Chapter 23: The battle of Kages

A/N: Hey there! It's me again. Firstly, I have to thank "Strikerthefallen" and "don't mind me" for their reviews. I have to say, I was hoping for a few more followers and favourites though, but oh well. Anyway, before we start, I would like to address Striker's theory on Naruto becoming ten tails JInchuriki.

(Theorizing starting, skip if you want): Firstly, in the final war against Madara, Naruto got chakra from all the bijus. True he didn't get Shukaku's but later when Rikudo Sennin was in his mindscape, he got Shukaku's chakra too, that's why we see a sand rasenshuriken later. So theoretically, he should have been ten tails Jinchuriki, but no. Obito had become ten tails Jinchuriki but only after the Biju was formed. And that was possible only through the Gedo statue. The Gedo statue has to have all 9 biju's chakra and then it becomes Juubi, which was then sealed into Obito in the canon anime. So, I don't think Naruto can be Juubi Jinchuriki even if he absorbs all the beast's chakra, I could be wrong though, (I don't remember much of the anime towards the last)

But anyway enough about that, now let's start with the chapter! Hope you like it!

Orochimaru snarled as he saw Naruto disappear in a yellow flash, taking the Shukaku and bijudama with him, "For god's sake, what exactly happened while I was gone?"

"Wasn't that your teleportation jutsu, Tobirama?" Hashirama asked.

"Yes, indeed it was, although, it did look more polished and improved. Who was that kid, Hiruzen."

"The Yondaime's son and Kyuubi Jinchurki."

"Yondaime? Then why are you still Hokage?" Tobirama asked.

"Minato Namikaze, the Yonadime and his wife, Uzumaki Kushina died fighting the Kyuubi when it escaped from Kushina's seal. They sealed it in their son, Uzumaki Naruto, and died in the process." Hiruzen replied solemnly.

Hashirama frowned, "It seems a lot of misfortunes struck while I was dead."

Tobirama nodded, "Yet it seems, I had barely witnessed half of it. Still, seeing that kid, I wish I was still alive to see the potential of the next generations."

Hashirama shook his head, "We shouldn't be alive right now, I told you while I was still alive not to create this Jutsu, but you didn't listen!"

"But Nee-san," Tobirama argued, "It was built to sacrifice the worst of the worst to bring back people who were good and loved, not for such an evil purpose."

"And I told you, sacrificing someone so brutally, no matter how bad they may be, is quite inhuman."

"You forgive people too easily,"

"Yet if you had listened to me, we wouldn't have to fight against the village we love. I told you it will fall into the wrong hands."

"Enough!" Orochimaru said tightening his grip on their minds, "I brought you here to fight not to bicker,"

"I suppose you weren't stupid enough not to create a counter seal," Hashirama commented.

"No, but the one under it can't do it, someone else has to."

"Baka-tobi,"

"Hmph," Tobirama grunted, "Maybe if the Uzumaki kid is skilled enough, he can undo this..." Tobirama said as Tobirama fell completely into Orochimaru's jutsu, his eyes turned blue from grey.

"Obito, Itachi get ready!" Hiruzen ordered.

"Both Uchiha guards... they will have the best chance against us Saru," Hashirama whispered as he also fell under the jutsu.

"Hmm, I see you have brought Itachi as your guard too, no matter. 2 Hokages and I are more than enough for you three."

"We will see about that, you snake," Obito snarled.

"My my, such words from someone so much younger," Orochimaru said creepily as he launched his neck at Obito. Obito slashed his kunai at his neck. Orochimaru grunted before turning to mud, "Shit, a mud clone, where is the real body?" Obito asked himself. "Over here, Obito," Orochimaru said from behind him. Obito turned to see Orochimaru getting ready to strike him, but he fell back as a wall of black flames appeared. Orochimaru snarled.

"Don't be so hasty, Tou-chan," Itachi said.

"I had it under control, I would have used Kamui. You go help Hokage-sama,"

"No, let me fight Orochimaru, you are stronger than me and have a better chance against Shodaime and Nidaime-sama."

"Yes, but your 2nd mangekyo allows you to cast Tsukoyomi too, help Hokage-sama defeat them by disrupting the reanimations with Genjutsus."

"Shisui's Kotomatsukami would have come in handy," Itachi grumbled.

