way.
"Where's your stuff?" Robin asked as she climbed into his car and clicked her seatbelt.
"I had a talk with my mum and I think we resolved things."
"Has she kicked them out?" he chuckled.
"Not exactly no. But I have my room back and she told me her reasoning behind everything she did, so…"
"That's good."
"Yeah. Still have to live with Marian, but I'm sure I can do everything in my power to make sure that we don't cross paths."
"Ha, I'm sure you'll be able to do that at family dinners."
Regina's smile slipped from her face as she turned to look at him, "you're awful to say that you know," she groaned, "that would be absolute torture, I don't even want to think about that."
"Come on, we better get to school," he chuckled, leaning over and pressing his lips to hers briefly as he put the car into drive and set off towards the school.
Regina smiled to herself as she looked out of the window for a moment, just listening to the music playing through the radio. It was nice just being around him, she was still getting used to being with him on home turf, it had been different whilst they were away, but now they were back, she was readjusting all over again. Mentally preparing herself for what might happen when they arrived at school together.
"Someone's deep in thought."
She looked back at him; he spared her a brief glance before returning his eyes to the road. "I was just thinking about us."
"What about us?"
"We're dating and the whole school is about to find out in about ten minutes. You're the most popular guy in the school and I'm a nobody."
"You're not a nobody."
"In there I'm a nobody," she sighed, shrugging for a moment before looking out of the front window. "I told my mother we were together you know. This morning."
"You did?" he asked, the shock evident in his tone. She remembered telling him that her mother would never accept that she was seeing someone, she had surprised even herself by letting her mother know about their relationship, so it was no wonder he was shocked. "And?"
"She already knew apparently, saw us kissing on Friday when we dropped you off."
"Shit, really? And she was cool about it?"
"Seemed to be," Regina nodded. It was a little strange that her mother had been so accepting, she had reacted in a way that was so far from what Regina had assumed she would. She was grateful for it, she didn't want to argue about it and no amount of disapproval from her mother would have kept her away from Robin anyway.
"That's great, right?"
"Yeah, really great." The school came into view and she felt a lump form in her throat, it was swarming with students and teachers alike, the outside was already busy in the morning before classes begun, she just couldn't remember it being this busy. Was it busier than usual? She was sure it was. Robin pulled into the car park, driving around for a moment before finding a space and carefully manoeuvring into it.
"We're here."
"Hmm, I see that," Regina breathed. She was extremely close to hyperventilating about this situation, she could feel the panic beginning to rise within her chest. She didn't know if she could do it, everyone would be staring, she knew they would. It would be strange for them seeing him with her, he was so cool and she just wasn't. "Maybe we should bunk off today. What do you think? Play hooky? We could go get ice cream and make out in the backseat," she suggested.
Robin rose an eyebrow at her and leant over the console to cup her cheek, "you're freaking out. Stop it."
"I can't help it."
"Come on," he pressed his lips to hers gently before getting out of the car and moving around to her side, opening the door and leaning inside. "Regina, come on," he offered her his hand.
She stared at him for a moment before unclicking her seatbelt and placing her hand in his, allowing him to help her out. She closed the door behind her, leaning against his car as she took a deep breath.
"There you go, that's the first step," Robin grinned, "I think we might have Chemistry first."
"We do," she whispered, her eyes flitting around to see if anyone was staring at them, it seemed they hadn't been noticed yet, but it didn't mean that it wasn't going to happen. "This is going to be okay, right?"
"It's going to be completely fine," he smirked, leaning in to steal a quick kiss before squeezing her hand and tugging her playfully towards the entrance.
She offered him a blinding smile as she shook her head at him and followed along, clinging to his hand as they came closer to the main doors. People were milling about outside and now she realised that there were a few eyes on them, but she chose to ignore it, they could stare all they wanted, it wasn't going to change anything. She heard someone wolf whistle and chose to block it out, that was until they came into the hallway, bumping into Robin's group of friends who were back from the trip.
"Shit! Well I never, you got balls of steel mate," Will laughed, "congrats though, finally plucked the courage to make a move. Thought I'd never see the day."
Robin rolled his eyes, ignoring his friend as they moved past the guys, all of them hollering after the couple. "Sorry."
