Glad to see you guys are still enjoying this story, I hoping I can continue to make this story enjoyable to read. Now there are a few things I plan to change from the last couple of seasons, one of them being not every member of the Alolan gang will enter the Pokémon league. Only Kiawe, Lana and Gladion and Lillie. My main reasoning is most of them aren't battlers. Also the requirements for the league I was thinking in order a trainer will register in the Alola with one of the Kahunas, the over a series of 6 months' trainers will at bare minimum must have at least of 100 battles by the time the tournament will start. Only trainers with an average wins of percentage of 70 or higher will be accepted. I got the idea from the Yu-Gi-Oh Arc V anime where the participants needed to have 50 duels with a 60% percent win rate, or 6 consecutive wins to enter the Arc League. Anyway the format for the league will have 9 rounds. The first three rounds will consist of 3 on three battles. After that the next 3 battles with double battles with a full team of 6. And finally the last three matches will naturally be 6 on 6 battles. I might bring back some of Ash's rivals plus some other characters. Also I might at in the Power of Us movie, since its my favorite Pokémon movie.

FoxyKhai0209: Ash will get Riolu but it will be the Riolu he met in Sinnoh.

It was night time in the Alola, as the Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat flew through the night sky looking for food. However, tonight was a night for investigating. Recently, the wild Rockruff who hand been staying with Professor Kukui and his own Rockruff, had been disappearing night only to return injured. Wondering where Rockruff been going the two decided to follow Rockruff. They follow Rockruff along the coastline keeping their distance so Rockruff wouldn't sense them. Although it seemed far more interested in reaching his destination than thing around it. Soon Rockruff a cave, knowing his destination was close Rockruff, increased his speed as he sprinted inside.

Seeing Rockruff takeoff Ash, Kukui, Pikachu and Rotom increase their speed, in order to catch up. Once their made it through the cave, Rockruff was no longer in sight.

"Awe man, we lost Rockruff." Ash sighed.

However, looking around their surrounding Kukui realized where they were. "We on Claw Mark Hill."

"Claw Mark Hill?" Ash responded.

"Yeah, it's where Rockruff like to in live, on Melemele Island, as well as many other wild Pokémon. In fact, if we go up that hill we'll see more of the area." Kukui answered, before pointing to the top of a hill. Once on top, they indeed got a better view the area.

"Over there!" Rotom pointed.

Off in the distance were a group of Pokémon, including a Fearow, Braviary, Boldore, Pangoro, Magmar, Sudowoodo, Mankey, Primeape, Hariyama, Golduck, Machoke, Spinda, Sableye, and a Vullaby, along with Rockruff. However, what truly caught everyone's attention were the two battling in the middle, both were wolf-like Pokémon however the first one had more of a werewolf appearance with red, and white fur with red eyes, stood on two legs, a white mane that tipped over his head with a grey tip. The other stood on all fours, had light brown fur, a white underbelly that extended around his muzzle and eyes creating a mask. A white bush mane was around its neck with four stone-like spikes poking out.

"Midday and a Midnight Lycanroc." Rotom identified.

"Wow, so those are Rockruff's evolved form, they're incredible." Ash connected.

The two wolf Pokémon locked eyes before the Midday form several rocks around its body, before launching them at its midnight counter-part. Looking on the Midnight Lycanroc crossed sits arms and it took the Rock Throw, since Lycanroc were rock types Rock Throw wouldn't cause much damage.

The midday form wasn't done yet, as it glowed white before ramming into its midnight counterpart. However, the midnight form wouldn't budge as took the attack before countering with a fierce blow to the gut, as it glowed red.

"Ah Rock Throw and an Accelerock that was incredible." Kukui muttered.

"Yah, and the way the midnight form used Counter was cool too." Ash added.

The two Lycanroc forms continued a stare down as they let out a low growl while the other Pokémon cheered them on.

The match continued the midday form continue to press on, can it charged forward with a Crunch attack as it bit down on the midnight's shoulder. However, the midnight wouldn't give as its hand glowed before chopping down on the midday's head.

"Whoa, a Brick Break." Ash commented.

"That's the Midnight Lycanroc's preferred battling style, it take its opponents attack before dealing back a decisive blow." Kukui informed as.

