What's up guys! I'm back with a fourth story. Why? I want to do it. It's fun. This will be Fairy Tail, but that's why you clicked this story. Anyway, I want to tell you this. Natsu will be over powered, but I have a reason. I feel in canon, that he is weak and is really stupid. A good fighter, but weak. Also, I will really power up most of the large enemies like Mard Geer and Acnologia and basically everyone that isn't human. So, people like Erza or Gray will be stronger, but they won't be as powered up as Natsu or other enemies in this story. I will change the story a lot, so expect changes. Large events that are important for character development like Tower of Haven and Tenrou will stay, things like Deloria won't though. ON with the chapter! What kind of powers should Natsu have, and specifically Dragon slayer magic?

VERY IMPORTANT: this story is currently being partially rewritten. The first chapter is already done. For every new chapter, one old chapter will be updated until everything is nice and neat. Thanks!

Natsu glanced around trying to find his father. It was often that he disappeared for days on end. This time though, they were in the middle of a game of hide and seek. An eight-year-old child had to have some sort of fun, right? How hard could it be to find one dragon nearly the size of a mountain? Natsu closed his eyes and tried to focus on his sense of smell. Natsu's eyes snapped open and he raced off. Natsu ran for a good five minutes before coming to a rather large clearing. It wasn't uncommon for him to come around this area. It was marred with scorch marks craters. Natsu had fond memories of trying to blow trees up or light things on fire when he was first learning magic. Natsu eyes immediately registered his father, Igneel. He couldn't see anyone else but everything around him seemed eerily calm and his senses told him that there was someone else around. He focused on his senses once again and smelt around. It didn't reveal much as Igneel had a rather overpowering smell, though there was an undertone of another dragon. It was very faint but it was present. Natsu next focused on his hearing. This yielded similar results. He could easily pinpoint Igneel but there, once again, was a background noise. It was a lighter, raspy noise as compared to Igneel's deep rumbling. Natsu focused and sat down. He was mildly aware of Igneel's eyes boring into him. Natsu felt around him, systematically searching area by area. Natsu found slight oddities but couldn't find any concrete source of everything. Natsu checked everywhere he could think of, off to his left, right, in front of him, behind him, nothing was above him or below even. Natsu's brows furrowed, if he wasn't in any one direction, could he be around him?

Natsu breathed in and sat still once more. Before long his eyes snapped open. No sooner had Natsu shot up to his feet and ran to Igneel, the ground slowly started to shift and change as the small parts of the ground and foliage around him began to break off. They combined around a central area, loosely resembling a dragon-like form. Scales and wings were slowly shaped by various parts of the environment around them. It stood about half the size of Igneel yet it had almost no presence. It had an almost ethereal form with parts constantly shifting around, though they always maintained the same rough shape. It's voice came almost as a whisper though it held unprecedented power, echoing through Natsu's head as he spoke.

"I'm impressed. Not many are able to find me, and far fewer are but mere children."

"Ah but that's because not many are like Natsu," Igneel said.

"So it seems."

"Dad?" Natsu asked, "Who is that?"

"A dragon who's name is long forgotten," Igneel said, moving until he was laying down, "The first dragon."

"How come nobody knows your name?" Natsu asked curiously.

"Knowledge is power, youngling. A name holds untold power over an individual and not all wish to so freely give this power."

"Okay," Natsu said, scratching his head, "So why are you here?"

"Natsu!" Igneel groaned, "Manners."

"Kids are always straight to the point now aren't they Igneel? Well, Youngling, I was talking to your father about something you might be interested in. You see, I have gone around testing the dragon slayers and none of them have the potential you do. I'm not surprised though, you are the son of the Fire Dragon King after all. Look at how he turned out, and his other son too."

"I have a brother?" Natsu asked.

"Yes though I'm not sure what he's up to these days," Igneel grumbled, "Now shut up and pay attention."

"Okay!" Natsu chirped.

"None of the other younglings were able to tell that I was here. That was not surprising but you. You are a child and yet here we are, having this conversation. The last time that happened was some four-hundred odd years ago. You have unimaginable potential."

"Cool!" Natsu said, looking around, "What does that mean, exactly?"

Igneel groaned and shook his head, "He's trying to say he wants you to come back with us."

"Come back where?" Natsu asked.

"The dragon realm," the other dragon shifted, "You see, there was a plan for every dragon with a human child to disappear tomorrow, and as I have done with all dragon slayers before you, I have checked whether or not they had the potential. You are one of two people who have ever sensed me. The last one came to us, and now you will too."