"I knew they were going to give us some kind of shit, I was kinda expecting it and that wasn't as bad as I thought it might be," she shrugged. She had thought that their tormenting would have been much worse so was glad that they had gone easy on them. Though to her knowledge Robin had some strong words to share with them after the incident that led to their falling out during the trip.
"I have something on each and every one of them, they wouldn't even dare say anything to you again after the evidence I showed them," he grinned.
"The video of Will and the ice?"
"Yeah and many more," he winked, dropping her hand in favour of wrapping his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. They continued to walk through the corridor, drawing the attention of many people on the way, both of them simply blocking it out, coming to a stop outside their chemistry classroom. "Ready to see Mr Gold again?"
"Oh my god I'd almost forgotten about that," Regina giggled, remembering what the two of them had witnessed from two of their teachers. "Seemingly you haven't."
"How could I? Like I said, scarred for life," Robin grinned, leaning closer to her as the crowd of students waiting to go inside increased. She was almost pressed into his side, her body pulled against his own, not that she minded, she just hadn't realised that she was an exhibitionist before, to be honest, the fact that everyone was seeing how Robin was with her made her excited. He was hers and clearly had no qualms with showing that she was with him. "You're so beautiful, you know that right?" he asked, his fingers moving up to trace her cheek.
She chuckled and shook her head, "I think you might have told me once or twice."
"I don't think I told you this morning and that is a crime, you deserved to be told every day, no, every hour just how gorgeous you are."
Regina was about to respond when the teacher arrived at the classroom, straightening his tie as he fought to unlock the door with one hand. Regina turned to look at Robin and offered him a smirk, "do you see that?"
"What?"
"On the collar of his shirt." She gestured at the light pink mark on the fabric of Mr Gold's shirt and offering Robin a knowing grin. "I wonder what colour lipstick Miss French is wearing today."
"I'm not sure, maybe light pink. That's what I'd guess anyway."
"If she has any left on her lips that is."
"I'm surprised he hasn't got it on his," Robin chuckled, dropping his arm from around her as they followed their teacher inside the classroom, seeing the man wiping at his face and grumbling to himself as he set up his desk. His hair was a mess too and if Regina had to guess, she would have said that the two teachers must have had an impromptu make out session just before class.
"God, how are our teachers worse than us students?"
"I don't know, but I hadn't realised that Mr Gold was such a randy fellow," Robin whispered, offering her a mischievous grin as he found his seat. Unfortunately, they weren't sat beside one another on the seating plan, he was on one side of the classroom and she was on the other. When she looked at the teacher, she realised that the man did have a little lipstick just on his jawline and it made her a little embarrassed for him.
"Okay that's enough now," Mr Gold quipped, clearing his throat as he straightened some papers and looked out over the class, "so as you know last week I was away and apart from those who were also on the trip, you should have had a substitute teacher who went over a couple of pages from the textbook. Today however we will be… Miss Mills, you have a question?" he asked, looking over to her.
She had her hand in the air, she knew she shouldn't be doing this, but she couldn't resist, Robin's eyes widened as she glanced over at him. "I'm so sorry to interrupt sir, but I thought you might like to know that there's something on your face," she quipped, her voice low, hearing the rest of the class gasp and chuckle at her words. She was cringing for him; she couldn't let him give the rest of the lesson with lipstick smeared on his face.
Gold raised an eyebrow at her and she didn't know what he was thinking, she could either get really told off here or he could just ignore her completely. He reached for a tissue and swiped at his face for a moment before turning back to his book. "As I was saying, you should have gone over a couple of pages from the textbook. Today we will be back to doing experiments."
Regina took a breath of relief as she sunk back in her chair, glad that she hadn't been admonished by him for her remark. Around five minutes into the lesson, the person at the desk beside her nudged her softly before passing her a piece of paper, she took it from them and unfolded it, her eyes reading over the words.
Beautiful. You are so fucking crazy and I love it.
She felt a smile creep onto her face as she folded it back up before glancing over to see him looking at her. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she rose her eyebrows at him before turning back to concentrate on what Gold was saying.