As the battle raged on the wild Pokémon continue to cheer the two all the while Rotom continued to collect data. However, the battle soon stopped, as the two Lycanroc grinned as they let out a load howl. Soon the wild Pokémon soon charged in as they began to battle one another. The Braviary and the Fearow battled in the skies as they crashed into one another.

Ash, Kukui and Pikachu focus their attention on trying to find Rockruff, however they noticed something else. A bipedal Pokémon with red and yellow flame patterns all, over the body. It had a yellow beak, small eyes, and two bumps on its forehead. Each bump had yellow flames coming out, on its feet were two sets of claws for toes, and on each had were 5 claws. It had three black shakes one on its neck, and one on each leg. It had two red spikes on its back, and long yellow tail, and a red and yellow tail at the end.

"A Magmar and powerful one." Ash stated, as he watched Magmar take out several Pokémon with a Flamethrower.

Seeing the Magmar Rotom gave out some information.

Magmar; The Spitfire Pokémon: A fire type. When angered, it sprouts brilliant fire from all over its body. It doesn't calm down until its opponent burn down to ash.

As Magmar began posing after its victory, Rockruff came from its place as its barked at Magmar challenging it. Seeing Rockruff Magmar agreed to the challenged as it got itself pumped up. Charging forward Rockruff attempted to hit Magmar with a Tackle attack. However, Magmar countered with a Fire Punch and swung. Rockruff was sent back with a thud, as it howled out in pain. Magmar didn't let up, as it then landed another blow with another Fire Punch. But Rockruff wasn't ready to give in just yet, as it bit down hard onto Magmar's hand. Magmar howled in pain returned returning pain with a powerful Flamethrower. Rockruff flew back, but somehow managed to land on its feet. Now wanting to give in, Rockruff continued to growl as the rocks on its collar began to glow.

"Whoa, didn't your Rockruff's collar glowed just like that with it used Rock Throw." Ash said he called the battled he had with Kukui after he first joined the school.

"You're right, looks like Rockruff is trying to use it as well." Kukui agreed.

As the battle continued on, both Pokémon continued to give it their all as Magmar planted Rockruff with another Flamethrower. Determined not to lose Rockruff stood back up, and clamped down on Magmar's tail. Magmar cried out in pain, as it shook its tail in order to get Rockruff off. However, suddenly fire sprouted from Rockruff as it forces Rockruff to release Magmar's tail. Then Magmar's hand glowed as it chopped down on Rockruff.

"What happed?" Rotom questioned.

However, Ash recognized them situation Rockruff found itself in.

"That's Magmar's special ability Flame Body, when an opponent hits Magmar with a move that makes contact, there's a chance the opponent will suffer burn damaged. The opponent will keep suffering damaged until the end of the battle." Ash explained.

"Then once the ability activated Magmar took advantage and hit Rockruff with Karate Chop." Kukui added.

Unfortunately for Rockruff, he couldn't take much more as Magmar delivered a power Cross Chop, with another burn from Flame Body caused Rockruff to faint. Once Rockruff fainted, Ash, Kukui, Pikachu and Rotom were quiet, after all of its hard work and determination, Rockruff still lost. Magmar began showing off proud of its victory, however a new challenger a Pangoro stepped up. Immediately, the two began throwing down, as they exchanged blows from Thunder Punches, and Fire Punches. Neither side was giving an inch, as they continue to fight, while the wild Pokémon continue to cheer on.

"Professor, are they training?" Ash asked.

"Correct Ash, the Magmar wasn't just defeating those other Pokémon for show." Kukui began, "This a place where humans must not get in the way. It's very much a Pokémon Dojo."

"So Rockruff, has been working on moves hear." Rotom concluded, as they noticed Rockruff got up, and began cheering on the other two Pokémon.

Soon the training session was over, Rockruff began making his way back home. Soon he heard footsteps approaching, looking up Rockruff, saw Kukui, Ash, Pikachu, and Rotom up ahead. Rockruff joyfully sprinted, once next to them, Pikachu and Rockruff began running circles around each other.

"Rockruff, you were incredible." Ash complemented as he scratched Rockruff's head. "You were so brave taking on all those Pokémon. Say this was glowing a while ago, the Professor said you were trying to use Rock Throw."

Rockruff couldn't help but turn his head in confusion.

"Say how would you like to join me in doing some training, and learn how to use Rock Throw. Not to mention some other tricks?" Ash offered.

Immediately Rockruff barked in excitement.