"So I get to train more?" Natsu asked.

"Among other things," Igneel said. Natsu, being eight, yelled in delight and began to dance around. The older dragon found it amusing. Igneel was embarrassed.

Time progressed and Natsu had grown in both mind and body. At eighteen years of age, Natsu wasn't the tallest but he was extremely fit with unruly salmon hair that hung well past his ears with the longest reaching down to his shoulders, though those were few. With abnormally sharp canines and an open, black and gold trimmed sleeveless coat with white baggy pants that ended in black bands just below his knees, he was quite intimidating. He had a black and red band around the top of his left arm near the top of his bicep with a red and black stylized dragon tattoo covering the middle of his bicep to the middle of his forearm just under it. He was well muscled though not overly so with a cut body that was fairly well defined. His eyes were onyx with a yellow-red ring around it. He had taken on more draconian traits as he grew older and stronger. His stomach was made of iron and needed to be filled often in order to accommodate for the amount of energy his body used. His skin was tougher, almost seeming more like scaly hide than human skin. His senses were sharper than most any animal and even most dragons but for good reason. Stronger dragons typically had better senses. To top it all off, Natsu wore a white scarf that seemed to be made of scales.

Natsu had just gotten out of a stream by his den and dried off when he heard the familiar beat of wings and the loud crash of his father dropping down onto the ground near him.

"Natsu, you know what time it is," Igneel said.

"I know," Natsu said, slipping on his pants, "Just wanted to clean off before I did anything else ya know?"

"Don't forget though, you are allowed to visit at any time, you know how to get back," Igneel said before looking at him, "And, just in case you want to get in touch, I'll try to make sure someone knows where I am."

"Ask Grandeeney, got it," Natsu said, wrapping his white scarf around his neck.

"That's not..." Igneel trailed off before sighing, "yes."

"Guess it had to happen sometime," Natsu said to himself, "I've had so little time around my own species."

"It's important to be around humans you know. You're isolated here," Igneel rumbled, "And with only a handful of exceptions, it's been that way most of your life."

"Yeah I know," Natsu said, "I'll visit often!"

As he said that, he chuckled. He'd probably forget and both he and Igneel knew it. Igneel smacked his son with one of his claws causing Natsu to growl and shoot a spear of ice at him before laughing as Igneel struggled to avoid the projectile. Natsu laughed to himself before sitting down. Ten years of being away from humans and here he was. He'd experienced many things and come to terms with many things about the world and himself. In the ten year span, Natsu had learned several different forms of dragon slayer magic as well as other useful ones. A good mage was one who was versatile. Natsu was a fire mage through and through but even then, his other magics weren't slouchy. He could even pass some of them off as his main magic to others. In the time Natsu had been around the dragons, Natsu had grown used to doing several things, with suppressing his magical energy and keeping his senses under tight control being the biggest things.

With magic pools the size of oceans, it could be extremely overwhelming for anyone, even non-mages. Natsu ambled around for a good hour before finally deciding it was time to leave. He bent down and took of his coat in order to stash it away in his pocket dimension. Oh man was requip magic useful. Natsu groaned as bones slowly started to sprout from his back and the base of his spine before they were covered by muscle and finally hide and scales. Natsu stood up with a pair of red and black scaly wings behind him that sprouted out from two crescent shapes on his back and a tail that ended in a large golden barb at the end with a row of spines that sprouted from the base of the neck down to the barb of his tail. He stretched for a second before gently flapping his wings and taking off.

Natsu dove down through the clouds after a little bit of flying. Flying was always a treat for Natsu. After all, who didn't love the feeling of wind rushing through one's hair and the feeling of speeding around, completely free of obstruction? Natsu saw a forest fast approaching and quickly tucked his wings in before blowing them out to their fullest in order to slow him. The tip of his tail barb slashed the ground, leaving only the tiniest of gashes in the dirt. Perfect stop. His wings slowly tucked back into his back and his tail shrunk down until it was once again part of his spine. He sighed in content before looking around and running off in one direction. It didn't take him long to run into civilization, humans often spread long and far. What Natsu was looking for was a good pint. He couldn't get drunk but damn did it taste good. Natsu walked around, taking in the sights of the city he was in. He smelled around and quickly smelt something extremely tasty. Naturally, he followed his nose.

