Unrequited
You stare at him across the street
You watch as he embraces his lover
Where he said, they would meet
Even though you wish it was another
You feel a tear slide down your cheek
As he bends down on one knee
While the hope inside you that became weak
Is now gone, watching something you don't want to see
Oh, how your heart burns
As another tear escapes your eye
Making your stomach turn
As you a exhale a broken sigh
It's almost like a sad song
'He no longer needs you,' you think
For while you gaze at the boy you have loved so long
You feel your abused and battered heart, sink
You turn away from the scene
Glad that you have enough cash
For a bus to take you away from what you've seen
As you feel your heart turn to ash