"No, Orochimaru could just switch bodies, because he already know's Shisui's power, yours, on the other hand, can disrupt him from doing so, so go to Sandaime-sama and help him, I will take care of Orochimaru,"

Itachi nodded and jumped in Hiruzen's direction. Orochimaru moved to stop him but was kicked away by Obito, "I am your opponent!"

With Hiruzen

Hashirama used his wood style to keep shooting branches at Hiruzen, who merely dodged. Tobirama meanwhile kept using his water style techniques to bombard Hiruzen. Finally, Hiruzen was caught off guard as he was slammed with the wood branches. Hiruzen grunted. Tobirama shot a strong water bullet towards Hiruzen whose eyes widened, but the bullet didn't reach its target... instead it was engulfed by black flames. The flames crashed into the wood too and freed Hiruzen.

"Itachi,"

"Sandaime-sama. I've come to help."

"Yes, I believe Obito is taking on Orochimaru then?" Hiruzen asked.

Obito nodded. "Very well," Hiruzen said, "Then you support me by bombarding with them Genjutsu, and use your Amateratsu to counter their techniques, I will handle the rest."

Itachi nodded, "Should I use Susanoo?"

"No, Obito has told me you have not yet mastered it like him and it will have a great toll on your visual prowess. The Amateratsu and Tsukoyomi both together will be hard for you as it is."

Itachi nodded, "Understood, Hokage-sama."

Hashirama and Tobirama engaged Hiruzen in a 2 on 1 taijutsu fight. Hiruzen created an earthen armour around him and transformed his staff into Enma, the monkey king, "It has been a long time since you have called me in battle, Hiruzen. But, I understand your predicament." Enma said looking at the reanimated Hokages.

Hiruzen nodded, "Yes my old friend, it seems this may be our last battle,"

Enma nodded solemnly but Itachi interrupted, "With all due respect, CUT THE CRAP, Hokage-sama. As if I would let you die, Naruto would probably send me to join you in the afterlife,"

Hiruzen smiled, "I have no doubt he would but I must sacrifice myself if all else fails,"

Itachi didn't reply, instead, he just focused on the reanimated Hokages and put them under Tsukoyomi. Hiruzen took the chance to launch himself towards his former sensei with the monkey king by his side. Hiruzen smashed his earth hardened leg and kicked Tobirama in the head, before unleashing a fire technique. However, Tobirama quickly moved out of the way breaking through the Tsukoyomi but with a nasty burn. Hashirama too broke free and then used the wood style to try and smash the unguarded Itachi. Fortunately for him, the monkey king was quick to save him from the attack.

"Thanks, the Hokages are tough," Itachi said.

"What do you expect, they were the first Shinobi. Hashirama was known as the God of Shinobi for a reason. Fighting with them will be no walk in the park.

Itachi nodded, "Shouldn't we get rid of this barrier by getting rid of those guys holding up the barrier."

"NOOO!" Hiruzen yelled, "It will be harder for us to contain Shodaime and Nidaime-sama without the barrier, countless more may die then."

Itachi nodded, "Got it, let's end this here then."

"It won't be so easy. Tobirama-sensei's reanimation had a flaw or advantage, whatever you would like to call it. The reanimation jutsu heals all injuries inflicted on the reanimation body. Look, the burn Tobirama-sensei got has already healed."

Itachi tsked, "So, they are immortal,"

"Yes, which is why I need you to do something, no questions asked," Hiruzen said as he and Enma battled Hashirama in a short Taijutsu spar

Itachi stiffened, "What is it?" he asked narrowly avoiding Tobirama's water bullet and countering it with an earth wall.

"Draw both the Hokages into one place with the help of your amateratsu," Hiruzen said as he drew back with Itachi. A forest of woods slowly crept towards them.

"Why?"

"I must sacrifice myself, there is no other way," Hiruzen replied.

"There has to be, if Tou-chan defeats Orochimaru, the jutsu will be broken and then..." Itachi argued.

"I have no doubt that my former student prepared for that," Hiruzen replied while Enma helped him battle his old teacher.

"But..."

"NO! As your Hokage, I COMMAND you to do as I say!" Hiruzen ordered.

Itachi solemnly nodded, "Ok,"

The duo stopped simply dodging and started countering. Itachi used his Mangekyo to burn all of Hashirama's woods and slowly enclosed the two kages in a closed space with Hiruzen.

Hiruzen smiled sadly, "It seems our partnership has come to an end, old friend."

