Chapter 47

Jasmine walked through the door, which led to the heart of the ship, and standing between her and the bomb, was Price. Price had his hands behind his back, his once kind face was replaced by an emotionless expression. As he stared at the girl, Jasmine couldn't help but stare back. They were both studying each other, checking for signs of any weakness, but they only found the same thing. Rage.

"Tell me something Jasmine, why do you fight to protect the people that has caused so much suffering? Surely you must despise them, especially after finding out what they had done to your mother." Price questions casually, like they were friends meeting at a pub.

Jasmine knew that he was trying to get under her skin, but it still angered her that he would speak about her mother's torture so casually. Instead of letting the rage consume her, she hid her feelings and spoke just as casually, "I would've walked away, and gladly too. However, you decided to try to hurt my friends, and so, now I can't back out."

He shuffled his feet, "Ah, yes. I'm sorry about that, but there had to be some casualties for this to work in my favor."

"And for that, I have no choice but to stop you."

Sighing, "Very well, but know that I won't go easy on you." Price states.

Holding her gun at the ready, "Stop kidding around Price, you and I both know that only one of us is walking out that door." Jasmine replies.

"Maybe." He said this in a way that sounded as if he knew something she didn't, but before she could respond, he quickly shoots at the girl.

With little time to react, she dodges it, and from there on out, it was a fight to the death.

Down below, Bryce was running down a flight of stairs. Heading straight for his bomb. He had no idea how his friends were doing, but he forced himself to not think about anything, except for the task at hand. Reaching the bottom, he took a peak out the door, his gun at the ready for anything. Hearing deep voices from within, he walked as quietly as he possibly could. Taking a deep breath, he rounds a corner and begins shooting at the two Braivrok's. He managed to hit one, due to the surprise, but the other was already at the ready.

The Braivrok shot at Bryce, the blast grazing his cheek. Without even thinking, he started yelling and charging at the alien, shooting nonstop until it was dead. Once it fell, he tossed the gun on the ground and began taking a look at the bomb. As he messed with it, he came to a startling realization.

"Crap!" He exclaims and immediately gets his disc out. "L.E.T.A. get me through to everyone, now!"

"On it!" L.E.T.A. exclaims through the disc, as Bryce stares at the bomb with worry written on his face.

Jim was still trying to get the door open on his side, desperate to get to Jasmine. He should have seen this coming, so he may have stopped her. However, he didn't, and now she was facing Price on her own. Even though he and Jasmine talked, he was still trying to get to her. Adeline glanced back and forth from the screen and Talion, who was becoming even paler as time went on. His wound on his leg hurt severely, and he was losing a lot of blood. If he didn't see a doctor soon, there might be a strong possibility that he wouldn't make it. Blake and Greer were no longer on the screens, but their discs indicated movement, meaning that they were alive. Meanwhile Castor was fighting as bravely and fiercely as he can, despite his own injury.

As they waited in silence, a sudden voice echoed throughout the room that belonged to Bryce. "Hello?! Can anyone hear me?!"

"Bryce! Thank goodness you're okay!" Adeline exclaims into her disc, as Jim quickly comes over.

"I'm alive, but that's not what's important right now! We got a big problem!" Bryce yells through the disc.

"What kind of problem?" Jim asks, looking at the disc in concern.

"It's the bombs, we're not going to be able to shut them down!"

Through Jim's disc, Greer's angry voice echoed through it, "What do you mean?!"

"The bombs timer is password locked, meaning that we need the password to turn it off!" It was clear that Bryce was panicking at this point.

Adeline and Jim shared a concerned look. There had to be a way for them to figure out how to shut down the bombs without any casualties. However, this was Price and the Braivroks they were dealing with, meaning that things were always going to be this difficult.

"Is there a way for me to hack into the system?" Talion suddenly asks.

"No, the system is way beyond my own capabilities. If we're going to shut them off, we need the password."

Sounds of gunshots echoed through the discs, as Castor yelled, "Well can you figure it out soon?! We're getting our butt's handed to us!"

"I'll try to think of something, but it might not work."

Jim lifted his disc to his lips, "Jasmine, did you hear this?" he asks, hoping he wasn't loud enough for the enemy to hear.

Jasmine shot at Price a few times, ducking as he did the same. They were both equally good shots, which made the fight more intense. Hiding behind something, she speaks through her own disc, "Copy" and starts to think of a plan. She knew that it was up to her to figure out what the password was, as Price was the only one who would know it. However, the task of getting it out of him, was going to be difficult and even more deadly. With a deep breath, she rolls and springs into action.
