Well, this took a long-ass time to get out. And yes, for those wondering, eventually I'll update An Arc of Fates, Reading RGF, DMC: Remnant Hellfire and RWBY: General's Remnant. Just as soon as I get this out, as well as the first chapter of a new non-RWBY story. One I've been wanting to do for a long time now, and tear myself away from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Anywho, last time, Sean, Ruby and company had fought off Grimm, Lost Legion and Bandits in the Emerald Forest. And had uncovered the identity of the supposed saboteur. As well as a clue. Let's go!

[Mountain Glenn]

"Professor Port informed me that you found some old Merlot Industries technology interfering with our security network." Spoke Doctor Oobleck, as a Lance gunship descended, dropping off the eleven Vault Hunters, along with teams RWBY and CFVY just outside the ruins of Mountain Glenn. "It might be nothing... OR IT MIGHT BE EVERYTHING! Either way, I believe it should be worth investigating the Merlot Industries buildings in Mountain Glenn." Oobleck continued, "If my old maps are still accurate, it should be located somewhere in the center of town. Just do your best not to end up like the brilliant men and women who worked there..."

"God dammit, I'd hope we'd never end up back here at any point in our lives." Delilah groaned, as Blake nodded grimly.

"Hey Sean, Hailie, Ruby, if you guys get the chance, I sent in a platoon of my Lance soldiers into Mountain Glenn almost a week ago." Taylor said, concern in his voice. "If it isn't too much trouble, on your way towards the Merlot Industries building, could you please search for my troops? The commander's name is Crystal Evergreen." Taylor added, as a picture of the aforementioned Lance Commandant, along with a small profile.

'Crystal Evergreen... Age 24, height: 5 feet 7 inches. She's a Faunus with shoulder-length platinum blonde hair, blue eyes, and a single leopard tail.' Sean thought, reading her profile, 'Seems that before she met joined the Lance, she was top of her class at the combat prep academy in Atlas. Although she suffered some discrimination due to being a Faunus in Atlas.'

"Yeah, we'll take care of it Taylor." Hailie replied, getting a nod from Ruby.

"Yeah, if you mark the LZ on my ECHO, we can send your troops there." Sean said, causing his older brother to sigh in relief.

"Thanks guys. I, I appreciate it. I'll mark the LZ to just outside the city, where you guys are at. Good luck." Taylor said, cutting off the connection, relief evident in his voice.

"So, what's the deal with this Mountain Glenn place?" Maya asked, as the group began their trek into the ruins.

"Yeah, red riding hood over there didn't seem too pleased about coming here." Axton noted, causing Yang to growl mildly, her eyes turning red.

"OK, first, her name's Ruby." Talia said, correcting Axton on Ruby's name, "Second to make a long, and rather tragic story short, Mountain Glenn was once an attempt to expand beyond Vale's borders. But, after a series of attacks, was overrun with Grimm."

"Hell, the underground might arguably be worse." Matthias continued, "Essentially, Mountain Glenn is Remnant's largest mass grave."

"Jeezus, forget that I asked." Axton muttered, as the group continued, right into a large group of Grimm. Including 32 Creeps and 16 Beowolves.

"Incoming!" Coco called out, as the Grimm noticed the group, charging at them.

"Let's go." Maya chuckled, activating Phaselock, trapping ten of the Grimm, Coco firing Gianduja, using her Semblance to shred them into ribbons. Whilst Gaige called up Deathtrap to eviscerate another ten Grimm.

After several minutes, our heroes had finished dispatching the Grimm, the rubble crumbling opening up a new path.

"Well, glad that's-" Was all Weiss got out, as several thundering booms are heard, the group looking upwards, seeing a small fleet of Lost Legion ships over the ruined settlement.

"Jesus Christ in a flaming handbasket." Kord muttered, as multiple gunships began their descent into the ruins.

"Well, shit." Talia swore, as sounds of gunfire were heard. "And, what in the name of buggery was that?" She asked, as our heroes picked up a voice on the ECHOnet.

"Lance firebase Sparta! This is Commandant Evergreen! We're under heavy assault from Lost Legion, Grimm and some unknown hostiles!" Spoke the voice of Commandant Crystal Evergreen. "We've suffered casualties! We've lost a quarter of our forces! We need some godsdamn backup!" She added, before the connection cut out.

