The Ultimate Being arrives at Remnant

Chapter 6

"Not that I wish to question your decision boss, but the villagers are beginning to notice, Yorick is starting to crack under the pressure and I am very sure that when some idiot feels brave enough to take a walk through the woods they will find… that, it would help if I knew what you were planning" the mayor's assistant said as he looked at his boss.

But the mayor remained silent.

"You cannot ignore me! Do you not realize the danger, students from Beacon have arrived and if they find out they will…"

"Yes I am aware of the students, they will be no problem and neither will the populace, Yorick just dumped the last corpses which means I can at last proceed"

"Proceed with what?!"

"Tell me James, what do you think power means?"

"The hell…"

"To me it means that you can do whatever you want without having someone oppose you, I was powerless James, weak and fragile a simply human being with no powerful semblance and no way of making a change in the world but then HE arrived and all of that changed"

The major stood up from his chair and smiled at his assistant.

"HE opened a whole new world to me and now I have power, power to change the world, HE just asked for one thing you see, in order for his army to work undisturbed there must be no witness and you my friend and all of the people here are nothing more than that witnesses"

James pulled a gun out and pointed it at the major.

"You have gone mad and I won't be arrested…"

James suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest and when he looked down to his horror there was a giant hole where his chest once was.

Blood was pouring out at a fast rate.

As he fell down he saw the major shake his head.

"You are weak James, like I was once, but do not fear my old friend I will make you stronger"

"Velvet there you are!" Coco said as she tackled her friend into a hug, Fox and Yatsuhashi smiling in relief at the fact that their friend was safe and sound.

Kars watched the scene with indifference, they were apart for a very short time why where they making such a scene was something that he could not understand.

He walked next to Port who smiled at him.

"Why thank you Mr. Kars you brought my student back, why that reminds me of that one time where I had to save my teammate…"

"Yes I am sure it was fascinating story, but I am afraid I must inform you of a situation I discovered in the woods, the corpses of the townsfolk are not being buried, they are in a clearing not so far from here" Kars said sop bluntly it made Port open one of his eyes in surprise.

"Excuse me?" he managed to say. Kars let out a deep sigh and pointed to Yorick. "I will let him explain"

Yorick snorted and proceeded to explain everything to the professor, the requests of the mayor to not bury the dead and to keep everyone in the dark. Velvet and her team listened to and their mood drastically changed.

Velvet and Coco grew concerned and Yatsu and Fox grew angrier, Yorick finished his tale and pointed at Kars.

"He said he knew what was going on and that if I followed him somehow everything would be solved" Yorick then turned to stare at Kars "Would be nice if he shared what he knows"

Kars snorted but now that all the attention was on him he decided it would be best to inform of his plan, wouldn't want them to get in the way "He is going to use the corpses somehow, don't ask me how, I don't know why, call it instinct but I just know they will be of use to him; that I won't stand, I request that you stay out of my way as I solve this issue" Kars said as he stared at Port in the eyes, waiting for something.

But what he got confused him, Port laughed "AH yes of course! Men such as ourselves cannot be contained by societies' norms! I shall accompany you as we question this fiend! Team CFVY you will go with us, this a perfect lesson! A hunter most always trust his gut instinct to hell with what the law says!"

Velvet's ears dropped "That sounds wrong on so many levels" she whispered to Coco, who made shrugged.

"Not the first time I have broken a law or two" she whispered back, to that her entire team rolled her eyes.

But suddenly everything around them grew dim, as if the sun itself had been blocked. Velvet gasped in fear as the very air around her transformed into a green mist that started to move towards the forest. The townsfolk looked around frightened and confused, not knowing what to make of the situation.

Kars let out a sigh and started to remove his shirt, Velvet blushed scarlet and covered her eyes with her hands (she moved some fingers to take a peek), Coco lowered her glasses and let out whistle.

"Not that I am complaining handsome, but is it really a good time to show off?" Coco asked Kars, he simply shrugged his shoulders.

"It's my only shirt, I won't let them destroy it" Kars commented as he flexed his muscles, making Velvet let out a soft whimper. Coco grinned as she watched her friend try (and fail horribly) at trying to hide the fact that she was ogling their chaperone, Fox on the other had only one thing on his mind.

"Them?"

Kars pointed at the forest and soon enough the leaves started to move to reveal something that made everyone present scream in terror… everyone except Kars who simply raised an eyebrow.

"That impossible!" Coco screamed as she felt herself taking a step back and her hands refusing to stop shaking. Port for the first time on his life was left without words and Velvet felt terrified to the core.

"Yorick, get the villagers to safety" Kars commented, the gravedigger quickly ran and told everyone to hide. Kars prepared himself and stared at the oncoming horde.

From the major's window, the mist spread faster and faster, the major was on his chair, his eyes closed, he would looked serene if it wasn't for the fact that grinning ear to ear. "Soon my lord, we will all reach heaven" he cackled as the mist turned from green to red. And an otherworldly howl filled the air, the major opened his eyes.

"What do you think James?" he asked the corpse, the undead growled at him before he screamed at the top of his lungs and jumped out of the window joining his comrades.

"What a thriller of a night this is going to be" he said at last and closed his eyes once more.

A/N: I'm back!

Sorry for the long wait but as I said before it took me forever to figure out what I wanted to do with the story or what direction I wanted to take Kars (and the world), but I am proud to announce that I now have a middle and endgame written down. Terribly sorry for the very VERY small chapter but I promise the next one is going to be bigger. Thank you for reading!
