Author's Note: Promise I don't own anything related to Blindspot. Just trying to pass the time with some fluff before the premiere.
The sunlight streamed through the window, and Jane stirred as she woke up. The memories from last night came flooding back, and for a moment, she feared it was all a dream. Just two days ago, this had all seemed impossible. But now here she was, tangled up with the man she loved, her head resting on his chest, and his fingers gently rubbing up and down her arm. Letting out a contented sigh, she snuggled closer to him as she opened her eyes.
"Good morning," she whispered, pressing a gentle kiss against his chest.
Kurt wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer so he could kiss the top of her head. "Marry me."
Jane paused, a shocked gasp escaping her lips. "What?" Surely she had misheard, twisted his words in the haze of happiness and sleep. She lifted her head, turning to face him, trying to read his expression.
"Marry me," he repeated, his voice steady as he gazed into her eyes.
Jane stared at him, her breath caught in her throat. Marriage? The same person who had long ago declared himself "too choosy"? So much had changed since then. They'd been through so much together, and she loved him, and he loved her. When Hirst had talked about her future, it was Kurt she saw. It was then she noticed her hand – positioned over his heart, feeling the steady beat under her palm. The same heartbeat that had given her so much comfort over the past months, the same beat she had felt all that time ago, bringing her down from the edge. Their hearts had always beat in unison. There was not a doubt in her mind as a smile spread across her face. "Yes."