The lesson which followed Chemistry was English, but they weren't in the same class. Luckily Regina sat at the back because she found herself distracted, wondering what he might be doing, he had a study period and was probably spending time in the library, that's what he told her that he would be doing. She wished she could be there instead of trapped reading Macbeth. It wasn't that she didn't like Shakespeare, she did, English was one of her favourite subjects, she just found that she couldn't concentrate on the text and kept reading the same line over again.
Time seemed to go so slowly and by the time English was over she felt that she might have aged ten years rather than the two hours it had lasted. She collected her books and headed out of the classroom, she knew where she was going, to the library to hopefully find Robin so they could grab lunch together. However, she was stopped before she even left the department by a certain red-headed teacher who called her name from the doorway of his classroom.
She clicked her tongue and turned to look at him, her eyes narrowing slightly, "Dr Hopper."
"Regina, I feel I awe you an apology for what happened on the trip."
"Maybe you do," she huffed, "you had my mother come and pick me up, knowing that I hadn't really done anything wrong. How was that fair?"
"It wasn't and I realise that now, but you have to understand that…"
"You were the one who forced me to go in the first place and then you send me home."
"You were pushing to be sent home Regina. You didn't want to be there."
"I did! In the end, in the end, I really did want to be there, but you found it fit to punish me sir."
"Well, I am sorry Regina, for overreacting, I worried about your safety and that you might have put yourself in danger, but I realise now that wasn't your intention."
"Fine," she murmured, walking away from him with nothing else to say. Her mood had been a little dampened by the entire conversation, she would rather have not said anything. Stopping at her locker she flung some of the books she wouldn't need inside before picking up the ones for her afternoon classes, slamming the door shut once she had everything she needed.
"Why is your face telling me you just murdered someone?"
An immediate wide smile formed in place of the scowl that had been before as she turned to look at her best friend, the short blonde was grinning at her. "Hi!" she squealed as Tink wrapped her arms around her, hugging her tight and causing her to drop her bag to the ground as she reciprocated the hug, "you missed me that much?"
"God, you left me in school for a week on my own," she huffed, "but oh my god! You have so much to tell me about. It's all around the school, apparently, he drove you here this morning and you came in together!"
"Yep," Regina nodded, bending down to grab her bag as the pair made their way down the hallway with their arms linked.
"And you were at his this weekend."
"Yep," she grinned.
"And?"
"And what?"
"What went down? Or who went down should I say?" the blonde giggled, wiggling her eyebrows at her friend playfully.
"Tinka!" Regina gasped, looking around the corridor to make sure that no one else could have overheard, "we haven't done that yet," she murmured, licking her bottom lip as she thought about all the other things they had done.
"But you've done more than kissing? Right?" she asked, her green eyes shimmering with excitement as she started up at her, clearly eager for all the gossip. "Come on, you had to take advantage of being in a bed with him, please tell me there was something, even if it was over clothes."
"It might have been a little more than that," she whispered, "hand stuff I guess," she shrugged.
"Fuck me!"
"Tink!"
"You let him put his fingers in…"
"Shut up!" Regina groaned, feeling her cheeks heat up as they stopped at the door to the library. It was one thing people knowing that she and Robin were together, but it was another completely them knowing what they go up to in the bedroom, she was only telling her friend these things because they were close enough for her not to feel awkward about it. Well, not too awkward. Maybe a little.
"Why are we going in there? Come on! Let's go get food and you can carry on telling me what else you got up to."
"Actually, how would you feel about someone maybe joining us for lunch?"
Tink's eyes widened as she stared at the door, "oh my god, are we actually going to sit and have lunch with Robin Locksley? I feel as though I just fell through some crazy magic portal and am in an alternate universe. How is this real?"
"Tink."
"I'm serious! It's Robin Locksley, you're dating him, like you're actually his girlfriend."
"Yes I know."
"How are you not freaking out about this?! This is insane."
"Trust me, I did enough freaking out when it first happened," she chuckled, pushing the doors to the library open and heading inside. Truthfully, she still couldn't fully believe it, though she knew it was the truth, it was a little surreal, but in a good way, a really good way. Robin was amazing and so cute and… sitting with Marian.