"Well, guess that's Commandant Evergreen." Velvet said after a few seconds, as gunfire could now be heard from nearby.

"And I think we've got a bead on where the Lance are at." Blake added, as the group made their way towards the city, only to be blocked by rubble on the bridge.

"Well, that's, unfortunate." Gaige muttered.

"Doctor Oobleck, looks like the bridge's blocked by some debris." Sean reported, "You know of any other way to get to the objective?" The Vault Hunter asked, as gunfire could be heard close by.

"I'm gonna guess that's the Lance soldiers we're looking for." Coco noted.

"Well, if your objective coincides with locating the Lance soldiers, I'd recommend taking a detour through the city's old waterway system." Oobleck replied, as the group nodded towards each other.

"Waterway system, gotcha." Sean said, hanging Oobleck up, before he and the others ran into the dried-up waterway, right into a group of 30 Lance soldiers, some of them carrying bleeding, wounded comrades.

"Hey! Is there a Crystal Evergreen among you?" Weiss asked, as one of the Lance medics had their brains splattered all over the SDC heiress, causing her to stumble.

"SHIT! MAN DOWN!" One Lance soldier yelled, as a huge, hulking and muscle-bound monster of a man wearing a large metallic helmet, orange clothing and what looked like armor on his arms and shoulders and carrying a huge minigun.

"Ah shit... BADASS GOLIATH!" Hailie yelled, as a cadre of Bandits poured out of the gate, including ten Marauders, a Nomad, two Bruisers, and about twenty Psychos.

"TIME FOR KILL!" The Badass Goliath yelled, activating his minigun, causing the group to take cover, all except the wounded, who were ground into mulch.

"Dammit! We just lost the wounded!" One female soldier yelled, "Commandant Evergreen! We need to get out of here!" She added, head directed at one Lance soldier wearing green and white armor, helmet included.

'I think I know how to help.' Sean thought, "Bruticus, time for a classic! Hellfire Protocol! Tenderize 'em!" The ex-Spetsnaz merc ordered, Bruticus bringing out his guns and rocket pods, and firing them into the gaggle of bandits, completely turning them to bits of flaming meat.

"Well, ain't no kill like overkill." Velvet muttered, as a chunk of Bandit skull landed right next to her.

"So, now that that's taken care of, we're looking for a Commandant Crystal Evergreen, which one?" Matthias asked, as the green and white Lance soldier walked up to the group, and removed her helmet, leopard tail waiving behind her.

"I'm Commandant Evergreen, who the hell are you?" The now-revealed Commandant Evergreen asked.

"I'm Sean McAllister, this is my twin sister Hailie." Sean answered, motioning towards the younger Siren.

"Wait, McAllister?" Crystal said, a tad confused, before her eyes widened in recognition. "You're Taylor's siblings?" She added, the twins nodding in conformation, "Oh thank the gods! We've been trying to contact base for a week, only for our comms to be jammed, and a group of Lost Legion nobends to start firing on our position." The Commandant added, "Then those masked freaks showed up from out of damn nowhere, saying they were gonna turn us into 'bloody meat pie sacrifices' or something."

"Those were Bandits. They're not exactly playing with a full deck." Matthias replied, handing the Lance commander a canteen of water, which Crystal eagerly accepted.

"Thanks." Crystal said, taking a gulp before handing the canteen back to the Vault Hunter, as another Lance soldier walked up to the group.

"Not that we don't appreciate the help, but what the hell are you kids doing here?" The rifleman asked.

"We're here to investigate a possible connection between two disabled security nodes in the Emerald Forest, and Merlot Industries." Delilah answered, as several Lance medics began collecting the tags of their fallen comrades.

"That, and to let you guys know that Taylor has an LZ set up not too far outside Mountain Glenn." Kord added, pointing towards where they entered the ruins at.

"Well, for what it's worth, thank you." Crystal said, legitimate gratitude in her voice. "And if you're looking for Merlot Industries, the old HQ is that way." She added, pointing back the way they came, "Just head down Main Street, and just follow the trail of bodies and bullets, and you should be at your destination." Crystal put two fingers to her lips, and whistled, the signal for her troops to get moving. "But, there might be more of those Bandits, and gods know how many Grimm became attracted to the negativity."

