Chapter 4: Reactions and the Quest Starts

Artemis couldn't help but let loose a sigh as she tried to calm down her hunters while also listening to her father complain and rant about her breaking her vow. "I can't believe you've broken your vow daughter and with a SHINTO of all beings, explain yourself NOW!" said Zeus.

"Well for starters I never actually vowed to remain a virgin forever, I simply hated men so much that everyone assumed I would forever be a virgin." said Artemis.

"And now the uptight bitch has apparently found the right man to give her a good dicking. Guess you can't judge me anymore now can you." said Aphrodite with a smirk.

"Wrong you foolish whore as unlike you, who has spread her legs for any man that has asked, I have still never laid with a man." said Artemis with her arms crossed. This information caused her hunters to perk up as they were glad their lady didn't lower herself to sleeping with a filthy male.

"So Lucian is a brain child then?" asked Athena. Athena was a very beautiful woman with fair skin, stormy gray eyes, silky black hair done in a bun with curly bangs framing her face, a slender build, long toned legs, wide hips, a narrow waist, a firm ass, and D-cup breasts. For clothes she wore a traditional toga with brown strappy sandals.

"No sister, he is not a brain child." said Artemis.

"Then how could he have possibly come to be if you have not slept with a man and he is not a brain child?" asked Hera. Hera was a very beautiful woman with fair skin, silky black hair, brown eyes, a slender build, long legs, wide hips, a narrow waist, a tight ass, and DD-cup breasts. For clothes she wore a simple yet elegant long golden dress with no sleeves and slits on the sides to show off her legs and golden heels.

"Well first you should know that Lucian doesn't have a father technically as my lover was a woman. It was during one of the times that we were being…...intimate that I somehow tapped into my domain of childbirth and became pregnant with Lucian." explained Artemis.

That shocked everyone into silence as no one really knew how to respond to that. The hunters were glad that their lady's lover turned out to be a woman but still didn't know how to feel about Artemis having a son. "Oh great, you're one of those feminists carpet munchers. You know your kind make it so hard to be a lesbian, you make everyone think that all lesbians are just angry bitches." said Aphrodite.

"I'm a little confused, should it be hot that Artemis is a lesbian or disturbing?" asked Hermes in a whisper to Apollo.

"Disturbing, definitely disturbing." said Apollo in a whisper. Don't get him wrong he loved lesbians, it was only because it was Artemis that he thought it was disturbing.

"Right, just checking." said Hermes.

"Be silent whore, I am nothing like them as my hate for most men is more than valid. And while yes I loved Alyssa none of you have to worry about me having more children." said Artemis.

"Why is that?" asked Demeter. Demeter is yet another beautiful woman with lightly tanned skin, long blonde hair that went down to her waist, bright brown eyes, a slender build, long legs, thick thighs, wide hips, a narrow waist, a plump ass, and D-cup breasts. For clothes she wore a long green dress with no sleeves and slits on the sides, black heels, and a crown of woven corn leaves.

"Because Alyssa is dead and I doubt I'll find anyone else that can make me feel the way she did." said Artemis with a straight face but most of them caught the hurt in her voice.

"Why didn't you tell me I had a nephew?" asked Apollo.

"I couldn't risk Father finding out too soon, becoming paranoid, and killing my son." said Artemis. Everyone nodded at this while Zeus sat there and fumed at the fact that there was someone with Shinto blood in his camp.

"Who has been taking care of him?" asked Demeter.

"The Shinto's have a much closer connection with their demigods so his grandmother has been taking care of him." said Artemis.

"Then it's possible that she had turned him against us!" said Zeus.

"She has done no such thing otherwise he wouldn't have come to camp in the first place!" said Artemis.

Father and daughter would continue to argue back and forth until the argument became ever larger when Zeus remember that Poseidon also had a child.

CAMP HALF-BLOOD

Lucian stood inside his mother's cabin just looking around, there were many beds with different names above them allowing him to know that these belonged to his mother's hunters. When saw the names Rose and Raven he wondered if they were the same girls that he used to look after, he hoped so as he felt they would do well in the Hunt and he would know they were safe. Continuing with his little tour he came to a door that had his name written on it in silver, opening the door he found that inside the room was a nice size with a king sized bed in the middle, many shelves, a work desk, the walls were green with silver wolves on them, and there was a large trophy case. The most important thing he saw though was the three pictures on the wall, one of him as a newborn sleeping in his mother's arms, the next one was of him at about a year old laughing as his mother tickled him, and the last one was of him at about 2 years old smiling as his mother hugged him from behind.

