Just a short fic that's been occupying my brain. None of the characters belong to me. They belong to Julian Fellows. Except Oakley and I'm not sure which wonderful Andith shipper created him but I hope you don't mind that I've borrowed him.

Heaving a sigh of frustration, Edith abruptly pushed her chair back from the keyboard.

Deciding she needed a break from working on her current article, she headed down the hall in search of her favorite distraction.

She stopped just outside the library door, gazing upon her husband as he sat near the window reading a novel from Locksley's vast collection.

The smile that crept across Edith's face was full of adoration. She loved these moments, watching Anthony engrossed in a book and completely unaware of her presence.

Edith took the opportunity to admire Anthony's long lean frame casually reclining in a comfy chair, right leg tossed across the left so that he might prop his book in his lap.

The sunlight, streaming through the window, highlighted the gray around his temples as he tilted his head slightly to one side.

Thin lips that curved into an adorable crooked grin whenever he read something amusing.

Long slender fingers deftly turned each finished page. Heavens, the magic those fingers and lips were capable of performing! Edith felt herself blush at the direction her thoughts were taking.

Reading glasses perched near the end of his nose gave him quite a scholarly appearance. Not to mention those amazing blue eyes in which she often lost herself.

How had she been so lucky as to claim one of Yorkshire's most dashing gentleman for her own!

Unaware of the contented sigh that had escaped her lips, Edith started when Anthony addressed her.

"See something you like" he teased, glancing up from his reading.

And there it was, the look that always undid her. Piercing blue eyes staring intently over the top of his spectacles into the depths of her soul.

"Most definitely," she answered bashfully, casting her eyes towards the floor.

She opened her mouth as if to speak again but hesitated, biting her bottom lip instead.

"What is it my sweet?" Anthony encouraged her to continue.

"I, well, I was just going to say that you, my handsome husband, should always be reading a novel", Edith replied. "I find you quite irresistible especially when you look at me that way."

"I must confess", chuckled the Baronet, "I've been aware of that fact for some time."

"You've not" countered the lady of the house.

"Oh sweet one, why do you think the library is so often where you find me? Now dear wife, come kiss me and please be sure to lock the door this time!"

Edith's laughter rang out.

"You know", she pondered, "I wonder who was more embarrassed the last time we were 'caught in the act', Oakley or Granny!"