"Not to mention, any possible Lost Legion?" Coco asked, as Crystal responded with a nod.

"We'll keep an eye out, thank you." Weiss replied politely.

"Well, good luck on your mission." Crystal said, turning to her troops. "All right, meat bombers! Let's get the hell outta here!" She yelled, her troops running back where our heroes came from.

"The less time we spend in this shithole of a city ruin, the better." One of the Lance sergeants grumbled, as the group made their way past the remnants of the gate.

"Well, that was a thing." Maya mumbled, as the group made their way towards what looked like the main street, only as a ruin.

"Hazard a guess, but this was probably Main Street." Coco muttered, as Weiss had a look of anger on her face.

"The Grimm... They absolutely annihilated the place." Talia whispered, as said Grimm, eight Boarbatusks, and ten Creeps suddenly appeared.

"Eyes up, people!" Axton shouted, as the Grimm began to attack, followed by ten Legion drop pods suddenly landed.

"And, cue the Lost Legion..." Bruticus said, dismissively. Teams RWBY and CFVY handling the Grimm, the eleven Vault Hunters handling the Lost Legion. In a matter of seconds, both foes are dispatched.

After a few minutes of walking, our heroes managed to spot the Merlot Industries HQ. Much to the relief of the group.

"That's it! There's the facility. Kinda surprised how it's survived all this time...but that's besides the point." Taylor said, as the group jumped onto the ground, right as several Lost Legion gunships showed up, dropping just short of a battalion of Legion troops around the group.

"Attention: Vault Hunters and brats!" Shouted the Lost Legion commander, as his goons set up a massive barrier around the facility.

"Great, THIS jackwad again..." Kord grumbled, Sean grabbing Excalibur.

"We gave you a chance, and you squandered it. Now, you've given us no choice." The Legion commander said, as the Legion cocked their weapons at the group. "Troops, you've got your orders: Execute the Vault Hunters... As well as their friends." The Legion commander ordered, his gunship leaving, the Legion troops beginning their attack.

"Here we go again..." Matthias muttered, as our heroes fought back.

Bruticus began by digistructing two miniguns, tearing apart about fifteen of them. Delilah following up by firing a bullet from her sniper at a lamppost, causing a ricochet, nailing another twelve Legionares.

"Adios, bastardas." Delilah cursed, as Maya created another singularity, trapping several Legion troops before Deathtrap eviscerated them.

"Gaige, you and DT pin down those Legion goons encircling Velvet!" Sean barked, out, the red-headed mechromancer and her deathbot nodding in confirmation. "Talia! You, Kord and Salvador flank the Legion before they overrun Ruby and Fox!" He added, switching from Excalibur to his rifle.

"You got it, boss!" Kord replied, the aforementioned trio moving to intercept the Legion troops.

"Taylor, Doc, we've encountered Legion resistance at Merlot Industries! Crystal and her remaining troops have evacuated! We're going to need an extraction-whoa!" Sean yelled, as an explosion rocked the area, the ground beginning to shake and crack.

[End OST]

"OK, what the hell was-" Axton began, as the ground continued to shake, and eventually start to collapse.

"Nothing good, before you continue!" Coco replied, as the concrete began to cave in, taking the tower with it.

"Well kids, you know what happens next?" Kord asked quietly, looking at the camera.

"Oh..." Hailie muttered, as the ground beneath the group finally collapsed, as everyone answered.

"...CRAPBASKETS!" Everyone shouted, as they fell into the dark underground beneath Mountain Glenn.

Thank you, GOD! Ugh, this chapter came out FAR later than I wanted it to. But, with the global outbreak of COVID-19, my grandma being tested positive (she's better now), and just being confined for months, I haven't exactly had the energy to write, anything. But, I'm back now! For real this time! Anyway, looks like our heroes find themselves without Merlot tower, and now are stuck beneath Mountain Glenn. Twice, in the case of team RWBY, plus the initial seven Vault Hunters. How are they going to get out of this? Tune in next time, for the next chapter of Borderlands: Remnant Minds! Don't forget to read and review! And don't forget to wash your hands!