Regina stopped in her tracks, her friend barrelling into the back of her and making her wobble a little. "Why'd you stop? What… oh hell no. What's this bitch doing?"
"I don't know," she seethed, narrowing her eyes at the girl who was leaning over the table as she talked to Robin, her top low cut, revealing way too much. He was sat as far back in his chair as possible and if Regina had to find a word to describe his posture it would probably be uncomfortable. "But she really needs to put her tits away."
"They're not even that good. Your tits are better than hers." Regina looked at her friend with a raised eyebrow, earning a laugh from the blonde, "what? It's true, you have good tits."
"Thanks, that's reassuring."
"It should be."
Regina shook her head, wetting her lips with her tongue before she started walking again, moving over the table where they were sat. "Well, I hope you got some studying done whilst I was gone," she quipped, catching their attention, both of them turning to look at her, Robin with relief and Marian sporting an expression which suggested that she was thoroughly pissed off.
"Hey baby," he grinned, standing from his chair and moving closer to her, "missed you," he pressed his lips to hers briefly and Regina heard a little squeal from behind her, she turned to see Tink practically vibrating as she looked at them. "Are you okay?" Robin asked, looking at the blonde.
Tink nodded frantically, as though she were a crazy person, "I just… wow, the two of you are just… oh my god."
"Ignore her," Regina rolled her eyes, her fingers coming to his stubble, "so, did you do much studying? Was my step sister to be flashing her breasts at you for the entire hour and a half?"
"Okay, you can quit the charade now Robin," Marian laughed, shaking her head as she came up to them, her hand resting on his upper arm, "it was funny to begin with, but now you're just being cruel to the poor girl, and she is going to be my darling sister, so I shouldn't let you carry on."
Robin sniggered and shook his head, shrugging Marian's hand off as he moved to wrap his arm around Regina, "jealously isn't a good luck on you Marian you know. If you wanted to ask Regina out, you should have beat me to it," he grinned and Regina couldn't help the chuckle that slipped from her lips at the look on Marian's face at the pure rejection she just received. "I mean, you must be in love with her, considering how much you're out to get her. That's normally why people treat people so horribly right?"
"No, she's just a bitch. She's a nobody Robin, why would you want to date someone like her?"
"God Marian, just give it a rest would you, it's really boring," Regina sighed, "move on."
"Are you just a slut then? Does she put out just like that?"
"Come on Gina," Robin scoffed, rolling his eyes as he turned towards the door.
"Wait a minute," Regina shook her head, stepping closer to the other girl and staring her down, her eyes falling to the checked pattern on her shirt, as a smirk made its way onto her face, she rose an eyebrow the brunette.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Marian asked.
"Just remembering something you said to me once, maybe you'd like me to remind you of it. Lesbians wear plaid, not tye dye. Nice shirt," she winked before grabbing Robin's hand and tugging them towards the exit with Tink hot on their heels.
"Holy shit! I can't believe you just said that to her," Tink gasped as they left the library. "This trip really has changed you."
"I don't have time to deal with her bullshit, also she's such a stereotyping bitch."
"That's true, I mean I don't wear plaid that much, do I?" the blonde asked with a chuckle.
"No, you don't," Regina grinned, letting go of Robin's hand and hugging her friend, "although you do look good in plaid."
"I look good in everything,"
Regina chuckled, before looking back to Robin, he was staring at them with a slight smile on his face, "what?" Regina asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"You two are really cute."
"Whoa, calm down, you're not really my type," Tink giggled, "stick with Regina."
"Oh, actually we have something to tell you," Regina quipped as she found Robin's hand again and they entered the dining hall, joining the back of the queue. Regina could tell that her friend was getting impatient by the way she was staring at her, her foot tapping against the floor.
"Come on then, what is it?"
"I'm afraid that your crush is doing Mr Gold."
"She has a crush on Miss French?" Robin asked.
"Really?" the blonde asked, her mouth falling open as she looked at the two of them, "Miss French and Mr Gold? He's old enough to be her grandad."
"Probably more like dad. I bet she has a daddy kink," Regina smirked, "she probably calls him that in the bedroom."
"Eww!"
"Gross."
Robin and Tink looked at her in disgust only for her to offer them a mischievous grin. "You both know its true, I bet Mr Gold is…"
"You bet I'm what Miss Mills?"
