Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the situation is about to escalate, as Naegi tries to find a way to provide help to the police, someone within the hostages decided to take matters personally…either to save the hostages or make a personal escape for selfish reasons…

Well then…read on and…well, enjoy!

Ch. 14: Naegi wa shubō-sha to deau

Outside the office room, the rest of the hostages, including Maizono and her group, overheard the conversation via a radio that was left unattended by one of the goons, and the hostages, including Maizono and her group, stared wide-eyed at what they just heard, and Satomi gritted her teeth seeing that Celestia is indeed selfish and only wants to escape for herself, while Maizono became shocked that Clesetia had just gave Naegi's identity away and that the teen gambler intended to escape and fend for herself as well as letting the rest of the hostages die at the hands of Munakata.

Moreover, Celestia even exposed Maizono's identity and have her used as a bait to lure Naegi out. Ayaka also agreed that Celestia is really a fool but is surprised when told by Satomi that Celestia will be dead sooner.

"Satomi…what are you…?"

"That gambling bitch is dead."

"How so…?"

"You think those hostage takers are going to let her go that easily?"

"Eh…? You mean…?"

"Yup. I'm guessing that she is about to be killed."

"No…no way…"

"She got her just deserts."

At the office, Munakata raised an eyebrow when Celestia provided the picture of Maizono, and he asks Celestia what good would this do, and she said that she can be a good bait to lure Naegi out, and yet Munakata asks if she can provide the picture of Naegi, which she paused for a bit, realizing that she do not have Naegi's picture and stated that there are ways to lure Naegi out and that the teen boy will be compelled to turn himself in.

"Oh, really now?"

"Yes, kind sir."

"And why did you fail to provide a picture of this Naegi?"

"I only met him earlier…and he can be easily identified…I already told you his description."

"Hmm…"

"Well…?"

"Can you wait for a bit."

"Sure."

Nodding, Munakata took out his radio and homed in on the frequency and called out Naegi, but not addressing him by his name, and as Naegi answered, he was told to surrender himself and bring forth the weapons and explosives that he took, which the teen boy deny, saying that he won't surrender to a scum like him.

However, Munakata made his move and addressed Naegi by his name, saying that he knows that Naegi is just a 16-year old GREENHORN with a RAGING HORMONE and lacked the necessary drive to take down his men and even said that he will make an example of what would happen if Naegi attempted to defy him again, as he made Celestia speak, which she urged Naegi to surrender so that she can leave the building alive.

As Naegi is silent for he is pissed that he deduced that she is the one who gave him away to Munakata, but then he is taken aback when a gunshot sound is heard, and there Munakata told Naegi that this is the result, and he gave Naegi an ultimatum: surrender now or one of the hostages will be next, going far as threatening that Naegi's CLOSEST ONES (which he intentionally did not mention Maizono's name), could be among the candidates, yet Naegi is determined not to give in to the likes of Munakata.

"So, Mr. Naegi…do you feel like surrendering to me?"

"Not a chance."

"Are you really that foolish?"

"Yes."

"What made you think you can defy me?"

"In four words."

"Which are…?"

"Yipee Ka-Yay…you motherfucker."

After that Naegi cuts off the communication, leaving Munakata rather surprised, yet impressed at the grit that Naegi displayed, and he felt challenged that a mere high school boy is posing a threat to his plans, and began formulating a way to outwit him and get the detonators back and resume the plans to carry out what he and his originally intend.

Meanwhile, the hostages shrieked when Sakakura dragged and threw the dead body of Celestia Ludenberg on front of them, a bullet hole seen on her forehead while her eyes remained open though it is already sure that her death was instant, and Sakakura glared at the hostages before heading back to Takagi's office.

There he asked Munakata what will they do now, as Celestia just wasted their time, but Munakata coolly said he came up with an idea on how to get the detonators back, and as Sakakura listened, he expressed doubts that the plan might fail, but Munakata assured that this will work depending on the circumstances and situation.

"Do not worry, Sakakura. I got this."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"You think that the…"

"It will work."

"…"

"I promise we'll get the detonators back."

"Fine."

Meanwhile the other hostages are terrified at seeing Celestia's dead body in front of them and they slowly broke down, giving in as they began screaming for help, oblivious to the fact that they are inside the building and are at the 30th floor.

"EEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKYYYYAAAA!"

"HELP!"

"SAVE ME!"

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

"LET ME OUT OF HERE!"

"SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!"

"ANYONE!"

Meanwhile Satomi and Ayaka are concerned as they wondered if the police are aware of the situation and glanced at Maizono, who is somewhat calm, and there Satomi wondered if Naegi has escaped and went home, which Ayaka defended Naegi, saying he's not that kind of a person who would run off like that.

Satomi disagree and she and Ayaka began to bicker.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure!"

"Big deal! I bet he ran home crying!"

"I don't think…"

"I say he is! "

"Satomi!"

"It's true!"

"No it's not!"

Maizono then smiled and told her two friends to stop arguing and said that Naegi is still here, reasoning that the gunmen are still scrambling and she believes that Naegi is finding a way to get help and save everyone inside the building.

Ayaka smiled as she feels the aura of romance while Satomi expressed doubt that this is the case and said that she still doesn't trust Naegi, prompting Ayaka to have some faith in him, and Maizono tells Satomi that Naegi would never leave her at the time of need.

"Wh-what…?"

"Naegi-kun will save me."

"Are you out of your mind?"

"No, but I know it."

"Seriously?"

"Yes. Naegi-kun is still here."

"O can't believe you!"

"Huh?"

