Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters. They belong to Hiro Mashima!

Whenever Gajeel gets back from a mission, he always heads to the guild's Library. Not because he is desperate to pick up his favourite volume, but to find something. This 'something' was something that, for a big part of his life, he hadn't known. Not love, it was too complicated for him to bother with right now. So maybe something similar. The way it would make him feel at peace with not only the world, but himself. Something that he is still learning to do. Because whenever he sits at the second table on the right, he feels calm. Nothing like what would be going on if he was in the main hall of the guild. The dust from ancient tomes sometimes irritates his nose, but there is always a window open if she thinks the air is a bit stuffy. If the afternoon sun streams in through the window and shines on her pretty blue hair, it would illuminate her whole being. It is in moments like this that his breath catches in his throat. Because when she looks up from her book and her face lights up with a smile, when she says "Welcome back Gajeel" in a soft voice, and when he sits opposite her and they both simply be. That's when she knows it's his little way of saying thank you.

AN: So that was my first story I've actually uploaded. I have a bunch just sitting, unfinished and neglected on my laptop! Anyhoo, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
