At our work office
I saw you with a woman today
"So… who's the lovely girl?" I ask
"I'm sorry?" you reply
"The girl," I say softly, "I saw you and her at that cafe down the road? Who is she?"
"Oh you mean Alice? Yeah, she's my girlfriend."
You smile at the thought of her
"Your girlfriend?"
You nod your head
"She seems… nice" I say
I talked to her once. She's just like you. Tea lover, stubborn, clever, witty, kind to some extent…
Of course you would fall in love with her

Outside my London Apartment
"We're getting married"
You approached me one day, blurting those three words out with such joy
"Married?" I ask
"Yes," She replies, a small smile on her lips. She looks up at you, "Married"
With such… excitement and love
"That's wonderful news..." I say softly
"Isn't it?" You and the woman say at the same time
You both share a loving look
She's perfect for you

St Ann's Church
"–I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride."
The room burst out clapping
I'm at the very back of the church, tears streaming down my face
I'm probably clapping the hardest out of everyone in the room
I dry my eyes with my sleeves
I shouldn't be crying during my beloved's wedding, non?

The Wedding Reception
"Congratulations Arthur," I say
"Thanks Francis! I'm very lucky that someone as wonderful as Alice would ever want to marry me." You reply
"Oh please Arthur, anyone would be lucky to have you as a lover." I say, smiling, "You are a truly lucky woman, Alice."
"Yes. Yes I am," She says, smiling at you
You laugh happily and you pull her into a kiss
The smile falls from my face
I feel something pull at my heartstrings
I excuse myself from the reception
I'm not sure how much longer I can last
I wonder if you could have ever shared the same love you have for Alice, with me
I laugh to myself, shaking my head at the thought
There would be no way you could ever feel anything more than friendship for me
I run out to the open road
"Taxi! Taxi!" I call out
I open the backdoor of the cab and gave the driver the directions to the hotel
I least you're happy
Je T'aime, Arthur