Her eyes widened as she looked between her boyfriend and best friend, shit. "Hi sir," she murmured turning around to see the teacher stood right behind her. "I was just going to say that I bet you're a really nice person," she smiled, "and I'm happy that you've obviously found someone special."
"Right, about that Miss Mills, I'd rather you kept that to yourself."
"Of course. I'm sorry about earlier sir. I just didn't want you to be embarrassed," she shrugged.
"Very well," he nodded, going to move away.
"Miss French is really lovely."
He stopped still, turning his head to look at her, "Miss French?"
"Ah… I… I just assumed."
"You shouldn't assume dearie," he quipped, disappearing out of the room.
"Oops," she cringed before grinning at them.
"Like I said earlier, you're fucking crazy," Robin chuckled, playfully pressing his lips to hers.
By the end of the day, Regina was pretty sure that the whole school knew about their relationship. Robin had offered to give both her and Tink a ride home, dropping off the blonde first before pulling up outside Regina's house. She sighed to herself and looked at Robin, sticking out her bottom lip before reaching out to touch his arm, "I wish we could just go back to yours."
"Yeah, well we can't, you've patched things up with your mum, you should probably be staying home."
"I know. Do you want to come in for a bit?" she asked hopefully, "I could show you around my room."
"I suppose I could come in for a while," he nodded, turning off the engine, only for her to propel herself over the console and straddle his lap, her hands resting on his chest. "What are you doing?"
"It's sexy seeing you behind the wheel," she smirked, one of her hand running up to his head, her fingers slipping through his hair. She felt as though she could be bold with him now, she wanted to show him a different side to her, but she was also aware that they were parked up outside her house and anyone could see them. She kissed him, her lips pressed against his as she moaned against his mouth before reaching out with her hand and opening the door and slipping off his lap.
"Come on then, let's go inside," Regina hummed, unclipping his seatbelt before taking his hand and pulling him inside. The house was quiet but her mother's car was in the driveway which was telling her that she was at home somewhere. "Mom I'm home," she called out, not waiting for a response as she tugged Robin up the stairs and into her room. "So, this is my room," Regina quipped, leaning against the closed door before her eyes fell to the bed, "that's the bed," she giggled.
"I see that."
She licked her lips before hurrying over towards the bed and dropping down on it, bouncing slightly as she moved back to lean against the headboard. "Want to join me?"
He brought his bottom lip between his teeth and slipped his jacket off, dropping it to the back of her chair before advancing towards her. It reminded her slightly of the little strip tease he had done for her when she had dared him to a few days ago and she found herself squirming a little where was laid. When he reached the bed his hand slipped to her cheek, stroking it gently before leaning in and claiming her lips, kissing her thoroughly.
It wasn't long before he was on top of her, her hands resting on his shoulder as they made out, Regina meeting his lips with the same enthusiasm. She was aware that they would have to be quiet so tried hard to stop herself from making any noise, but she couldn't help the small gasp that slipped from her mouth as he moved his to her neck. "Robin," she breathed, arching against him, her hands wandering over his back and sliding downwards, pulling his hips even closer to hers as he slowly thrust against her. "Fuck. I want you so badly."
"Me too, but we can't. Not like this."
"I know," she gasped, her fingers slipping under the hem of his shirt, nails raking over his back as she wrapped her legs around his hips. "But I don't want to stop just yet," she smiled, recapturing his lips. She was just about to move her hand to unbutton his jeans when the door burst open. The two of them turned to see Marian standing in the doorway with an evil smirk on her face.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here then? I'm sure mommy dearest will love to hear about what the two of you are getting up to."
Robin moved off from on top of Regina, falling to the other side of the bed, running a hand through his hair, "give it a rest would you Marian," he groaned, catching his breath as he leant back against the headboard.
"We were just kissing anyway," Regina rolled her eyes. She was still concerned anyway, she knew her mother might not see it that way. She was trying to put on a brave face and not show how worried she actually was about her mother finding out that she'd brought Robin into her bedroom.
The other girl just shrugged before heading back down the corridor, Regina sprung off the bed and followed her, racing down the stairs after her as she watched Marian push her way into Cora's office, something she knew her mother wouldn't be happy with.