One thing that he really liked about the pictures was that his mom was smiling lovingly at him in all of them. To him this proved that despite his mom's attitude towards men she at least loved him despite his gender. Lucian spent another couple of hours in the cabin before deciding that he couldn't hide inside forever so he went back outside. The moment he stepped outside he was grabbed and dragged off by Annabeth, he was honestly expecting this but still didn't like being dragged around like some kind of doll. He soon found that Annabeth had taken him to the lake where Percy and Grover were waiting for them.

"Alright you have a lot of questions to answer." said Annabeth.

"I figured as much, so what do you want to know?" asked Lucian.

"What's with the the whole grandson of the Shinigami thing?" asked Annabeth.

"It's as it sounds, I am the grandson of the Shinigami." said Lucian.

"So you're telling us that their are other Gods besides the Greek Gods?" asked Annabeth while while taking out a notepad and pen that she got from…...somewhere.

"Yes, there are many different pantheons in the world. If I remember correctly, the only reason you don't know about them is because the Greek Pantheon isn't really on the best of terms with the others." said Lucian.

"Why wouldn't the Gods get along, I mean if their Gods and live forever why spend their time fighting?" asked Percy.

"That is a good question Percy, I can only tell you that from my experience with Gods is that they are very prideful beings. They especially don't like it when a god of the same domain tries to say they are stronger." said Lucian.

"Wait I just realized that you were raised by a Goddess, how is that possible with the Gods being forbidden from raising their children?" asked Annabeth.

"Okay one I'm her grandchild so she's not raising her child. Two, the rules say that the Gods can't interfere with or influence their child's glory or decisions. They can raise us they just can't push us in the direction they want us to go, an example of this is if a god wanted their child to be a hero but the child wanted to be a teacher. The godly parent can't try to change to change the child's mind from being a teacher to being a hero. Three, there is a big difference in parenting styles between the Greeks and the Shintos as the Greeks are very hands off while the Shintos are very hands on. And finally, Shintos just really don't care when it comes to certain rules when it comes to children, they are very family oriented." said Lucian.

"How do you even exist?" asked Grover.

"Do I seriously have to give you "The Talk"?" asked Lucian with a deadpan causing the two demigods and one satyr to blush.

"NO!" said all three of them.

"What he means is who is your father as he must some man to get Artemis to break her vow for him." said Annabeth.

"I don't have a father." said Lucian.

"So you're a brain child like me?" asked Annabeth.

"No, I was born from my mother's womb." said Lucian.

"Are you adopted?" asked Percy.

"No Artemis is my true mother." said Lucian.

"...I think you're the one that needs "The Talk" since you don't know where babies come from." said Annabeth.

"I know where babies come from it just that you guys are forgetting that we're dealing with a god here. Anyway I don't have a father because I have two moms, Artemis is my mother and my mom's name is Alyssa and is a Shinto demigod." said Lucain.

"But, but." said Percy a little lost on how that was possible.

"That actually makes sense, Artemis is the Goddess of Childbirth so it's possible that she could become pregnant from...um...loving another woman." said Grover.

"Of course my mother's stalker would know that." said Lucian.

"I don't stalk her, I just really admire her! She's so…..into nature." said Grover with a dreamy look on his face.

"I'm into nature too and you don't see me chasing Wood Nymphs or trying to rub myself on any of Demeter's kids." said Lucain with a deadpan.

"I don't try to rub myself on any of Demeter's kids!" said Grover with a blush.

"And I don't know about that last part, I mean you do spend a lot of time around Demeter's cabin." said Annabeth.

"Again I like nature, of course I like to spend time around that cabin." said Lucain.

"What was it like being raised by a Goddess?" asked Percy.

"I….really don't know how to explain that. I always figured it was just like normal kids are raised with the only difference being that I was being taught how to use my abilities." said Lucian.

"And what are those abilities?" asked Annabeth.

"Stay tuned and you'll find out." said Lucian.

"Can you tell us anything about the Shinto Gods?" asked Annabeth.

"Not really, I feel like if I tell you too much about them I'd be betraying their trust in me. I will tell you though that women pretty much dominate the Shinto Pantheon." said Lucian.

Annabeth's female pride swelled up at this bit of information. From there no more questions were asked and the group of four just talked like friends do, a lot of it was Annabeth explaining to Percy that being a son of one of the big three wasn't exactly a good thing.