"Pika, Pika! Pikachu added.

"Pikachu will help to." Ash said.

"But Ash why would you go through all that trouble?" Rotom questioned.

"Well that my job as a trainer, it's to help Pokémon get stronger, it doesn't matter if they're my Pokémon or not, after all it want to help all Pokémon improve in order to get to know them better." Ash explained.

"I see." Rotom responded.

"Ready Rockruff, once you learn Rock Throw you'll be able to beat that Magmar." Ash stated getting Rockruff more excited.

The Next Day

The next everyone one was gathered on the school training ground. Kukui figure having the whole class watching Ash train would great experience for them.

"Alright today will be helping Ash train Rockruff." Kukui announced.

Once informed on what Rockruff has been up to these past few days the class was more than happy to help. Once they watched the battled Rotom recorded of Rockruff vs Magmar, Ash began asking his classmate questions.

"Now that you've the footage can anyone explain why we need to teach Rockruff Rock Throw?" Ash began waiting to test his friends' knowledge.

Kiawe was the first to answer, "Well since Rock Throw is a rock type move, it will have a huge advantage over fire type like Magmar."

"Correct, but there's another reason Rockruff should learn Rock Throw." Ash informed.

It took a few moments but it was Lillie who answered.

"Is it because of Magmar's ability, since Flame Body works due to contact moves, and both Rockruff's moves are contact moves. Since Rock Throw doesn't make direct contact, it won't trigger." Lillie explained with everyone giving her a look of amazement.

Smiling Ash responded, "Correct, we also need to work on getting Rockruff dodging abilities."

Ash decided to focus helping channel the energy for Rockruff.

"Okay moves like Rock Throw work by channeling their energy into a single point before realizing the power. For example," Ash explained how train for Rock Throw.

Nodding towards Pikachu, Pikachu gave Ash a thumbs up, as he began storing electricity in his cheeks.

"Now once you stored enough power, then all you have to is release it." Ash said, just as Pikachu fired the Thunderbolt at a target further down.

Seeing this Rockruff began jumping up and down in excitement. And with this everyone began helping Rockruff learn to control their energy. Ash even suggestion for them to let out their own Pokémon to help show Rockruff how it's done. Lillie had Shiron practice Powder Snow, Lana had Popplio practice Bubble Beam, and Totodile use Water Gun, Mallow had Chikorita and Bounsweet, practice their Razor Leaf, Kiawe brought Turtonator, and Cyndaquil work on Flamethrower, and finally Sophocles had Togedemaru use Thunder Shock. After watching the other Pokémon work on their attacks, Rockruff took from what he observed and began working on it himself.

Rockruff seem to get the idea but just had some difficulties controlling Rock Throw. Ash recognized Rockruff was having a difficult time controlling Rock Throw was similar to his Glalie back to when it was a Snorunt learning Ice Beam. Once Rockruff got the hang of controlling the energy, the next step was firing it. They first practiced with a bullseyes target which Rockruff was mostly able to hit. Every now and then, a rock would miss but Ash was confident Rockruff was able to work on the next step which was learning to dodge. Since Rockruff was tired after working on Rock Throw, Ash had Rockruff take a break before explaining the next step for Rockruff. Ash's friends would take turns shooting they're Pokémon's' range attacks, while Rockruff could only dodge. Rockruff would be allow to retaliate with Rock Throw, until he Kiawe's Turtonator.

Once that was done they began prepping for the next training session. Once Rockruff was rested and ready they began working on dodging attacks. At first it was easy since Rockruff was working with Shiron who had only recently hatched. Thus Shiron didn't have much experience, firing an attack. Once Shiron was tired they worked with Togedemaru next, while Togedemaru fared better she still didn't land a hit on Rockruff. Feeling comfortable they worked with Bounsweet next. Rockruff ended up getting hit a few times but Bounsweet didn't land a serious blow. Once Rockruff gotten use to Bounsweet's movements they moved onto the next Pokémon, Popplio. In the end Rockruff ended up getting soaked quite a bit, however still after a while Rockruff got the hang of avoiding Bubble Beam. Finally, Rockruff reached the end, where Rockruff was now trying avoid Flamethrower, before firing Rock Throw. Show far Rockruff managed to avoid the first Flamethrower, unfortunately when Rockruff attempted fire back with Rock Throw, Flamethrower caught his tail. This cause Rockruff to race to the water to cool it off. After several dodges and a few more burnt tails, Rockruff successful managed to avoid Flamethrower, and hit Turtonator with Rock Throw.

