Summary: When Izuku was 5, he found and rescued a baby crow. Years later, Izuku's crow would follow him to UA… along with dozens of its Quirked offspring. A hilarious series of related one-shots featuring Izuku and his Murder Mob.

So a few things first. My headcanon is that Quirked animals are rare but not uncommon for a reason. See, most if not all, governments have laws that forbid animal abuse. Because Quirks are too recent in human history to include Quirked animal rights in their agenda, it means that the laws don't take them into account at all. In other words, certain governments, like Japan in this story, have really vague laws that allow people to legally and discreetly hire people to poach and/or exterminate Quirked animals. Mostly due to their desire to make it so that humans are the only species that can benefit from having a Quirk Factor. But it's only "legal" if the public doesn't find out. Which is why Nedzu is able to become a Pro-Hero and UA's principal because word somehow got out about his appalling abuse and experimentation at the hands of the human scientists, and the government wasn't able to sweep it all under the rug like they'd normally do.

But on a lighter note, I've always headcanon-ed that the BNHA universe takes place about 200 years after the manga first debuted. Don't know if The Godfather series would continue to be a cultural classic after so long, but let's pretend that it is.

Prologue: Corvus

"Are these the targets?"

"Yeah, man. Let's get this over with. Just shoot these motherfuckers dead, and get the fuck out before we're caught."

"Hey, I think I see a nest or two. Should we send someone up there to smash the eggs or something?"

"Nah, too much of a hassle. Just focus on getting both sets of parents. You know how it goes in the wild. Some hawk or owl will probably get to them sooner or later. Let Mother Nature take care of the rest for us."

"Ugh, the shitty government's not paying us enough for this. Last week, it was that whole herd of those Nara deer, now it's these fucking crows. I swear, these filthy Quirked animals are popping up everywhere."

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Cold.

Cold and hungry.

A Predator came after Cousin Nest.

Now Cousin Nest is silent and empty.

Nest is broken.

Siblings and Self fell down very far.

One sibling went silent immediately.

One by one, rest of siblings have gone silent much later.

Now only Self is left.

What had happened to Sire and [Progenitor]?

Sire and [Progenitor] never returned after they fell out of Nest when the loud noise sounded.

Why didn't Sire and [Progenitor] return to Nest after the loud noise went away?

Were siblings and Self bad Hatchlings to make Sire and [Progenitor] abandoned them?

So cold and so hungry. Self feels so weak. Self feels so scared.

Cannot call for Sire and [Progenitor] anymore.

Self… doesn't want to…

"There! I can hear it! It's coming from behind that bush!"

What is that voice? Is that another Predator?

"Oh no! Mommy, look at this nest. This baby bird is the only one left, and it's dying. Can't we help it?"

"Oh no, the poor thing. Wait, what's that- OH MY GOODNESS!"

"Mommy, what's wrong?"

"...Izuku, sweetie. don't look behind this tree. I think some trigger-happy hunters have gotten to the parents."

Oh…

Sire and [Progenitor] hadn't abandoned Self and Siblings.

But Sire and [Progenitor] would never be able to return either.

If there is no Sire and Progenitor to take care of Self…

...

Then Self will…

"I know! I'll be its new daddy! I'll take good care of it! Please, mommy! Can you let me?"

…!

"I-I don't know, sweetie. It's a big responsibility to take care of a bird. Are you sure you're up for it?"

"Yes, I promise. I'll work very hard and study lots about what kind of bird it is so I'll know what to do!"

"Alright."

"Yay!"

"But only until it becomes an adult. Then, we'll have to let it go back home in the forest, okay."

Self is being picked up by something large and gentle.

Self should be afraid…

But Self feels warm and safe.

"Now we should at least give it a name. What do you think, Izuku?"

"Umm… Let me think about it first."

It took Izuku three whole days to decide on the hatchling's name. While he was trying to find out what species of bird it was, he came across information about corvidae, aka corvids, whose description lined up with the type of bird the mysterious hatchling is. From then on, Izuku began calling the hatchling, "Corvus".

About two months later, Corvus had grown enough to be released back into the wild.

Three years later, Inko and Izuku were pleasantly surprised when they found a familiar looking crow tapping at their window. However, he wasn't alone.

He had a female crow beside him.

Omake 1: A Matter of Taste

"Again? You want to watch 'The Godfather' again? This is the fifth time this week!"

"CAW!"

"Ugh, I don't get what's so amazing about this old movie. It's like two-hundred-and-fifty years old!"

"CAW!"

"You know, maybe I should just call you 'Godfather' since you love this movie so much. I mean, I can't keep calling you 'Corvus's Wife'. It's too much of a mouthful."

"CAW! CAW! CAW!"

"I'm glad you approved of the name. Enjoy the movie… Godfather."

"CAW~!"

AN: So I already have much of the story planned out. I just need to get around to finish writing it and then posting it up. Some shenanigans include the crows finding corpses, and poor Izuku trying and failing to get them to not eat them for the police (and Izuku trying to explain himself to the police); Izuku giving out the title of "Godparents" to his classmates and allowing them to name their respective Hatchlings; Bakugou getting salty that "King Explosion Murder" and their offspring "Lord Explosion Murder" both stole his first choices for Hero Codenames; a Post-Hosu Tenya hurt/comfort scene where Izuku invites him to name his newly hatch crow baby after his brother (and Tensei loving his new birb nephew); and Tokoyami's tendency to give his Murder Mob godchildren edgy or Lovecraftian names.