DAYS LATER

Lucian was currently in his wolf form walking around the camp, riding on his back were some of the younger campers and following him around was a group of Wood Nymphs. He had noticed that a lot of the other campers were being very cautious around him and Percy, he could understand why so it didn't really bother him but he knew it was getting to percy. The only people that treated them the same as before they were claimed were Grover, Thalia, Annabeth, Clarisse, Silena, Chiron, and Mr. D. Shaking those thoughts from his head Naruto continued to let the younger kids ride on his back for a little longer before sending them on their way then heading for the fully stocked forest, he had been feeling rather restless lately.

About an hour later Lucian came out of the forest in his human and he appeared to be reather relaxed. This didn't last long before Grover ran up to him and started dragging him off, he swore if one more person dragged him anywhere he was punching someone. Grover brought him to the big house where Chiron, Mr. D, and Percy were waiting for him. He quickly noticed that Percy looked a bit out of it and nervous.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" asked Lucian.

"I don't know, Grover just dragged me out of my cabin in order to bring me here for something." said Percy.

"I see." said Lucian.

"Percy, Lucian, I'm sure both of you have noticed the strangeness with the weather recently." said Chiron.

"Of course." said Lucian remembering how he talked about that with Chiara before even coming to camp.

"Yeah, for awhile now it felt like the sky and ocean have been fighting each other." said Percy. "It's because of the Gods isn't it, they're fighting over something, something that's been stolen?" asked Percy.

Everyone looked at Percy after that and it was Chiron that answered him. "Yes, Zeus's symbol of power, his Master Bolt, has been stolen." said Chiron.

"By who?" asked Percy.

"By one of you two." said Chrion shocking Percy and making Lucian narrow his eyes.

"WHAT!? I didn't steal anything, Zeus is crazy!" said Percy causing the sky to roar with thunder.

"We don't use the C-word when talking about the King of the Gods, paranoid is a much better one to use." said Chiron.

"Yeah but crazy fits better." said Lucian causing more thunder which he ignored. "I mean come on, Zeus believes that a boy who found out about all of this a few days ago stole his bolt. As for me, well if I stole it do you really think that I would stick around, that's just stupid." said Lucian.

"I have to agree with Lucian on this." said Percy.

"Boys you have to understand that Zeus has been betrayed before, when the other Gods captured him in a golden net and forced him to be a better king. Not to mention the Master Bolt is a powerful weapon and the forge in which it was made is deep underwater so it is not too unbelievable to believe that your father would have taken it to have illegal copies made. And as for you Lucian, I'm sure you know of the bad relationship between the Shinto Pantheon and the Greek Pantheon so I'm sure you can understand Zeus believing that you stole it in order to give it to them." said Chiron.

"Oh please, no one in the Shinto Pantheon would want it. Also if you guys have to capture your king in a net and force him to be better you should really think about who your king is." said Lucian knowing damn well that the Shintos have never thought about doing that to Amateratsu.

"Excuse me, why wouldn't they want it?" asked Mr. D. He ignored the rest of what Lucian said since he didn't want to admit that the boy had a point.

"Well the Master Bolt is a lightning based weapon and because of that the only three that I know of that could use it properly are Susanoo, Raijin, and Ryujin. They wouldn't want it though since they are way too prideful to stoop so low as to steal another's weapon." said Lucian.

"I'm surprised you are so casual with the use of their names." said Mr. D.

"They're my uncles, of course I can use their names casually." said Lucian.

"Uh I think we got off track here." said Percy.

"Quite right Percy, as it is if Zeus doesn't get his bolt back soon there will be war and you two will be the first to die." said Chiron.

"You mean Percy would be the first to die." said Lucian.

"Why would I die while you live!?" asked Percy.

"Because you're the son of Poseidon, Zeus is already going to start a civil war because his favorite toy was taken from him so he won't be afraid to kill you. But I'm pretty sure he knows better than to kill me and start a war with the Shintos while also fighting half of Olympus." said Lucian.

"You sound sure that the Shintos will push for war over one demigod." said Mr. D.

"That's because the Shintos are a close knit family, you mess with one of us you mess with us all." said Lucian with a smirk. With that Chiron went on with saying that the best way to fix things was for Percy to go on a quest to get the bolt back, Mr. D was convinced that he would just die on the quest and that things would be easier if he just turned Percy into a dolphin. Percy soon walked off in order to go speak with the oracle, once he was gone Lucian called someone out. "You can come out now Annabeth." said Lucian.

