Stella's POV

20 minutes of awkward tutoring continued with Kyle tutoring both of us. He only seemed to share his smiles with me, which Seth noticed causing him to glower.

"Okay! I understand it perfectly now!" Seth suddenly shouts and quickly begins packing all of his things.

"W-what? We still need half a chapter to go over." I said as I looked down on my book and towards Seth simultaneously.

Seth seemed to ignore my words as he also packed my materials and my bags hurriedly.

"Thanks for all the help! Appreciate it." Seth said through gritted teeth and a forced smile.

Before I could even utter another word, Seth grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me out of the room, taking both his bag and mine with him.

I could only look back at Kyle who looked at both of us quizzically.

Seth didn't stop after leaving his room, he exited the house altogether.

"Seth, what''s going on? I live there y'now." I said as soon as he finally stopped walking.

"I know! And I don't like it!" Seth yelled, angrily.

I widened my eyes.

I had never seen Seth this angry, much less yell at me.

He must have noticed my hurt look as he quickly apologized.

"Gosh, damn it. Sorry Stella, I didn't mean to get angry at you, it's that guy! Ugh, I can't stand him." Seth says frustrated.

"It's okay Seth. I understand your anger. I did notice his change of attitude." I reply.

"He likes you, that much is obvious. I hate that you have to live with him." He scowls.

"I know. I'm not very thrilled either." I sigh.

"Then why do you stay there? Come with me." Seth pleads.

"I can't do that to Karen." I reply.

He narrows his eyes and looks at the side.

I put my hands on his cheeks and make him turn to me.

"I love you Seth. Please don't worry. It will only be for a couple more days." I told him, looking deep into my eyes.

I could see he was still very conflicted but he relented.

"Fine… though call me if anything fishy happens. I'll come in a heartbeat."

"I know you will." I smile and kiss him in the cheek.

"Hey, can't you give me one here?" he taps his lips. "I was able to restrain myself from beating up that guy, I deserve a reward."

I giggle, "You sure do."

I put my arms around his neck and connect my lips to his.

-Next day-

I was seated in the living room, felt like changing my routine a little and decided to read for a change.

My days usually consisted of school, hanging with the guys and spending time with Seth. But with Christmas break I had more time for other activities.

As much as I loved spending time with the pack and my Imprint it was good to have a change of pace and have some time for myself.

Or at least that was my intent but Kyle came home and quickly started chatting with me.

Dang it, I was so focused on my book I hadn't paid attention to the footsteps of him arriving. If I had noticed I would have evacuated to my room.

After my conversation with Seth the day before I had planned to avoid Kyle the most I could, out of respect for my Imprint.

But my plan failed as I became too comfortable on the sofa with my interesting book in hand.

"So what're you reading, Stella?" Kyle asks after greeting me.

"Pride and Prejudice." I answer as I try to think of how to leave to my room without being rude.

"What a classic." He says with a smile and decides to seat in the same sofa as me.

I respond with a smile and decide to continue reading and hope he takes a hint and leaves to his room.

Unfortunately, he doesn't and only stares at me, I feel awkward as I can feel his piercing gaze.

I can't concentrate on my book with his constant staring…

"How can such an intelligent girl be with such an immature guy…" Kyle whispered to himself.

I easily heard it with my superior hearing and looked at him in surprise.

"What did you just say?" I tell him offended.

How dare he call Seth immature! He doesn't even know him!

Kyle widened his eyes, not expecting me to catch his words but easily managed to find a reply.

"Girls are simply more mature than guys." Kyle replied smoothly and then grinned. "Which is why girls usually date an older guy."

"Maybe 5 years older." He says while slowly inching closer to her on the sofa.

Noticing his move, I move farther away from him while replying, "I'm very happy in my relationship."

A look of frustration passes Kyle's face and before he could say anything else, I flee to my room with my book in hand.

I don't want him to come to my room using the excuse of returning my book.

Only when I reach my room and lock the door, I sigh in relief.

Seth was right, Kyle likes me.

What should I do? Should I leave? What will Karen say? Should I tell Karen?

I groaned in frustration.

Well, first thing, I should go tell Seth, I promised him I'd tell him if Kyle tried anything.

He might still be in the living room though…

I look to my right where my window is.

Should I leave through the window?

I'm on the second floor, if Kyle were to see me that would raise a lot of questions.

Before I could ponder more, I heard a knock in the door.

By the scent I could tell it wasn't Kyle so I didn't worry.

I open the door and the kind face of Karen greeted me.

"Hi dear, we are going to play a card game, would you like to join us?"

I knew that by we, she means her and Kyle and I knew I didn't want to see his face so soon.

I was about to reject her offer but flashbacks of playing with Karen resurfaced on my mind.

"Darn! You beat me again." I sigh with a smile.

