It wasn't often that Joker and Dark Eye got to talk about anything besides Spade and stealing treasures. Joker was either busy half of the time or he just didn't have much to say. What could he say? Dark Eye was a famous idol who sang and dance and who wanted to be a Phantom Thief. If anything, Joker would commend her for choosing such a reliable person to study under. Spade was a great person, a little sassy and know-it-all but Joker still loved him. But Hachi, in his opinion, was studying under the best person (besides his master Silver Heart).

But when the occasion that they were able to talk came up, it was almost always over fashion. As a Phantom Thief, Joker had to know the latest fashion trends so he wasn't caught when he had on a disguise. Spade, although very fashionable, was also focused on his book series (which Joker knew he was the author, I mean Spadon King? Come on, Joker wasn't born yesterday) and so Spade never had time to talk fashion with Dark Eye. It started when Joker showed off his awesome shopping skills, dressing in an amazing burgundy bomber jacket and black skinny jeans with Dark Eye fawning over his watch. Dark Eye took off her bandages and turned back into Ai, who immediately asked Joker about the latest trends. The look on Spade's face when he realized that Joker was up to date on clothes when he wasn't, had been a pleasant memory for joker.

Ai was a nice friend to have when he needed someone to talk to when Joker didn't feel like talking to Hachi. Ai could easily give him a solution and not be so biased with her opinion. And in turn, Ai could ask for fashion advice and for Phantom Thief advice. It was a nice friendship, one of the only ones that Joker knew would last.