"How did you know I was here this time, I made sure to be extra quiet." said Annabeht as she removed her invisibility cap. Chiron looked disappointed that she was eavesdropping and Mr. D just looked unimpressed.

"The nose knows Annabeth, the nose knows." said Lucian.

"Well anyway when we were talking you told me about your heat cycles, I wondering how that was possible since only female animals have heat cycles." said Annabeth.

"What can I say, I'm magically born from two women, I figured I would be a bit different." said Lucian.

When Percy came back he looked a bit freaked out as he sat next to Chiron. "Well Percy, what did the oracle say?" asked Chiron.

"It said that I would retrieve what was stolen and see it returned." said Percy.

"That's great news but what else did she say?" asked Chiron?

"That I would go west in order to face the god who has turned." said Percy. Lucian noticed that Percy looked more and more nervous.

"Anything else Percy, this is very important?" asked Chiron.

"She said the Dread Wolf will lead the way and that without him I would be led astray." said Percy. At that bit of information everyone looked at Lucian who didn't react at all.

"Well don't think too hard about all of this Percy as they always have double meanings." said Chiron knowing that Percy was holding something back. "Anyway you're allowed two companions with you on your quest so who will you bring?" asked Chiron.

"Well I believe I kinda have to bring Lucian with me." said Percy.

"Remember what Chiron said Percy, these things can have double meanings which means it could mean that I literally lead you west or it could mean that I simply tell you the path I took to go west." said Lucian.

"You've been west?" asked Percy.

"I've been to a lot of places Percy, I like to travel around." said Lucian.

"Well thanks but I think I'd feel better if you came with just in case." said Percy.

"Very well." said Lucian since this would also allow him to keep his word to Sally.

"I of course want to bring Grover with me." said Percy.

"Are you sure about that Percy?" asked Grover.

"Of course, I know I won't fail if you have my back." said Percy getting a smile from Grover.

Lucian noticed the sad look on Annabeth's face, he knew from talking to her that she really wanted to go on a quest and bring honor to her mother's cabin. He decided to step in on her behalf. "You know Percy since I'm actually in the oracle's prophecy I don't think I actually count as a companion, so you should think about asking someone else to come along." said Lucian.

The others looked at Chiron to confirm this. "It's a very fragile technicality but Lucian does have a point. So Percy who else will you bring?" asked Chiron.

"I'll go with them, they'll need someone to pull them out of whatever trouble they find themselves in." said Annabeth.

"Sure, after all Athena always has a plan right?" asked Percy with a smirk.

"Right." said Annabeth.

"Well now that Percy has decided who is going with him we better go get packed for our trip." said Lucian as he stood up and walked off with Percy, Annabeth, and Grover doing the same.

It didn't take Lucian long to seal up everything he believed he needed for this quest, he decided to leave Chiara here in the camp since it seemed that even after all this time Percy still annoyed her. While on his way to the front gate he ran into Clarisse, Silena, and Thalia.

"Hey girls, what's up?" asked Lucian.

"Nothing much, we just heard about the quest and wanted to wish you luck. I also wanted to tell you to make sure you keep Annabeth safe." said Thalia.

"Don't worry, she's in good hands." said Lucian.

"And you better not do any perverted wolf stuff to her you dirty fleabag, we all know how horny dogs can get." said Thalia.

"I don't do "Perverted wolf stuff" as you put it, and with who your dad is I'm surprised you can say something like that to me with a straight face you wannabe goth." said Lucian.

"I'M NOT GOTH!" yelled Thaila. The two stared at each other for a few moments before they both laughed a bit and then fist bumped. "Take care of yourself and the others out there Lucian." said Thalia.

"Will do Thalia." said Lucian.

With that Thalia walked off and Clarisse came up to him. "Just make sure Prissy doesn't drag you down and hurry back, you're the best sparring partner I have here." said Clarisse.

Lucian smirked under his scarf at her words as he easily figured out what she meant. "Well thanks for the compliment, let's have another spar when I get back." said Lucian. Clarisse nodded at this before walking off.

Silena walked up to Lucian, pulled down his scarf a bit, and kissed his cheek. "Good luck Luican." said Silena before walking off.

"Hehehe, it's funny that out of those three Silena was the most direct." said Lucian with a chuckle.

Alright guys I'm going to end it there, that was chapter 4 and I hope you liked it. No action this chapter but we learn a bit more about the Shinto Pantheon.