"Practice makes perfect~" She chuckles.

Her eyes soften and her smile turns sad as she says, "I only wish my son were here. It was so fun playing cards with him."

"Karen…" I mumble sadly.

"Gosh, ignore me, dear. Ramblings of an old woman."

"You're not even old Karen." I say with a downcast smile.

With those memories in mind, I find it impossible to turn down her offer. She's waited so long to finally play card games with her son.

I nod at her and we both go downstairs where Kyle is waiting for us in the table with cards in hand.

"Ready to play?" He asks with a grin.

Hours quickly pass as we play various card games, and during the games, Kyle acts like nothing even happened and I'm forced to do the same.

"Good job Karen!" I smile at Karen's newest victory.

"Thank you, Stella." Karen smiles graciously.

"I was going easy on you Mom." Kyle smiles playfully.

"You're just a sore loser." Karen chuckles.

Sore loser he is indeed…

I look at Kyle as I have those thoughts, he notices my look and winks at me.

I managed to suppress rolling my eyes, simply because Karen is here.

"Wanna go for another round? I'm sure I will win this time." Kyle says as he shuffles the cards.

I get up from my chair and look at Karen, purposely avoiding Kyle's gaze, "You two go ahead, I'm going to go to bed."

Karen looks at her watch, "Oh dear! It has gotten late. How time passes when you're having fun!"

I manage a smile, "I'll turn in, then."

"Stella, have dinner before going to sleep." Karen

"No thanks Karen, I'm really tired. Goodnight." I smile at her.

I walk to my room as I think with a humorless smile.

For a shifter to turn down food, these are troubling times…

Once I arrive at my room, I make sure to lock the door and open one of my drawers.

I'd like to say spending time with Kyle took my appetite away but as much as I wish I could say that, my shapeshifter biology demands food.

In my drawers, I have a lot of snacks I've bought over the days.

I take out three protein bars, a pack of cookies and a small bag of chips.

I usually eat more healthy, but desperate times call for desperate needs.

I'd rather have junk food for dinner than spend more minutes talking with Kyle.

I look at the time and know it's too late to visit Seth and let him know.

I wonder if I should simply call Seth to let him know.

Knowing him he will rush here and make a scene with Kyle, not to mention startle Karen in the process.

My best bet is to wait for tomorrow and go visit him, I should be able to pacify him and we will look for a solution together.

Hopefully, one that won't break Karen's heart.

I finish eating all my snacks and easily go to sleep.

-Next day-

I manage to avoid Kyle and after eating a quick breakfast head over to Seth's house.

Usually, I would text him to make sure he is home, but because of the time I know he probably is just waking up.

Once I arrive at his house, I knock and Sue opens the door.

"Good morning Stella." Sue greets me with a smile. "I'm not sure if Seth is awake yet, he hasn't gotten down."

"Good morning Sue." I greet her back. "If you don't mind, could I go see him?"

Sue chuckles, "Yes, please wake him up for me if he's still sleeping it's already 11 am."

With a nod, I walk up to Seth's room and I can tell he isn't sleeping as he usually lightly snores.

Hmm, I normally knock before entering but I want to surprise him. I made sure to walk quietly.

"Hi Seth!" I say cheerfully as I open the door.

"Stella?!"

Seth to my surprise wasn't in bed just waking up, but was standing in his room with a towel around his waist. His messy brown hair was wet and water droplets were going down his naked torso.

Seth in his surprise of seeing me dropped the towel.

A surprised scream escapes my lips as I quickly cover my eyes and turn around.

"Shit!" I hear Seth curse as I can hear him shuffling around, hopefully putting clothes on.

I was very used to seeing him shirtless, but seeing him completely naked was something I had never seen.

"You can look now…" The embarrassed voice of Seth rang out.

I turned around and he was now using pants, not bothering to put a shirt as I was used to the sight.

"Sorry Seth, I should have knocked…" I said sheepishly.

"Nah, don't worry about it." He came and hugged me.

With a smile, I hugged him back and nuzzled on his chest.

I feel really safe in his arms.

"What brought this surprise?" Seth grinned.

His words send me back to earth.

Right, I have to tell him…

"Well I promised I'd tell you if anything happened…" I started.

His eyes flared, "Did that jerk tried anything?!"

"Well yes and no, he didn't do anything but he did imply it." I tell him with a calming tone.

He did calm slightly after I said that and I explained what happened.

"Oh 5 years older! Isn't that convenient, that's exactly how much older he is!" Seth ranted as he paced in his room.

"Yes, I know. That's why I quickly left to my room."

His eyes narrowed as he said with frustration, "But you still played cards with them."

"Karen asked me, I couldn't say no. Not after all she's done to me and I know how much she missed her son." I explained to him.

"It just so happens that her son is a douche and needs to be taught a lesson." Seth raged. "I'll pay him back for the chemistry lesson."

