A/N: I'm excited about this chapter! I hope you all like it! Let me know what you think! I hope everyone is staying safe right now!

As always, I own nothing.

Zatanna walked down the stairs and to the cave beneath. She hadn't seen Dick in two days and she hadn't heard much from him in that time either. He had texted her a few times to ask her how she was doing but he didn't let her know where he was when she asked.

As she reached the bottom of the steps she headed towards the giant computer. Bruce was sitting in the big chair and Selina was sitting in a smaller one next to him. Alfred was pouring two cups of coffee behind them.

Zatanna stood behind them and glanced at the huge screen, it seemed to be tracking something. Something in... Geneva?

"Selina?" Zatanna started.

The woman swiveled in her chair to face her.

"Need something, Hun?"

Zatanna shook her head, "No, I was just wondering where Dick is. I haven't seen him in two days and he's barely texting me. I was kind of worried. It's been the same with Artemis and Meg."

Selina sighed and nodded then gestured at the screen, "He's not around."

Zatanna's eyes widened, "What is he doing there?"

"Well, seeing as he isn't authorized to be there, nothing that he's supposed to be doing." Bruce chimed in.

The magician raised an eyebrow, "He didn't tell you he was leaving?"

Selina crossed her arms, "No. And he took a few members of the team."

Zatanna's mouth dropped, "So...they're on a mission that he authorized on his own...and you didn't know they were going?"

"Correct." Bruce ground out.

Alfred set down the coffees in front of the two other adults, "Is there anything you need, Miss?"

Zatanna shot him a small smile, "No, thanks, Alfred."

She looked back to the screen and she saw a sudden spike on one of the grids attached to the map. Bruce stood up quickly and made the grid larger.

"There was just an immense power surge in their location." He growled.

"Do you know what caused it?" Selina asked him.

Zatanna's stomach lurched, what was going on over there. What had Dick been thinking by going somewhere with the team without permission and therefore without backup.

Bruce was typing furiously on the keyboard and Selina abruptly left, heading towards the changing area.

Bruce suddenly froze with his hands over the keys, "It's generating a black hole."

Zatanna felt like her insides shriveled up and she took a deep breath. She looked over at Bruce who was typing again and then to Alfred who looked on with concern. Selina jogged back out in her Catwoman suit and narrowed her eyes at what she saw.

"What the hell is going on?" She growled.

Then, just as quickly as it had come, the surge stopped. Zatanna sat down heavily on the chair Selina had vacated and put her head in her hands. She took a deep breath and then looked back up at the screen the two older heroes were analyzing.

"Is it really gone, or did the system fail?" Selina asked.

After another moment of typing Bruce sat down heavily as well.

"It's gone. Whatever happened, the team must have stopped it."

Zatanna let out a relieved sigh and heard Selina do the same.

"When that boy get's back he's going to be grounded until he's thirty." Catwoman hissed.

Bruce huffed in agreement.

Zatanna pulled out her phone and found Dick's contact.

Bruce and Selina are pretty mad. What the hell was going on over there? I hope you're okay.

She didn't really expect to get a reply, at least not for a while.

Selina pulled her cowl off and ran a hand through her hair frustratedly, "He better be back soon."

Zatanna stood up and made her way back over to the stairs. She doubted Dick would be home tonight or she would have stayed in the cave. She slowly made her way up to her room and collapsed onto her bed. She knew she wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight. She had been worried before but now it was twice as much. What would have been so important to him that he would have taken the team without permission. Why had the team agreed to that...unless he didn't tell them it was unauthorized. Why hadn't he brought her along? Did he not think she could handle it?

She grabbed her phone again as an idea struck her. She could text Wally.

Hey do you know where Dick is?

She only had to wait a second for a reply.

Umm yeah...do you?

She rolled her eyes. Yes. You know he went without permission right? Do you have any idea why?

She saw a typing bubble before he replied.

It's personal...look up Haly Circus current tours. You didn't hear anything from me! ;)

She couldn't help another eye roll.

Thanks.

She closed out of her messages and looked it up. Her mouth dropped when it loaded. Haly's Circus had shows scheduled in Geneva for the next couple of days. Although that didn't answer why there had been a black hole or how it was connected to the circus. She sighed and figured she would have to wait and find out from Dick.

About an hour later, she was still turning restlessly in her bed, she finally got a reply from Dick.

I'm okay. Sorry I went off the grid like this. I knew I would be in trouble, don't worry about it. Everything is fine now. I'll be home tomorrow night. See you then.

She let out a pent up breath and reread the text. She was glad he was okay but she really wished he would have taken her with him. She was starting to understand why he hated being out of the action.

Despite it being almost one in the morning she was feeling restless. She sighed and sat up before throwing her blankets off of her. She moved over to her desk and opened her laptop, she mine as well as figured out as much as she could if she wasn't going to be sleeping. She looked up 'Geneva news' and was surprised to find something immediately. Black holes had a way of capturing people's attention. Parasite had been apprehended for the cause of the black hole. He was also the main suspect for a few thefts across Europe. On a hunch she looked up the Haly Circus route for the last few weeks and discovered that every theft coincided with one of their stops. That must have been why Dick had gone. She read the rest of the article and found out that Parasite had been traveling with the circus and allegedly draining them of their abilities in order to pull off the heists.

If all of that was true that would have been a pretty good reason for Dick to take the team, although she had to wonder if Dick had known it was parasit the whole time, or if he had just gone to see if it was true himself.

With her curiosity momentarily satisfied, she went back to her bed and laid down. She was finally able to get some sleep.