He ended up outside of a building with a big sign that designated it as "Fairy Tail". Natsu chuckled, cute name. Natsu could hear all sorts of trouble going on inside. This seemed like a place for him. Natsu opened the door and immediately got hit in the head with a table. Perfect! Natsu was good at a good many things, but none so much as destruction. He loved to destroy things. Natsu briefly registered the person flying towards him. Natsu reached out and snagged his shirt and stopped him from flying out of the hall. He was a big man, a muscle-bound freak if one had to describe him. Eyes snapped towards the new person in the guild who had easily caught the heaviest person in the guild.

"He caught Elfman…" someone muttered.

"So that's your name?" Natsu asked to the person he caught.

"Finally! A REAL MAN!" Elfman shouted loudly causing Natsu to wince.

Natsu decided that maybe he should start, "Names Natsu."

"Well, Natsu, welcome to Fairy Tail!" a person shouted.

Natsu set Elfman down and walked over to the bar. He planned on ordering a nice bottle of beer, but maybe that was too much to ask.

"Hello, my name's Mirajane, call me Mira," a bubbly voice came from behind the counter.

"Natsu."

"What can I get you?" Mira asked.

"Uh, what's the strongest you've got?"

"It's pretty good, I like drinking it from time to time." Mira asked.

"Can I have a glass then?" Natsu asked.

"Of course," Mira said as she disappeared behind the counter, moving around with experienced ease. She came back with a large glass and a bottle of clear liquid. They made idle conversation as she poured his glass and set it in front of the salmon headed man.

"So, why have you come to Fairy Tail?" Mira asked, looking over Natsu.

"Uh," Natsu said taking a sip, "oh that's good. Anyway, I just smelt something really good so I followed my nose."

"You were able to smell cooking over the alcohol?"

"No I smelt the alcohol first but I'd like to say my senses are a lot sharper than most," Natsu said as he rested his head on his hand and tapped his nose a few times.

"I'd say. So where'd you come from?" Mira asked, her eyes surveying the guildhall, "Oh and would you like something to eat?"

"I should say no, but give me everything you think I can handle," Natsu chuckled, "And I'm not from anywhere in particular. Anywhere I felt like making a den really."

"How does fish with roasted potatoes sound?" Mira asked, "And den?"

"Sounds wonderful!" Natsu said before flipping a hand up and grabbing a spear of ice out of the air. He promptly snapped part of it off and popped it into his drink yeah,"den. You know, dragon's have their dens and whatnot?"

While Mira noticed Natsu eating the ice, she paid it no mind. She'd seen stranger things and it wasn't like it was inedible, it was just frozen water, "I always thought dragons had more of a horde than a den but I suppose it makes sense."

"I mean sure, we have our hordes but it's not all gold and stuff you know? It's more like important items to us," Natsu said, glancing behind him and snatching a bottle out of the air that would have not so lightly hit Mirajane.

"You're not going to eat that too are you?" Mira said as she glanced up from her cleaning, "And what do you mean we?"

"Didn't plan on it no," Natsu said as he threw it back where it came from, hitting one now irate ice mage who decided to smack the person next to him, and us dragons."

"So you're a dragon then," Mira said, giving Natsu a once over, "You're kinda small for a dragon aren't you?"

"Oh no, not a full dragon. Only mostly a dragon," Natsu said, downing the last of his drink only to have Mira place a plate full of food in front of him. He proceeded to dig in and spoke to Mira while rather large bites and swallowing the food at almost an impossible speed, "I'm a dragon slayer!"

"A dragon slayer? Never heard of one," Mira said, already halfway into making more food.

"Really? There's..." Natsu trailed off, "Oh well that makes sense actually, it is a lost magic after all. Most of the time you have to learn it from a dragon but you can implant a lacrima sometimes. This is amazing thank you so much!"

"Oh that's interesting. What kind of magic do you use?"

"Only the best type of magic!" Natsu shouted, "Fire dragon magic!"

One ice mage's ears perked up, having heard the statement, "Say it again!"

Natsu's eyes glinted as he looked back, "You heard me. Fire dragon slayer magic is the best!"

"Prove it!"

"Oh happily," Natsu said as he leapt from his chair and dashed over to the ice mage. They exchanged names in the middle of fighting, if you could call it that. Gray's ice simply melted when it got near Natsu and everyone in the guild noticed. Gray was no slouch in terms of power. Gray swung an ice hammer at Natsu and it simply melted where it would have touched him with the head looking like someone had taken a hot knife through it. Eventually, Natsu slammed a fist down onto Gray's head and he went out like a light. The guild members simply continued on with their business. Natsu walked back over to the bar where Mirajane handed him another plate of food.

