Hey everyone I'm back. I am sorry I have not written in so long but my grandma was diagnosed with Cancer and then everything else went crazy too but now my grandma may in remission but won't know for sure for a few weeks so I have not been writing much. I hope I still have some readers out there. hope you like the new chapter please read and review.

Chapter 8

Harry woke up before everyone else that morning and immediately went to the kitchen and started to cook breakfast thinking that he would still have all the same chores as he had at the Dursley's only difference was it was his parents giving them to him. He just hoped that they stayed as nice as they were last night. Harry was putting the last plate of food on the table when James came in.

James stopped at the door when he saw that his kit had not only made breakfast but had only set the table for three "Harry you did not have to make breakfast but thank you for doing so but why is the table only set for three?"

Harry felt scared that he had done something wrong so he did what Vernon always had him do he knelt on the floor bowed his head and said "I'm sorry, please punish me any way you choose."

James was shocked senseless for a few moments that his son was asking to be punished for something no one in their right mind would punish someone for. His shock wore off quick as his anger started to set in as he yelled "Severus get in here please!"

Severus woke up at James's yelling and ran to the kitchen still in cat form but as he entered the kitchen he shifted forms but before he could ask what was wrong he saw Harry sitting on the floor in a submissive pose and wondered what was going on. As if knowing what he was thinking James spoke "Harry seems to think that I want to punish him for only setting the table for three and for cooking breakfast for us. And this is the pose he took when asking for it."

Severus saw that Lilly had come into the room and had heard everything and by the look on her face she knew what was happening Lilly was her sister and knew what she was like, she also knew how her sister's husband was even worse. She looked at her mates and knew that they did not know what to do as James was getting angry and about to go and kill some muggles and Severus was torn between trying to help their kit and going with James.

She slowly walked towards their kit watching as he flinched slightly away from her thinking he was going to be hit. As she knelt down she said "Harry, you are not going to be punished I know how my sister and her husband might have done that but we are not them. But we need to know why you did what you did not to punish you but to correct the years of abuse they put you through." As she finished she tilted Harry's head up so that he had to look her in the eyes and when he saw that there was no anger in her eyes he broke down and clung to his mother crying.

After a while Harry had cried himself to sleep in Lilly's arms and as she held him she looked at her mates and said "I think I know why he did this but I will need to confirm it with Harry when he wakes up and we will talk to him after we all eat. For now set up a fourth place for him at the table and put a warming charm on the food so that it will be fine later. But don't mention it until after our meal is done." James and Severus nodded and did as they were told while waiting for Harry to wake up.

(a little while later)

Harry woke up slowly trying to remember what had happened, after a few seconds though it all came flooding back. He was about to panic until he felt a pair of arms around him he remembered that he had cried himself to sleep in his mom arms. "I know your awake sweetheart, can you open those beautiful eyes for me?" Lilly's voice startled Harry but he did what he was asked and opened his eyes hoping he was not going to be punished.

"There you are, now we will need to talk later but for now let's get something to eat." Lilly smiled as Harry hesitantly nodded but followed her to the dinning room. They hit the first hurdle once they got there. James and Severus were already sitting there waiting and Lily sat down at one end of the table but Harry went to the corner of the room and stood there.

"Harry son, come site down you don't have to stand in the corner. You are not going to be starved here." James soothed his kit hoping he would do as he asked and not be too afraid to respond.

Harry was confused he never sat at the table with other people he was a freak and freaks do not eat at the table with normal people. He wondered if this was a test to see if he knew his place like uncle Vernon had once done he remembered that lesson well. "Freaks don't sit at the table with normal people sir, I know my place I will stay here sir." Harry was sure he would just be ignored after that but his dad closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he stood up slowly and walked over to Harry.

Severus did everything he could think of to calm himself he knew right then and there that the Dursely's would have a long and brutal death if he had anything to say about it. When he got close enough to his kit he kneeled down so he could look him in the eye as he said "Harry first you are not a freak or abnormal or anything like that. What those people made you think is nothing more that their way of punishing you for how you were born and who you were born too. Everyone no matter who or what they are deservers food and that includes sitting at a table to eat it. Everyone dersevers basic human kindness. Being fed is not a luxury it is a right, so I want you to take my hand and come with me to the table to sit down and eat." Severus waited his hand out stretched to his child hoping that he would take it and not make him have to take more drastic measures to make sure he got some food.

Harry hesitated for a few moments before he took his dad's hand and let himself be led to the table and sat down but he was even more shocked when his dad did not sit down right away but loaded Harry's plate with a little of everything on the table. As he did Harry noticed that everything on his plate and on that table was the food that he had cooked for breakfast earlier that morning.

Harry sat there as his family started to eat but James noticed him not eating and he told Harry to eat and that it was ok. Finally Harry started to eat but he was hesitant like he was going to be punished for eating. Soon though he understood that he was not when he noticed that smiles on his parents faces as he ate which gave him the confidence to eat without fear.

After breakfast was over James put an arm around his kit and led him to the living room along with Lily and Severus and sat down. Once everyone was seated he turned to his son "Harry we need to talk, we can see that the Dursely's treatment of you is worse than we imagined so we are going to tell you how things will different here."

Harry looked down as he knew now they were going to tell him exactly how he would be punished for being a freak here. He knew it was too good to be true he did not know that he was in for a shock.