Enma nodded, "Yes, but I will help you till then," the monkey king added as he launched himself at the Nidaime and fought toe to toe with him on a taijutsu spar, however that was not for long as he was put out of action with a water bullet.

Hiruzen didn't bat an eye. Itachi put the Hokages under a Tsukoyomi giving Hiruzen just enough time to complete his handseals.

"DEATH REAPER SEAL!" Hiruzen called out.

Hashirama made a wood golem but it was almost immediately crushed by Itachi's amateratsu. Hiruzen noticed blood falling out of Itachi's eyes from overuse of Mangekyo, "Just hold on a bit more, Itachi," Hiruzen grunted, "The fight will end soon," Hiruzen said as he faced his predecessors.

Itachi fell to his knees struggling to keep his amateratsu burning in strategic places while using high powered water jutsus to remove the other amateratsu from burning away the stadium as well. Tobirama tried to head towards Hiruzen to fight him but Enma got back up and headed him off using Monkey sage and earth jutsus to barely keep him at bay while Hashirama was distracted by Itachi. Hiruzen grunted as the death reaper put his sword through Hiruzen.

Suddenly the ground below them rumbled...

On the other side of the barrier, Orochimaru was panting. Obito was proving a more difficult opponent then he could handle. Orochimaru was losing very badly. His snake summon was eaten up by Obito's Kamui almost instantly and the snakes refused to let another one of them meet the same fate. On top of that, all his attacks passed through Obito. He was sure Obito's chakra would run out soon but he had extremely low chakra because he used the reanimation jutsu. Orochimaru thought of a way to get out of the situation but Obito kept pressing him on a Taijutsu fight not allowing him to think.

Orochimaru brought out Kusanagi and engaged in a fight with Orochimaru but Obito slid through all his moves and launched an uppercut. Orochimaru's eyes widened and he dodged at the last second before launching a fireball towards him. Obito easily dodged it.

"Why don't I just finish this?" Obito taunted. Orochimaru snarled and launched a fire dragon combined with wind. Obito let the attack pass through before using his Kamui to place Orochimaru's hands in an alternate dimension. Orochimaru stopped to stare at the place where his hands should have been in horror giving Obito enough time to pass his hand through Orochimaru. He then brought back his hand inside him effectively punching through Orochimaru's abdomen. Orochimaru grunted and fell to his feet.

"You lose," Obito said, "The invasion failed when the Shukaku was defeated and now Hashirama-sama and Tobirama-sama will also disappear as soon as you lose consciousness. Konoha will survive!"

"Foolish Obito, you think I had not thought of that. I tweaked the reanimation jutsu to make sure Hashirama and Tobirama stayed programmed to fight even if I lost consciousness or died-not that it will happen, I can switch bodies." Orochimaru said weakly in the pain.

"That may be, but you can't switch bodies without making hand seals and you have no hands."

Orochimaru scowled, "I have methods!" he spat, "But what will you do about the two Hokage?"

"Sandaime-sama and I can take care of them with Naruto's sealing ability,"

"Hmmph, I doubt that wretched brat has any chakra left and from the looks of it, that old fool is going to sacrifice himself. Oh well, that just means the other villages will do my job for me by attacking Konoha while it is weak." Orochimaru smiled creepily.

Obito snarled at him, and went to help Hiruzen, "NO you old fart!" Obito shouted going back to his old way of acknowledging the Sandaime.

As he rushed towards Hiruzen, suddenly the ground below them rumbled... and then fell apart.

Orochimaru was equally surprised as everyone else to see the stadium floor fall, it wasn't part of their plan, so what was happening?

As the floor stopped falling, Orochimaru stood up shakily from the rubble and snarled. "I should have known that that DAMN BRAT WOULD BE BEHIND THIS!" Orochimaru screamed in his mind angrily as he came face to face with a mischievous grin belonging to a blond-haired and blue-eyed boy.

Orochimaru tried to kick him but Naruto disappeared in a poof as the kick connected, "Tsk, Shadow clone,"

Suddenly, Naruto came down with Yugao, "Uzumaki Curse Suppression seal," Naruto yelled and slammed his hand into the snake's face. Orochimaru was knocked unconscious by the force.

Obito got up from the rubble, groaning, and watched as the ANBU headed in to help. He turned to look at the Orochimaru and saw Naruto and Yugao bent over his unconscious figure, "Good, I think, Naruto has sealed his chakra away or something. Yugao can take care of the rest," he thought as he saw the ANBU rushing to battle the reanimated Hokages. "NARUTO, I NEED YOUR HELP COME HERE!" Obito yelled.

