The Doctor immediately went to the controls.

"6 pm, Tuesday. October. 5,006. On the way to Barcelona! Now then," he said, straightening up at turning excitedly to Rose. "Wot do I look like? No, no, no, no, no, no, no! No, don't tell me! Let's see, two legs, two arms, two hands, slight weakness in the dorsal tubercle. Hair! I'm not bald! Ooh, big hair. Sideburns! I've got sideburns! Or really bad skin. Little bit thinner, that's weird. Give me time, I'll get used to it. I have got a mole. I can feel it, in between my shoulder blades, there's a mole. That's alright, love the mole. Go on then, tell me. What d'ya think?"

The Doctor beamed at her. Rose couldn't help but stare. It was him; it was the Doctor. John. She had tried to prepare herself for his regeneration, but seeing the face of her late husband again just floored her. Every moment with this Doctor and with John suddenly came flooding into her brain and she couldn't stop the reel.

"Rose?" He asked, suddenly very self-conscious.

"Sorry, uh," her voice shook without her consent. "lot to take in, is all."

"It's me Rose, I promise. It's me, it's the Doctor. I was dying. To save my life I changed my body, every single cell, but it's still me." He was mistaking her reaction for disbelief. Well, that was easier to explain than the real reason behind her silence.

"Prove it." She said. She wanted to hear it again, hear it from him.

"Very first word I said to you," he said lowly, walking towards her. "trapped in that cellar, surrounded by shop window dummies, ooh, such a long time ago. I took your hand." Rose didn't dare move her eyes from his, but she felt his hand grasp hers. "I said one word, just one word, I said, run."

"Doctor." She whispered.

"Hello." He smiled. She smiled back and jumped into his arms. He let out a little noise of surprise, but instantly his arms were around her. He breathed her in. This new body was almost intoxicated by her smell. Finally, reluctantly, they let each other go.

"And we never stopped, did we!" He cried, running around the TARDIS console. "All across the universe! Running, running, running. And that one time we went to Hop. Remember that? Hopping for our lives?" He started hopping on one foot as if to demonstrate and Rose couldn't help but laugh at how manic he was. He stopped and just stared at her in awe, watching her throw back her head in laughter made one of his hearts skip a beat.

"So, this little trick of yours," Rose said, pointing her finger up and down the Doctor. "why didn'tcha tell me 'bout it?"

"Oh, well, never came up in conversation, now did it?" The Doctor said defensively, tugging his ear. He always did that when he felt bashful, this version of him anyways.

"Yeah, but a little warning might've been nice." Rose laughed lightly. The Doctor loved that laugh. The Doctor loved all her laughs. The Doctor loved...

"Doctor, can I go home?" His face immediately fell at Rose's words. "No, not like that. I just wanna visit my mum. Kinda left in a rush, wanna let her know I'm alright."

"Oh, yeah, of course!" He perked back up. "Cancel Barcelona. Change to London, the Powell Estate, uh, let's say 24th of December. Consider it a Christmas present."

"Oh, yeah, mum's gonna love that." She laughed.

"It's all waiting. Fish and chips, sausage and mash, beans on toast… No, Christmas! Turkey! Although, having met your mother, nut loaf would be more appropriate."

"Oi!" She exclaimed, laughing anyways.

He couldn't help staring at her as she laughed. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Then again, she always looked gorgeous to him, no matter if she was laughing or sleeping or running; every angel of Rose Tyler was flawless.

"Doctor?" She giggled, bringing him out of his stupor. "Wotcha starring at?"

"Sorry? Oh, nothin', just… eyes, theyre a bit different is all, might be a bit farsighted, colors could be brighter, nothing a good pair of specs couldn't help."

She smiled at him and the Doctor couldn't help but think about how well she was taking this. He was about to comment on it when he let out a pained groan and doubled over. Uh-oh.

"Doctor! Wot's happenin'?" She asked, rushing over to him in concern.

This was going to be bad, Rose remembered. After the rush of the GameStation and all the emotion there, she wished she'd be able to catch a break. Now, though, she was going to have to face this next adventure without him. He let out another groan, then righted up and a puff of golden smoke released from his lungs.

"The change is going a bit wrong, I'm all…" He groaned and doubled over again. If it weren't for Rose helping him stay on his feet, he would've collapsed.

Suddenly the TARDIS started shaking violently. Rose held on to both the console and the Doctor, trying to keep them steady. Without a pilot and only a destination, the TARDIS would surely crash.

"Doctor, c'mon, you gotta fly the TARDIS, I dunno how!" Rose exclaimed as warning bells began to sound. The Doctor, however, was starting to get dizzy. "Doctor! We're gonna crash!"

Rose tried to remember which lever did what but everything was moving too fast. The Doctor slipped out of her hands and crashed into the grating, still conscious but barely. Rose did the only thing she could think of and covered his body with hers.

A few bumps and a crash later, they stopped. Rose hoisted the Doctor up, but he was a bit delirious. He staggered his way to the doors.

"Here we are, then." He made his way out, must've run into Mickey and her mum. Rose ran after him, but when she got there, he was already passed out on the ground.

"Is he alright?" Rose asked them frantically, bending down to the Doctor.

"I dunno, he just keeled over. But who is he, where's the Doctor?" Mickey asked quickly.

"This is the Doctor." Rose answered simply. She cradled his face in her hands. He was cold, but that was normal, Time Lords having a lower body temperature than humans and all.

"Wotcha mean that's the Doctor?" Her mum asked frantically. "Doctor who?"

A/N: So, I don't know if all of you have seen the Red Nose special that they did with Doctor Who in 2005, but that's what this chapter is based on. I will be taking a bit of a break from writing because I just got a new job with more hours so I'm gonna be juggling that along with college and writing this, but fear not! I will be back as soon as I can! Enjoy!