Deciding it was then time for lunch the group took another break, Rockruff happily chowed down on the Pokémon food made by Mallow. He was also enjoying the praises he was getting for his hard work. Once Lunch was done, it was time for the final test, a mock battle with between Pignite, and Rockruff. When every asked why Pignite, Ash's reason was Pignite had both Flamethrower, and Fire Punch for Rockruff to work with and Brick Break and Arm Thrust to practice with to prepare for Karate Chop, and Cross Chop. Before Rockruff began training with Pignite, Ash show two more waves of dodge attacks. The first way was having Pikachu spinning through the air. Everyone was amazed how Pikachu dodged Flamethrower by rotating through the air.

"Seeing by spinning you'll create a lot of air pressure, which will attack like a dodging motion. And the stronger a faster you are, the more effective the move will be." Ash explained.

Once that was done Ash showed another way to dodge, he had Pignite use Flame Charge, and a Pignite got close, Pikachu rotated head of heels like a top to avoid the attack. Seeing these two ways of dodging got Rockruff even more excited. It took a while but Rockruff finally got the hang of dodge in these two new ways, as well as learning Rock Throw. Now Ash was sure the Rockruff would beat that Magmar.

Later During the Night

It was time for the rematch, after going over strategies and giving Rockruff a pep talk, it was time to training to begin.

Ash, Kukui, Pikachu and Rotom took their place from the night previous night, the class weren't going to be able to watch the battle tonight, but Rotom promised to record it. Once the two Lycanroc let out their howls, Rockruff step forward challenging Magmar again, too which it immediately accepted.

To begin, Rockruff charged forwards like the previous night. However, he skillfully managed to avoid the Flamethrowers sent his way. A he ran forward he began charging up, and was ready to fire the Rock Throw. Not wanting to let Rockruff gain an advantage Magmar threw a Fire Punch. Seeing the attack coming, Rockruff followed Pikachu example and jumped and rotated head over heels to get behind Magmar. Realizing what Rockruff was up to, Magmar raised his tail to stop Rockruff, only for Rockruff to bite down on the tail. Using his momentum Rockruff threw Magmar, before finally unleashing a barrage of rocks.

The wild Pokémon cheered for Rockruff seeing his massive improvements, even the Lycanroc tilted the heads with curiosity for the puppy Pokémon.

Getting back up, Magmar created a circle of several small purple flames, and then sent them to his opponent. Rockruff quickly retaliated creating several rocks and using them to dispel the Will-O-Wisp. Unfortunately, this was Magmar's plan as shot out a powerful Flamethrower. The attack sent Rockruff flying back, only for the puppy Pokémon to land on his feet and charge back at Magmar. Firing another Flamethrower, Rockruff spun out of the way to avoid the attack. Once at a safe distance Rockruff quickly fired another Rock Throw, but Magmar wouldn't back down as it tore through the Rock Throw with Cross Chop. As Magmar neared, Rockruff managed jump out of the way in time. On high in the air Rockruff fired another Roc Throw that slammed Magmar into the ground. Using the momentum as he fell, Rockruff slammed into Magmar with a powerful Tackle. And just like that Magmar fainted a Rockruff bark for its victory.

Two the Lycanroc howl, as did Rockruff, while the Pokémon cheered in celebration of Rockruff's victory. Once the training ended everyone was walking home, congratulating Rockruff on his hard earned victory. As they walked home, Kukui suggestion for Ash to catch Rockruff. Hesitant, Ash asked it if was okay since Kukui has been taking care of Rockruff. The professor was more than alright it since Rockruff has more trust for Ash than anyone else. Deciding to go through with it, toss tapped a Pokéball on Rockruff's head. The ping confirming Rockruff's capture. Ash then let out Rockruff from his Pokéball welcoming him to the team along with Pikachu. Deciding to take the next step in Rockruff's training Ash raced his Pokémon home, with Kukui and a reluctant Rotom joining in.

Alright, Rockruff is now a part of Ash's team, let me know what you thought of the chapter. For the next chapter Daisy Oak will make her appearance, we'll have a battle between her and Ash, and Ash will meet up with Litten again. Look forward to it, guys later.
