For the next few minutes Maura rocked Taylor back and forth as she kissed and held her tight. Taylors cries subsided and held onto Maura as tight as she physically could.

"Honey, I need to examine and clean your cuts, why don't we go into mine and Ma's bedroom, okay?" Maura said, stroking Taylor's head causing Taylor to stand up in a panic hearing her Ma's name.

"No, no, no, we can't tell Ma, please don't tell Ma, please" Taylor said pacing back and forth. Maura stood up and sat on the bed, waiting for Taylor to calm down. Maura learned long ago that when Taylor ever became overwhelmed with any kind of emotion Taylor always paced, or had some kind of physical reaction. It's been years since she has seen her pace back and forth like this.

After about five minutes Taylor calmed down and stood nervously in the room. Maura walked over to her and put her arm around her. "Lets go clean those cuts, alright sweetie?" Taylor just nodded in response.

Maura grabbed her first aid bag out of the master bathroom while Taylor sat on her mom's bed.

"Mom, do you have to tell Ma? I don't want her to be mad at me" Taylor asked while Maura began cleaning the cuts.

"We do honey, she won't be mad, trust me. She loves you very much Tay, we both do" Maura said trying to convince her daughter. Taylor looked at Maura with tears in her eyes.

"I'm such a freak" Taylor said quietly to herself, causing Maura to look sternly at her.

"Taylor you are, in no way, a freak. There is nothing wrong with you, nothing at all. Right now your brain and body is looking for a release from the pain that's inside of you. Do you understand honey?" Maura said finishing cleaning the cuts and putting bandages on the deep ones.

Taylor nodded in response, causing Maura to sit on the bed next to her. "I want to hear the words Taylor" Maura said with love and sternness.

"I don't mom, I don't understand anything. I'm so stupid, and dumb, and a, a loser" Taylor said starting to cry again. Maura pulled Taylor to her chest and rubbed her back trying to calm her down again. A few moments passed and Maura could hear her wife downstairs.

"Hey! Anyone home?" Jane shouted as she made her way upstairs.

With the sound of Janes shoes on the floor down the hall, Taylor hid into Maura's chest, trying to hide from the hard conversation that awaits. Jane found her daughter and wife in the bedroom.

She walked in with caution as to not startle Taylor as Maura waived for her to come in. "Hey, hey what's wrong Tay?" Jane asked taking a seat next to her daughter.

Taylor looked up at Maura not sure what to do or say. Maura rubbed Taylor's shoulder and smiled. "Well, today got beat up after school, and when I was cleaning her cuts and looking over bruises Taylor showed me her self harm cuts" Maura said giving Jane a 'will talk in depth later' look. Jane was taken back for a moment, but quickly realized her daughter needed her to be strong.

"Taylor, hon, we are going to get through this, we are going to get you help, but we need you to know that we love you so much, so, so much" Jane said trying to make eye contact with her daughter.

Taylor moved from Maura's chest and looked at Jane. "Mom already said all of that" Taylor said, giving a small smile to Jane, causing Jane and Maura to smile back.

"I'm not surprised" Jane said smiling at Maura.

"Are you mad at me Ma?" Jane asked avoiding eye contact. Jane was taken off guard by the question.

"Of course not honey, I'm not mad at all" Jane said rubbing Taylors back

Taylor hugged Maura tightly while Jane rubbed her back for a while longer until Taylor let out a yawn.

"I think you should take a short nap before dinner, what do you think honey?" Maura said, shifting to look at Taylor, resulting in Taylor nodding her head.

"Umm would it be okay, if I slept in here?" Taylor asked quietly. Maura and Jane smiled at the request.

"Of course sweetie" Jane said, getting the covers pulled down. Taylor crawled into the large bed and Maura tucked her in. She gave her a kiss and so did Jane. The couple went into the hallway where Jane stopped Maura.

"I don't know what to do Jane, she's so broken, you should have seen her" Maura said as she started crying into Jane's arm.

"Hey, we'll work through it love, she'll be okay" Jane said, hugging her wife. The two embraced one another trying to stay strong for the other.
