Lords of the Playlist
Authors note: The Powerpuff girls do not belong to me and as always, they have human appendages.
Greens ages variate between late teens/early twenties.
And now after three years of writing and listening, we are at the end. This has been one hell of a project that I started 3 YEARS AGO TODAY. How fitting is it that I started this story at the beginning of my college program, and I finish it after I graduated? For those who have asked before… yes. I did get the name for this story off of a Bacardi commercial, hilarious as it is. If you are interested in listening to the entire soundtrack – I am working on making it on 8tracks, under the same name. (my username is also the same on there if you're looking for me) I have nothing else to say except for thank you; from the bottom of my heart for reading this from start to finish. It means the world.
This story is dedicated to you – if you have listened to the Green's playlist from the very beginning to the end.
Track 92: Iris – Goo Goo Dolls
"It's funny how things can change despite its history"
It was funny how people changed despite their history.
It was funny how a boy and a girl who originally hated each other and wanted nothing to do with the other when they were children, would end up becoming such good friends, and eventually something even more in their teen years.
It was funny how two people, who were a little more damaged than most, and a little more bitter then some, found a certain familiarity in each other and helped the other grow into a better person from what they were originally.
One was a hero who was beloved by the people she protected, and the other was a somewhat reformed villain with one hell of a temper and a wicked right hook.
It wasn't an easy transition, but then again nothing worthwhile ever was.
But they made it work.
They had their good days, and they had their bad days.
But they understood each other on a level that no one else on the planet could ever even hope to understand, so it made the bad days a little more bearable.
It would be okay, because they had each other. They always had each other.
They were together. They were so much stronger together after all – they could take on whatever the world threw at them and more, and they would come out of it unscathed because they had each other.
They had a special kind of connection with each other that was on a level that their siblings could never hope understand, and that normal people could only dream of having.
They were perched on top of the tallest skyscraper in the middle of the city. Watching as the dark night sky exploded into millions of stars above them, and as the city beneath them slowly began to light up and truly come alive as the city's night life took over.
This was their time. The time when they felt the most powerful. The time where they ruled.
They were legends. Two forces of nature housed in bodies made up by Chemical X. They breathed life into each other, they fed off of each other's energy One could not exist without the other. They had it all. They were everything.
They always would be… they were counterparts after all. Two sides of the same coin.
The man known as The Baron of Berserk to other villains, The Green Rowdyruff to the citizens of Townsville, and just Butch to a certain girl, slowly put his arm across his companion's shoulders. It was a tender gesture, one that he didn't display often, only to her.
The woman known as Mange to some, The Toughest Fighter to the citizens of Townsville, and just Buttercup to a certain boy, looked up at the tall man and wrapped her arm around his broad torso, squeezing him gently. She didn't show this side of her often, only to him.
The man with hair as black as obsidian, grinned lightly at her; eyes glowing dark green as he stroked her cheek with his thumb. The raven-haired woman leaned into his touch and closed her glowing bright green, tilting her head up at him with a soft smile on her red lips.
He bent down and gently pressed his lips onto hers and she didn't stop him, instead she pulled him closer and returned the action with just as much feeling.
They pulled away from each other after what felt like an eternity and smiled, true, genuine smiles that were reserved only for the other. Bight lime eyes meeting dark forest green
They were broken and damaged on the best of days, but that was alright, because they would heal and come out even stronger than before. They were the toughest out of their siblings after all.
The Baron of Berserk and the Toughest Fighter.
Butch and Buttercup.
They would get through it together, just like they always had.
Just like they always would.
They were Lords of the Playlist after all.

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