"Tou-chan!" Naruto exclaimed as he looked up before rushing to Obito. "What is it?" he asked.

"Not enough time to explain. Basically, Shodaime and Nidaime-sama have been reanimated by the snake and I need your help to seal them. I would have asked Jiraiya-sama but he's helping at the gates."

Naruto nodded, "No problem, but I have to see them in action to understand the counterseal. I think Orochimaru put o an extra seal because they are still going, so for that, I will need to analyze them. Besides that, I need the forbidden scroll to study the technique itself."

"Ok," Obito motioned to a nearby ANBU, "Get the forbidden scroll, it's urgent." The ANBU disappeared immediately. "Naruto, come with me, I will hold off the Hokages till you finish analyzing." Naruto nodded and followed Obito to the battle site, where they saw Itachi panting on the ground his eyes filled with blood and an unmoving Hiruzen.

"JIJI!" Naruto yelled and rushed over, "Is he okay?" he asked to the medic, "He's alive but his chakra system is... missing, somehow. It's very complicated. He will live I think, but we need to get him to a hospital,"

Obito nodded and pulled out two of the ANBUS, "Get the Sandaime to the hospital, now!" he barked.

The ANBUS nodded. Obito turned towards Naruto and was surprised to see him shocked and frozen, "Naruto are you ok?"

"It's my fault, if I hadn't..."

"No, it isn't. If you hadn't destroyed the barrier, Sandaime-sama would have sacrificed himself, it's because of you he is still alive." Obito consoled, "But now Naruto help me with fighting the Hokages."

Naruto sniffed one last time and nodded, "What about Itachi nee-san?"

Obito looked over to Itachi who was slowly standing up, "I am not going anywhere!"

"Itachi, you have to go to the hospital, your eye is..."

"No, I want to help, I still have enough chakra."

Obito considered for a bit, "Fine, protect Naruto he has to analyze the Hokage but he can't defend himself against the two Hokages. Unlike the tailed beast, they can use Taijutsu and Ninjutsu at a higher level and have infinite chakra and can't be mortally hurt, so it's your job to protect him. But DO NOT use Sharingan anymore."

Itachi nodded, "Come on Naruto." he said and let him to a safer and higher distance.

Meanwhile, Obito jumped towards action with the other ANBUS. He cursed as he saw Hashirama's wood-style slap away a squad of ANBU. 'Fire style: Flame dragon' Obito's fire dragon crashed into the woods burning them.

"Yes, use attacks like that!" Hashirama said.

"Wait, how are you guys talking? I thought Orochiamaru..."

"We Hokage aren't so weak. While he was conscious, he had a strong grasp but now we can talk even though we can't move according to our wish." Tobirama stated.

"You, Uchiha, you are powerful. Hold us off while the Uzumaki seals us." Hashirama said.

"He's just a kid still, he needs time to know the counterseal and analyze your other seal."

"Give him the forbidden scroll, I listed the counterseal in there," Tobirama said.

"I have already sent someone to get it for him," Obito replied dodging their attacks."

"Good, now be careful," Hashirama said, "The seal is making me unleash stronger attacks."

Obito tensed. Hashirama made a wood golem and stood above it while Tobirama's skin became covered with a thin layer of water. Obito cursed as he watched another two squads of ANBU swept away by the duo. The others used earth style to stay in position.

"Shit I have no other choice," Obito thought and yelled out, "SUSANOO!" A rush of chakra enveloped Obito and a huge blue armoured figure covered him. Obito made a motion of grasping a sword and the figure did the same.

"Susanoo, like Madara's!" Hashirama commented, "Good, now come!"

Obito rushed towards the Shodaime and sliced the golem splitting it apart. Hashirama jumped off and formed a huge amount of woods grasping Obito's Susanoo holding him back. Tobirama moved to barrage him with ninjutsu but was intercepted by the ANBU, meanwhile, other ninjas burnt off the wood holding Obito back.

"Nice! Use teamwork like that, otherwise you may not have a chance," Tobirama said.

Obito became free and kicked Hashirama in the air, and then turned to face Tobirama but fell as the Nidaime used a wind jutsu to enhance his speed and smashed into his chest knocking him down. Obito grunted and fell to the ground. Tobirama was caught off guard by one of the ANBU and was kicked away allowing Obito to get up.

