I think about this story a lot, considering I'm fucking terrible at updating it. And I use the term 'story' loosely, considering this whole thing is basically an excuse for me to write Valcup smut.

Hiccup did his best not to glare, digging his fingers into the side of his thigh to try and distract at least a small part of his brain. It was just so unfair, watching his dad fawn all over Valka, foolish enough to think the baby she'd announced was his.

She'd waited until she couldn't hide it any longer to tell Stoick, giving she and Hiccup a handful of months where only they knew. Hiccup had appreciated it, but his fingers itched to stroke her belly, the bump there barely visible but firm enough to be felt. He'd never needed an incentive to touch her before, but her pregnancy had Hiccup ever more eager to caress every inch of her, to hear her soft voice talk about how their baby was growing inside her as she stroked his hair.

"Go on Stoick, or you'll be late for work dear."

"Aye, I better go. Take good care o' yourself love."

Hiccup barely garnered a passing glance, pretty certain his dear old dad was already thinking how he could raise the baby in Hiccup to not be such a 'mommas boy'. He grinned to himself, knowing Stoick had no idea, and his smile only grew wider when he realised they would be alone soon. Gentle fingers stroked along the line of his jaw, Valka letting Hiccup know she'd join him once she had showered, voice low enough to keep her husband from overhearing as he bustled around getting ready to leave for work. Hiccup waved goodbye with a smile, then set about his usual morning tasks to pass the time.

He tidied the kitchen and did the mammoth job of feeding the animals, scooping up the eggs from the hens while they were distracted scratching around for the food he spread out for them. Placing them in the egg box waiting, Hiccup washed his hands and shooed away a nosy cat, dispensing affection to them at random before he headed to her bedroom and waited for his mother there.

She smiled when she saw him, knowing the usual drill by now and sitting down so Hiccup could brush her hair for her. It was a lengthy but worthwhile task, and one he enjoyed a great deal. Slowly working the brush through, Hiccup wound intricate braids into her hair until it was all done, streaks of white and grey amongst the reddish-brown. He loved every single one of them.

"Come to my room, I wanna snuggle and my bed is better."

Seeming quite happy to agree, Valka took his outstretched hand and followed him. Hiccup stripped down and wrapped himself around her bare body, loving the feeling of soft and warm against his skin. His hand inevitably slid down to splay across her stomach, applying the smallest amount of pressure so he could feel her bump.

"I still can't believe it's really happening."

She stroked his hair, kissed his forehead.

"You'll be a wonderful father."

Hiccup hummed, nuzzling deeper into her hold.

"Well, I already know you're a wonderful mother."

Valka let out a soft laugh, still stroking his hair.

"I don't intend to be this sort of mother to our babe."

Hiccup hadn't even considered that; their relationship was pretty far removed from normal mother and son. But he couldn't really see wanting anybody but her, and despite how Valka got his blood running hotter, Hiccup couldn't actually see himself feeling that way for their child. He and Valka... they were more like accidents, people meant to be together that got mixed up with a mother and son. They wouldn't be the way they were together with any child their union made.

He wanted to ask - would they tell their child? Would it even come up if they stayed with Stoick and pretended he was the father? - but Hiccup bit his tongue for the moment, choosing instead to enjoy the sweet embrace, the soft mood as they settled between his sheets. His mother was so beautifully relaxed, lazy and pliant under his hands as Hiccup caressed her. He breathed in her scent, felt it ease some deep ache in his chest as he burrowed deeper beneath the covers, never happier than when her arms were wrapped around him.

Although he didn't complain about when more of her was wrapped around him, her hands guiding his until his fingers found her wet. It didn't take much to have her hot and ready for more, her long legs sliding up around his hips as she mewled into his mouth, both gasping with the perfect feel of their bodies joining. Valka stroked his back, head tipping up to kiss him again before she settled back against his pillows, eyes full of love and desire watching his every move. Hiccup couldn't stay quiet himself, the words spilling from his lips about how perfect she was and how he couldn't wait to worship every inch of her as she grew.

"I'm gonna take such good care of you you'll be sick of it."

She giggled, shaking her head fondly and rubbing his side as Hiccup slowed to simply look at her. Bathed in the light from the window, the glow from the sun on her skin couldn't match the glow that came from within her, the pure love and absolute contentment the two found only in each other radiating from his mother. Hiccup could scarcely believe he was so lucky, even now, even with his baby growing inside her, nurtured by the same body he had been. And still was, really; he lived for the woman lying under him.

"I love you son."

They were words he'd never tire of hearing, or ever refuse to respond to in kind.

"I love you too."

Valka seized under him as she came with a low, breathy sigh, nails digging in to his back and shoulder where she'd been holding him tight. Hiccup kissed her as he joined her there, sinking into her warm hold and feeling her arms wrap around him again as they settled, basking in the afterglow together.

"I don't want them calling him dad."

"I know love" she soothed a hand through his hair, kissed his jaw "but that means leaving here. Whatever you want to do, I'll follow you, but we do have to make a choice if that's what you want."

They'd discussed it before, but it had always been something to decide later - for the moment, it was easy enough to avoid the notice of Stoick, but leaving meant drawing attention, having explanations and reasons, the legal ties of Valka's divorcing him and all the things that would come along with moving their lives. They had all the animals that Stoick would never deign to care for himself, after all.

But it wasn't like they could just kick him out of the family home, tempting as it was.

Even with all that circling around his mind, Hiccup only had to look down at their hands joined over her stomach, to think of the baby they'd be having together to know what his answer was.

"It is."

Yes it's short, but as I've said before, this is a low-stress thing for me to do when I just want to write a lil Valcup.