"Excuse me, please knock first before barging in here," the older woman scolded, looking up and glaring at Marian, something that made Regina want to laugh, but she'd been on the receiving end of that glare enough times to know her mother wouldn't appreciate it.
"Sorry," Marian huffed, "I thought you might want to know that I just caught Regina having sex in her room."
Then she really did laugh, she couldn't help it, it just tumbled from her lips, "if you think that's what sex is you clearly haven't been turning up to your sex ed classes," she giggled. Her mother wasn't laughing though, she was looking at the pair with a raised eyebrow. "I just brought Robin back and we were hanging out."
"See! I told you she had a guy in her room!"
"I already knew that Marian," Cora quipped, rolling her eyes as she looked back down at her papers, "but I don't see how what my daughter does with her life has anything to do with you," she stated, casting her a frustrated frown. "Now, please leave my office and refrain from idle gossip, it isn't becoming," the older woman tutted and Marian sulked away, Regina was about to go also but her mother called out to her, "not you, come inside and shut the door please."
Regina nodded and did as she was told, sitting in the chair opposite her mother, looking up at her nervously. "We're you aware of the mark on your neck?" she questioned, looking up from her papers and meeting her daughter's eyes.
Her hand moved to her skin, covering the place Robin had been kissing earlier, "um…"
"Regina."
"I hadn't realised," she whispered, her eyes looking anywhere but her mothers.
"Hmm," the woman removed her glasses and leant back her chair, stretching out a little. "Now, I know that girl is a little brat okay. However, I think we may have to establish some new rules. I accept that you like this boy and that you want to see him, that I am okay with. What I am not okay with, is the pair of you having sex under this roof. He can come over, stay the night even if that's what you wish, but please to god Regina, do not let it go that far whilst I am in the house."
Regina nodded, it was fair enough, it was certainly better than being told that she couldn't see him at all. It was a compromise and one she was willing to make. "Alright, but we haven't done that," she murmured.
"Speak up."
"I said we haven't had sex. I'm not ready for that yet and neither is he," she quipped.
"Very well, if that's all I am very busy with this paperwork."
"Right, yes," Regina stood from the chair and moved towards the door.
"Oh and Regina?"
"Hmm?"
"When you do and I know it's unavoidable at some point, please be careful."
"Of course," she nodded, feeling a blush spread across her cheeks as she pulled down on the handle.
"Regina?"
"Yes?" Regina stopped once again.
"I do love you very much, I know I don't tell you that enough."
Regina felt a smile spread over her lips as she looked back at her, her mother hardly ever told her that, it was very rare, she was beginning to wonder if the woman was going soft in her old age. She certainly wasn't complaining. "I love you too mom," she beamed, closing the door behind her as she hurried back up the stairs, seeing Marian glaring at her from the doorway of her room, Regina just threw her a smug smirk before disappearing into her own room and closing the door.
"Shit! Was you mum pissed?" Robin asked, moving over to her, a worried expression on his face.
"Surprising not," she shook her head, "she also gave Marian what for," Regina giggled, taking his hand and moving them back to sit on the bed, "are you staying a bit longer?"
"Actually I should be getting back to my mum. I don't like it when she's home alone for too long, she gets tired, especially in the evenings," he sighed, cupping her cheek gently and leaning in to give her a chaste kiss. "I'll see you tomorrow though, okay?"
"Yes of course, you should be there with your mom," she breathed, kissing him once more before going back down with him and seeing him out. "Bye," she waved, leaning against the doorway as she watched him climb back into his car. He blew her a little kiss before driving off. She sighed to herself happily before closing the door and heading back inside. She stopped at her mother's office before knocking on the door.
"Come in."
"Hi, would you like me to start dinner?"
"That would be wonderful, thank you darling," Cora hummed.
"No problem. Maybe I could get to know Leo a little better since he means so much to you, we could all have a meal together."
The older woman smiled and nodded at her, "that sounds like a lovely idea."
"Great, well I'll get started then," she was going to be the bigger person in this situation. If Marian was going to continue being wicked towards her, she was going to be extra nice and win over the rest of the family.