"Am I going to have to start keeping a tally of your fights?" Mira laughed.

"Only if you want to," Natsu smiled.

"Well, you're a mage right? Do you plan on joining the guild?" Mira asked. Natsu thought to himself for a bit before responding.

"Sure! If it means I get to eat more of this cooking and fight I'm in!" Natsu chuckled. He didn't miss Gray walking up behind him to sit at the bar.

"You're going to fit right in," Gray chuckled.

"I'd agree with you Gray," Mira said, "So Natsu, you took Gray down. How strong would you say you are?"

"Hey! It was one time Firecracker over here got lucky!" Gray said, jerking his thumb at Natsu.

"I'll show you lucky!" Natsu yelled. They were quickly interrupted by a sword splitting the area that both had previously inhabited.

"Oh Erza! It's good to see you back," Mira said cheerily.

"Yes it is, thank you Mira. Now," Erza said before turning to the pair, "Did I hear you two fighting?"

Gray immediately put his hands up before and spoke in a falsetto, "No no not at all! Just a conversation between two pals! Isn't that right Natsu?"

Natsu was confused. He looking in the reflection of Erza's armor to see Mira nod her head, "Yeah! Of course! I was just telling Gray how I didn't get lucky."

"Looks like your new around here. Natsu's the name? Well Natsu, I don't want to see any more fighting or arguing out of you and Gray, got it," Erza questioned.

"Why would we do-" Natsu began to ask before Mirajane pulled him back and covered his mouth with her hand.

"Of course, can I get you a Strawberry cheesecake?" Mira asked sweetly. Natsu's mind was currently blank. Uh oh.

"Of course!" Erza said in a far lighter tone. Gray breathed out a sigh of relief. After a satisfied Erza left, and a still scared Gray left, Natsu and Mira were left alone.

"Oh I'm sorry Natsu!" Mira said, "In all the commotion I never got you your guild stamp!"

"Oh that's okay! What's a guild stamp?" Natsu asked curiously.

"It marks you as a member of Fairy Tail!" Mira said cheerily, "Where would you want yours?"

"Uh, let's get it on my right bicep," Natsu said, "can I choose the color?"

"Sure! What would you like?"

"Can I get red?" Natsu asked. Mira nodded and played around with the stamp for a second before pressing the hot stamp against his arm. The guild heard that they had another member and went through the normal routine, lots of beer and a brawl.

"So do you plan on going to do any jobs?" Mira asked.

"Well, I've just arrived, and I haven't spent much time as a true mage. So… I'm not entirely sure what to do," Natsu said, rubbing his head, "Any tips?"

"Alright, I got it. So there are multiple levels of jobs. You have the normal level which can be completed without much issue. Then there are the S-class jobs. These can last as long as a year, and are very difficult. Then you have SS-class jobs that are also known as decade quests. They are rarely completed, mostly left to Guild aces and Wizard Saints.

Lastly, you have the SSS-class jobs. They are the hardest, and only the Ishgar 4 and five other people are considered able to return alive, much less complete them. Only two people have ever completed them, God Serena and our Guild Ace. He is currently on one as we-" Mira said before being cut off by a large siren, "Well I guess you'll get to meet him then."

"Warning! Gildarts Shift has now commenced. All citizens must return to their homes immediately," a voice rang out loudly as the entire city began to rumble and shake as entire sections of it were moved to accommodate for the man.

Suddenly the rumbling stopped for a second, only for a wall to crumble into small cubes and a path of white energy headed straight towards the bar. The flooring behind the blast becoming cubes. Everyone stared in horror as it headed straight towards the new guy. Natsu glanced over from his conversation with Mira to see it. Natsu casually placed his hand out and stopped the blast, not even moving as the force of the blast stopping forced most of the things behind him to shatter or crumble. Natsu promptly went back to his conversation with Mira. The rest of the guild just gaped and a few passed out. Mira had turned around so she had no idea what had happened. It was normal for a blast like that to come tearing through when Gildarts arrived.

"I'm back!" a cheerful voice rang out from the destroyed wall. Said figure had orange hair and blue eyes and wore a black tattered cloak and grey clothes. Natsu's nose had picked him up long before he entered the city confines. He'd sensed Gildarts even longer before then.

"Natsu?" Gildarts asked as he raced over to Natsu, small tremors going off every time he took a step.

"How's it been old man?" Natsu asked, hopping off his bar stool.