Robin stepped out of the zata tube and onto the platform in the cave. He would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. And that was on top of the stress and emotional strain he was already feeling from his trip back to Haly's circus. He didn't regret what he had done in the slightest, sure he could have gone about it in a better way, but overall he was glad they had gone.

He looked up and discovered that Bruce and Selina were waiting for him. He wasn't surprised.

They didn't say anything as he walked over and leaned on one of the tables.

"I'm sorry. I had to." He stated simply while he looked at the floor.

"Richard John Grayson. You didn't have to do anything, at least not like that. You lied to your team, you left home, you went without authorization or backup. You risked your teammates lives for a personal matter." Bruce ground out.

"You didn't just leave home. You left the country and went to Europe. You were gone for days Dick. Hero or not, you're thirteen." Selina added.

"We stopped a black hole. That part wasn't personal. If we hadn't been there Geneva would have been gone." Robin reminded them softly.

"It happened to work out for you yes, but that doesn't excuse your actions. I can't believe you would go behind everyone's back like that." Selina spoke sternly.

He nodded, "I know, I'm not proud of that but what was I supposed to do? Did you want me to just let Haly get dragged down and have the circus taken for something he didn't do?"

Bruce sighed, "You could have come to us, son."

Robin shook his head, "I needed to do it my way."

There was an uncomfortable silence for a moment and he glanced up. The two adults seemed to be having some kind of silent conversation.

Bruce looked back at him and he quickly looked away.

"You're grounded. Unless there is an emergency Robin won't be leaving the cave for a long time. We'll kick up training on the weekends too and you're only going to the mountain for training. I don't know how long yet." His guardian said with finality.

Robin just nodded as he continued to look at the floor. He heard Selina sigh and move forward until she was directly in front of him. He felt her finger touch the bottom of his chin and she tilted his head up. She used her other hand to gently remove his mask. He looked up at her and tried to hide how upset he was, but he had been hiding it from his teammates during the whole trip and he couldn't do it anymore.

"I almost fell." He blurted without really thinking, "Parasite drained me before a show and I was falling just like them. Superboy had to throw a barrel and Meg had to use her powers."

Selina quickly wrapped him in her arms and Bruce walked closer.

"And Haley recognized me, not as Robin but he didn't buy the Dan Danger act." He took a deep breath as Selina rubbed his back.

"It was a bit too much and I couldn't show it because of the team."

He felt Bruce's hand slide through his hair once before it came to rest on his shoulder.

"You all came back safe, Kitten. You didn't fall, you're still here. Everything is going to be okay now." Selina consoled.

"Don't do something like this again Dick. I know that this wasn't something that you could just ignore but the way you went about it was completely unacceptable. Come to us next time." Bruce squeezed his shoulder comfortingly as he said it.

Dick nodded, "I know, I won't do it again."

Selina pulled his head back to look at him then ducked to kiss his forehead.

"Go upstairs. Zatanna has been worried too. And you need to rest."

Dick hugged her again before letting go and walking to the changing room. After a quick shower he changed and made his way up the stairs. Zatanna's door was open so he passed his room and leaned on her door frame.

"Hey." He smiled when she looked up.

"You're back!" She hopped off of her bed and wrapped her arms around him.

He circled her waist with his arms and pulled her closer.

"I am."

She pulled back suddenly, "What were you thinking? That was crazy! I hope you didn't get into too much trouble."

He gave her a small smile. "It's okay, Zee. I know it was a bit out of the blue and probably not one of my best decisions but I needed to do it. And I'm grounded, probably for a while but nothing too bad."

"It had to do with Haley's Circus right?" She asked him softly and he looked down.

"Yeah, Zee. It did."

He felt her pull him into another hug, "That must have been hard."

He let out a shaky laugh, "Well it wasn't on my list of the easiest things I've done."

"Are you going to be okay?" She asked.

He dropped his head onto her shoulder for a moment and nodded, "Yes, I'll be okay. Thank you for asking...and for staying up. I wanted to see you."

"Of course. I was worried." She chided and he laughed.

"My apologies, Miss."

"What a perfect gentleman." Zatana rolled her eyes at him and he grinned at her.

Zatanna's smile faded and she looked down for a second before back up at him. He could tell she wanted to ask him something but wasn't sure if she should.

"What is it?" He prompted.

She sighed, "Why didn't you take me with you?"

He nodded once, he had wondered if this would come up.

"The same reason I didn't take Wally. You know what happened to me there and I didn't want anyone questioning my motives. I didn't want to make it obvious that I had a connection to that place either."

"So nothing to do with how new I am to the team?" She looked at his face carefully.

He didn't mind, he didn't have anything to hide. He knew she was capable.

"No, that didn't have anything to do with it. If it was any other mission I would hope that you were out there with me." He told her honestly.

She studied his face for a few more seconds then smiled, "Good. And next time, I will be."

"I might not actually get to go on a mission for a while unless it's an emergency actually." He sighed.

She nodded, "Yeah I guess that makes sense with you being grounded and all. Can you still come train with the team?"

He smiled, "Yes, on weekends I can."

"Good."

Dick pulled her closer to him again and she giggled.

"Miss me that much did you?" She teased.

"No idea what you're talking about, Zee."

"Mhmm."

They stayed like that for a little longer before she gave him a little push, "Go get some sleep. It looks like you need it."

Dick smiled, he was feeling tired. "Yes ma'am. I'll see you in the morning."

"Goodnight, Dick."

"Night, Zee."