Suddenly Munakata came out of Takagi's office and went out of the room, and Sakakura followed, where he glared at the hostages and fired bullets at the ceiling, which terrified most of the hostages and they screamed out in desperation.

"EEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKYYYYAAAA!"

"HELP!"

"SAVE ME!"

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

"LET ME OUT OF HERE!"

"SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!"

"ANYONE!"

Sakakura then aimed his machine gun at the hostages but Munakata calmed him down and told him to stick to the plan and save his aggression for he'll be needing it later, which Sakakura appeared unwilling at first but is soon persuaded.

"Trust me, Sakakura."

"…"

"Save your bullets for later."

"…"

"We'll be needing them for later."

"…"

"You'll soon get him. I promise."

"…"

After that the two men left while the rest of the gunmen remained to watch over the hostages as the three idol members hugged each other to protect themselves as the situation becomes tenser than ever.

Outside the Nekotami Tower, Inspector Ishimaru was holding the radio, staring in shock, as his radio somehow got the frequency and overheard the conversation as well as what happened inside, in which he was horrified that a first hostage was killed brutally, and that the Mako person he is talking to turns out to be Naegi all this time, and he became worried knowing that the 16-year old boy is facing an incredible odds against ruthless gunmen.

Ishimaru then talked to Naegi and asked him what made him decide to take on the gunmen knowing how fully-armed they are and the experience they have, and Naegi apologized for withholding his identity, which Ishimaru said it is okay, but he cautions the boy to lie low for now, as the gunmen now know who he is.

"Trust me, kid. You need to stay hidden."

"But…"

"Believe me, they now know your name…"

"They haven't seen me, so I'm good."

"This isn't a Super Sentai show. We're talking about the real thing here…!"

"I know. I took out seven gunmen and alerted you."

"You know, Naegi-kun…you sure have the guts…but there's a limit…hey!"

"Huh?"

However, the police chief turns off the radio and tells Ishimaru to stop ENTERTAINING a TROUBLEMAKER and focus on how to stop the gunmen, which triggered an argument, as Ishimaru defended Naegi by stating that thanks to the boy, the gunmen's numbers have been reduced and that the entire police become aware of what is happening at the building.

The police chief dismissed it saying that the boy is just a thrill seeker and now he gets what he deserves and this infuriated Inspector Ishimaru, resulting in the two men exchanging heated words.

The other policemen at the scene looks on with worry as the police chief reiterated that Naegi is getting in the way and would recommend in having him arrested once caught while Ishimaru tells him he is acting too immature and said that Naegi is possibly one of the hostages that managed to escape, which the police chief dismissed such theory.

"Get real, inspector!"

"You get real!"

"What?"

"Naegi is the reason why we found out about this situation!"

"That brat need now is a good spanking!"

"You leave Naegi alone!"

"What was that?"

"You heard me!"

Inside the building, Naegi is at the 36th floor, hiding out as he planned his next move as he watches the scene outside via the window, seeing that the police cars are still there and sensed that a standstill is in place.

The boy realized that the odds are slowly stacked against him now that Munakata and his men now know who he is, yet they do not know his appearance thus the element of surprise is still on his side and thus he would have to be more careful and plan his moves so that the gunmen won't get the gist of what he looked like.

Then his radio blared where Inspector Ishimaru spoke, asking Naegi if he is okay, which the boy assured that he is fine and kicking. Ishimaru sighed in relief and tells him to stay alive and not act recklessly as he has a feeling that the gunmen are now becoming brazen.

"Trust me, kid. You need to be careful. Those guys are now determined to kill you."

"Relax. I'm one step ahead of them…"

"Believe me, they are taking you more seriously…"

"They haven't seen me yet, so I'm still good."

"I keep telling you, Naegi…this isn't a Super Sentai show. We're talking about the real thing here…! Those goons use real guns!"

"I know. As I said a while ago…I took out seven gunmen and alerted you. I didn't even use a gun yet…"

"You know, Naegi-kun…you sure have the guts…but you shouldn't be complacent…hey!"

"Huh?"

Suddenly the police chief's voice is heard, where it showed that he took the radio from Ishimaru and he began to berate Naegi for his gung-ho antics and vowed that he will be arrested for obstruction, which Naegi lashed back, saying that he DID A FAVOR by reducing the gunmen's number and provided the information about the terrorists and the number of hostages and even managed to alert the police about this situation and tells him that the police chief is causing more problem than helping, so he tells him that Takaki Ishimaru is the sensible one here and would rather talk to him instead.

The police chief felt insulted at being told off and warned him not to show his face or else he will arrest him personally whether he is a minor or not, which Naegi further rebuked him.

"You listen here, you brat…"

"What…?"

"You better pray that you get killed…"

"Why?"

"Because if you are alive and once I see your damn face…believe me…I'm going to arrest you!"

"Shut the hell up, you motherfucker…"

"What was that?"

"Put Inspector Ishimaru back on the line."

Takaki then told the police chief to stop it, saying that Naegi is the EYES they need since he can tell what is happening inside the building, and the police chief is irritated that he leaves and began talking to the SWAT to plan their next move.

There Takaki apologize for what happened just now, which Naegi said it's okay but then he hurriedly said he'll call back and the communications are turned off, leaving Takaki baffled.

Inside the building Munakata is seen entering the 36th floor, where the place appeared deserted and is about to proceed further when he looked up, seeing someone standing over a makeshift platform and aiming a sub-machine gun at him, where Naegi tells him not to move.

"Hey."

"…"

"What brings you here?"

"…"

"Who are you looking for?"

"…"

"Answer me."

"…"