"A lot better since you staved off that beast with me," Gildarts said.

"Hey Gildarts," Mira said as she appeared behind the counter, "You know Natsu?"

"Hell yeah!" he shouted, "Who do you think helped me with my quest."

"You just said it was some kid with salmon hair and… Oh never mind," Mira said.

"Yeah, we met on our mission, and traveled around for bit. He taught me crash magic," Natsu said.

"Are you finally done with your training?" Gildarts asked Natsu.

"Actually, I got done a day ago and came here on accident," Natsu said, "We still have a bet you know."

"I know, the score is 2-3, in my favor. You ready to lose?" Gildarts taunted.

"I can't wait. I'm all fired up! You only got lucky because I was recovering," Natsu yelled. Natsu registered a small, white haired man land on the bar.

"Ah, Gildarts," he said before noticing Natsu, "Hello my child, who might you be?"

"Natsu. Natsu Dragneel," Natsu laughed.

"Gildarts, I want you to tell me how your quest went at some point," Makarov said.

"Did the old man give you the reward?" Natsu asked.

"He did," Gildarts said. Makarov who knew nothing of Natsu and Gildarts' apparent knowledge of each other was concerned how this new mage knew of Gildarts' quest.

"Natsu my boy, how exactly do you know about the quest?"

"Oh I happened to run into him because we were going after the same thing and I helped him out," Natsu said, popping a forkful of potato into his mouth.

"I''m sorry, I think I misheard you. You helped Gildarts?" Makarov asked in disbelief.

"You should get your hearing checked then Gramps, I'm right here," Natsu said, staring at Makarov intently. Makarov must've understood because he dropped the subject.

"Well Gildarts, I expect you in my office at some point, I need to talk to you about various things," Makarov said before grabbing a drink and heading off to where ever he was going.

Natsu chuckled to himself, he couldn't have everyone knowing how strong he was. He continued eating his food, gods it was good, thank goodness for Mira's cooking. Natsu's thoughts wandered to the platinum blonde barmaid. She was kind despite not knowing him all that well, though most everyone in the guild seemed pretty nice. Except maybe that Erza person. She seemed like the no fun, no nonsense kinda person like the old man. Natsu thought about his life for a moment, from being "abandoned" by his parents to being revived by Zeref who then had to leave in fear of killing Natsu, and then training with his dragon family for nearly ten years. And now, he was sitting here, waiting in a guild until something came up or he felt like moving. Natsu almost didn't register the hand that rested on his shoulder but he did. He turned to find Gray staring at him with an annoyed expression. Natsu heated up his body and Gray immediately yanked the offending hand away.

"Ouch what the heck was that for Matchstick?" Gray yelled.

"Don't go around touching people Ice Princess!" Natsu rumbled back, jumping up from his seat. The two immediately butted heads and started arguing, only to be stopped this time by Alzack grabbing both of them and pushing them out towards the back so they wouldn't destroy anything. The rest of the guild chuckled, Natsu would fit right in.

Natsu strolled back in with an unconscious Gray being dragged behind him. The rest of the guild looked at the Natsu who was unscathed and one of the strongest members of the guild being down and out on the floor. Natsu dropped Gray off with one of the other guild members and walked back over to Mira who had motioned for him to come over.

"Hey Natsu, I wanted to know if you planned on going on any jobs right now or if you'd rather sit back and wait," Mira said.

"Well," Natsu trailed off and scratched the back of his head, "I guess I'll start doing them now then!"

"Alright well, just because you haven't really been around much you should probably find someone to go on your first job with, just to show you the ropes," Mira said, polishing a glass and hanging it on the rack.

"Well why don't you just come with me then?" Natsu asked curiously. Mira's eyes flashed dangerously and counter groaned where she held it, "If it's because there's a lock on your magic, I can fix that."

"What?" Mira asked.

"Well, your magic is locked away. I know how to free it so you can use it again," Natsu said.

"And how do you know that?" Mira asked.

"It's not an uncommon thing to happen to people who've had a hard time with something in their life," Natsu said, "It often happens to a dragon when they lose their mate and so we've come up with a solution to it."

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to try, but I want to think about it first," Mira said.

"Alright, tell me what job you want to go on then!" Natsu said cheerily before Natsu flashed a heartwarming smile and walked out of the guild hall.

Hey guys. Do you want the paring to be Natsu x Mira or Natsu x Erza? Those are the only two that I will do in this story. Or Both? I guess I can work that in.