He storms off his room and I quickly grab his arm in haste.

"Seth no! He's still a human, you could accidentally kill him!" I reasoned.

"Don't see the problem with that." He replied darkly.

"Seth! Don't say that." I put my arms around him. "You're not like that! The Seth I know would never want to kill anybody."

I could feel him relax in my hold and nuzzle my neck.

"I don't want you living there anymore…" He muttered against my skin.

I sighed, "Yes, I know."

He leaned back and looked at me in the eyes, "At least for the next two weeks he is here, stay with me."

"I will." I nodded.

After that, we asked we explained the situation to Sue and she happily let me stay with them.

"You're welcome to stay with us for as long as you need." Sue smiled. "I'm sure Leah won't mind sharing her room with you."

"If she even spends the night with us." Seth quips and I jab him lightly in the arm.

"If I sleep in the house or not, I don't see how it's your business." A familiar voice rang out.

I turn around and see Leah walking to us.

"Hey sis." Seth says sheepishly.

Leah gave him a pointed look before turning to me.

"You should have came to us as soon as that idiot started living with you."

"He's Karen's son and I didn't know he was that type of person until later." I replied, feeling scolded.

"Still he's a guy, and besides my brother." She pats Seth's shoulder. "All guys are wolves, they're predators."

"Hey! I'm a wolf!" Seth quickly argued.

I think Leah was talking about the other type of wolf, but it's still ironic as Seth can shape shift into a wolf…

"Shut it! That's not what I mean." Leah chided her brother.

Seth scowls but doesn't say anything.

"Yes, well now I know his true nature. Which is why I came here." I say. "I hope you don't mind us sharing a room."

"I don't mind, like Seth said, most of the time I'm at Nate's house." Leah smiled.

"Yes, so I've heard." I say with a teasing smile.

Leah blushes slightly at my comment, "We usually watch scary movies at midnight and fall asleep while watching it."

"I'm glad Nate found someone to watch scary movies with, I've never been a fan of them." I giggle.

Afterwards, I decided to go back to Karen's house to tell her about my temporary living situation.

"Leah Clearwater…?" Karen asks and I nod.

I told Karen I wanted to stay in the Clearwater residence to hang out with Leah during the Christmas break.

"I understand you and Leah are good friends but Seth also lives there." Karen says with a worried tone. "I know you two are dating, but you should still be careful and go slow."

"I know Karen. Don't worry. Both Sue and Leah are there and I will be sleeping in Leah's room." I explain.

Kyle is unusually quiet throughout the conversation while wearing a blank expression.

I am standing by the door with luggage in hand and Karen is looking at me sadly.

"I'll miss you, my girl." Karen hugs me closely.

"I'll miss you too" I hug her back. Karen has become like second mother to me in these few months I've been living in La Push.

Once we separate, I see Kyle is giving me an expectant look.

Darn, do I have to hug him too?

I look to my side and Karen is giving me a sad smile. As rude as it might look I don't feel like giving him even a quick hug.

"Bye Kyle." I say with a wry smile. "It was nice meeting you." I move towards the door but I'm stopped by Kyle.

"Aw, I won't get a hug? I thought we became friends." Before I can even reply I am engulfed in an unwanted hug.

"I'll miss you…" I heard him whisper in my ear.

I pushed him away while trying to suppress my real strength and accidentally sending him flying.

"Goodbye Kyle." I say with a pointed glare. He only replied with a sly smile.

I hastily grabbed my luggage and exited the house.

God, so creepy…

I narrow my eyes as I remember his words and his unwanted advances.

I feel strong arms embrace me from behind and I almost cringe away thinking it was Kyle but I could feel familiar tingles in my skin and familiar rainforest mixed with chocolate scent I know and love.

"Seth." I utter and hold his arms close to me.

"I heard what happened over there, It took all my willpower to not go there and pummel him." Seth fumed.

Oh, his superior hearing…

"It also took my willpower to not send him flying but we have an oath to not hurt humans." I tell him with a gentle smile.

"Yeah, I know." he grumbles.

"That reminds me, what are you doing here?" I ask him.

"I couldn't let you go alone, so I waited outside." Seth explained.

I chuckle at his protective nature.

"Let's go home, Seth." I smile gleefully.

Seth smiles brightly and grabs my hand.

Together we walk hand in hand to our home.

Aw, well Stella will be living with the Clearwater's for awhile.

Sorry for the long wait! Time passed fast and I was really busy with work and school. I won't take summer classes so I should have more time to update this summer.

Lol, the Karen meme has become so popular these days, I wish I could go back in time and change Karen's name to something else as the Karen from my story is the complete opposite to the Meme Karen. Oh well nothing I can do now.

Thank you for the comments! Please keep sending me comments, I love to hear your thoughts!
