The Bet
"It's our last game," Marcus said, pulling up from his dive to hover beside Oliver, who'd just arrived for a pre-match warm up. "Fancy a bet to make it more... interesting?"
Rubbing talcum powder on his hands, Oliver raised his eyebrow. "What did you have in mind?"
"Loser has to pay for dinner in Hogsmeade, on the next free weekend?"
Oliver rolled his eyes. "No need to tease, Flint. I was drunk when I propositioned you - I promised it wouldn't happen again."
Mounting his own broom, Oliver took off, leaving Marcus hovering at ground level, a sad but determined look on his face.
"Congratulations."
Oliver looked up to find Marcus leaning against the door to the locker room.
He nodded, standing up from the bench. "Thanks. You played well."
Marcus nodded, stepping forward, closing the door behind him. He cast a locking spell before putting his wand back in his pocket, turning to Oliver with a cocky smile on his face.
"Looks like I owe you dinner," he murmured, sauntering forward until he was standing directly in front of Oliver.
"I didn't agree to the bet," Oliver replied, a light blush covering his cheeks. "You don't owe me any-"
He was cut off by lips covering his. Oliver's hand automatically raised to rest against the warm skin of Marcus' neck, as Marcus' hand stroked along his side, fingers skimming underneath his t-shirt.
"What if I want to take you to dinner anyway?" Marcus asked as he pulled back, his head tilting to the side.
"This isn't a plan to embarrass me?" Oliver asked, his eyes searching Marcus' for any sign of duplicity.
"Of course not. If I wanted to embarrass you, I'd spell your hair pink in the Great Hall or something," Marcus replied rolling his eyes. "We're very close to leaving school, Oliver. I'm not in anyway ready to let you out of my life yet."
Seeing nothing other than sincerity and nerves in Marcus' eyes, Oliver nodded. "Okay. But... I think I might need a little more convincing. Kiss me again?"