"Kamui!" Obito yelled and sucked half of their body into the air, "Naruto now is your chance, " Are you ready?"

"Yeah!" Naruto yelled and came down with a seal drawn. He rushed at the two Hokage's bodies but was too late. They had already healed and Tobirama kicked him away. Obito cursed and went to battle Tobirama but stopped short when he saw Tobirama standing still, smiling.

"That Uzumaki child was successful," Tobirama said, "How did you get the counterseal to Orochimaru's added seal?" he asked Naruto.

"Well, when Tou-chan sliced you, I saw a segment of Orochimaru's seal, and understood what type of seal he was using. After that I just barely managed to touch you with it," Naruto replied beaming.

"Nice Naruto! Now deactivate his reanimation jutsu." Obito said.

"No wait," Tobirama ordered, "I am free now, so I will help you break Anija's seal."

Obito nodded, "I will help you,"

"Young Uzumaki, get on my back and keep the counterseal ready," Tobirama said. Naruto complied. "Now, let's go!"

With that Tobirama made shadow clones and used them to mark the stadium. Obito crashed into Hashirama's wood who shouted out, "That's it, keep on pressing me like that, Tobirama, Uchiha!" Tobirama used his Hiraishin to land behind Hashirama who turned around to kick him but Obito used his Kamui to take out his legs. Hashirama grunted and fell. Naruto took the chance and landed on Hashirama. Hashirama's hands turned to wood and tried to capture Naruto but Tobirama used a pressurized water jutsu to blast the wood. Naruto dodged the splintering wood and landed the counterseal on Hashirama's head.

Hashirama shook his head, "I'm free." he said. "You are truly powerful young Uzumaki," he praised.

Naruto beamed.

"Your name was Naruto wasn't it?" Tobirama asked. Naruto nodded. "Hmm, don't deactivate the reanimation jutsu."

"What, why? That's dangerous!" Obito exclaimed as he deactivated the Susanoo and landed beside them.

"I know, that's why he is going to seal us away instead. If it is only deactivated, we may be called back as enemies of Konoha again. So it is better to seal us off. Reanimation doesn't work on sealed people."

"Oh," Obito said before bowing, "I am sorry for my ignorance and attacking you, Shodaime-sama, Nidaime-sama."

Hashirama laughed, "No need to apologize, Uchiha-san, you were very good!"

"Thank you," Obito said, "By the way, how was I able to hold you back so easily? Even though I have Susanoo, Uchiha Madara was far more powerful than me and Shodaime-sama defeated him."

"There are three reasons," Tobirama stated,

"One: Orochimaru didn't study our jutsus properly. He didn't know I could use Hiraishin and Shadow clones, so while I was controlled, I didn't use them. While defeating Anija, I used the jutsus.
Two: His reanimation jutsu wasn't perfect and he was able to call forth only 20% of our power."

Obito's eyes widened, "Such power and you were using only 20% of your real power!"

Tobirama nodded, "Three: This is true for only Anija. He used Senjutsu to strengthen his wood further. A dead being can't use natural chakra so his wood was of bad quality. That's why you could use fire jutsus to burn the wood."

Obito nodded in understanding. "Anyways, Young Naruto seal us now. It's time for us to go," Hashirama said.

Naruto nodded and shouted out, "Uzumaki style: Soul binding seal!" At once Hashirama and Tobirama started to turn to dust, "Give my regards to the Uchiha clan," Hashirama said to Obito before they both fell to dust completely.

"They don't know about the massacre," Naruto stated solemnly.

Obito didn't reply to his question, "Where is their seal?"

"This seal doesn't have a physical symbol. It's unbreakable and very exhausting." Naruto replied exhausted.

Obito nodded, "Come let's see to the snake," Obito said and headed to Yugao and was surprised to see her on the ground.

"Yugao Sensei!" Naruto rushed over to her, "What happened to you?"

"Sorry, Obito. The sound ninjas holding up the barrier attacked and fled with Orochimaru." Yugao said shakingly.

"Don't worry about it, at least the invasion is over, we can deal with him later. Right now I need to rest..." Obito said before falling front with chakra exhaustion.

A/N: Well, this is the largest chapter I have ever written: 4000 words! I hope you liked the fight scenes and plot as well as the writing method, if not please tell me what you didn't like. Also, I hope we can get to 100 followers after I update this chapter.
