Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or Attack on Titan

Pairing: Levi/Kagome

Note: Kagome is a dog demon. This story will mainly interact with the anime not the manga.

Important Note!: There will be reference to Dragon Ball Z in relation to tails being their weakness. I didn't want an all-powerful Kagome, so I figured this would put an interesting spin on things.

A/N: I know times are weird, chaotic, and stressful right now, but I do believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you are all remaining safe and that I can give you all some sense of relief from the real world. Stay safe out there.

Kagome lowered her ears to her head. She looked away and sighed. "I've given up on humanity, Levi. Let those giants eat them all whole. This race no longer deserves to live." She looked at him then and there were tears in her eyes. "The only reason I am here now is because I have deemed you worthy of being considered pack. And pack to a dog demon means everything."

Levi for once didn't know what to say. He glanced over her head to look at Erwin. This was not how things were supposed to go at all.

They could both see the defeat in her form. They knew she was serious about the words she spoke. She has truly given up the thought of helping humanity.

'No.'

He could not let this happen. Erwin squared his shoulders and determination entered his eyes. He would not let this happen.

Erwin approached her broken form, "Kagome." He reached his hand out, but the moment it touched her, she reacted violently. He jerked his hand back as she quickly turned and snapped her jaws at him. Red had re-entered her eyes and a steady growl flowed from her lips directed at him.

Erwin raised his hands and slowly backed away. "Levi, I believe you need to handle this situation."

When Kagome had reacted the way she did to Erwin, Levi had jumped back as a precaution. He had never seen her react to anyone with such viciousness before. Would she turn on him next? When Erwin asked him to approach her, he could only raise his eyebrow in bewilderment.

"Trust me, Levi. I've seen you do it before. I do believe that she will not hurt you. That's why she came here in the first place."

Levi sighed and took a step forward, knowing he had to take a leap of faith like he always seemed to have to do when it came to Erwin. The closer he approached, her ears started to swivel in his direction, but her eyes still remained glued on Erwin.

Agonizingly slowly, he reached his hand out. His body tensed and prepared itself to jump back any second. Softly, his hand reached the outer shell of her ear and trailed down to the base. "Easy there, Mutt." Her growl slowly lessened till it resembled a purr. Her eyes slid shut and her head leaned into his hand.

"She will not hurt you, Levi. She called you pack. That's basically family. Hange and I did a little research about various wolf and dog breeds before we left. We have a little more understanding of how her mind works."

"Regardless, the one thing I want to know right now is why she is in this condition." He stopped his petting and removed his hand. Her eyelids cracked open and her purple iris was focused on him. 'Why are her eyes like this?'

"Kagome. Talk to me." She gave a huff of irritation before the red in her eyes slowly faded away and shining blue took their place.

"Sorry, my beast doesn't like that you don't like her."

"Beast?"

Kagome nodded her head tiredly. "Yeah. All demons have them. I'll have to tell you about them later. But right now, I'm just so tired."

Levi took in her appearance once again. The one word he would use to describe her in this moment would be…

'Defeated.'

Her hair was in disarray and matted with blood. Her shoulders were hunched in exhaustion. Ears, that were normally perked and moving wildly around her head, were drooped. Her collarbone was by far the worst. A huge chunk was missing and even now it was still flowing rivers of blood. "What the fuck did those MP bastards do to you?"

Kagome could hear the rage in his voice and it was for her defense. In that moment, she knew she had made the right decision in a pack mate. "They wanted to find the key to my demon blood so they could make their own demon army. When they didn't like my answers, they decided pain and experimentation was the best course to take."

"Rest. After we take care of this titan, we'll be returning to the wall. Erwin, get Four-Eyes up here to take a look at her." Erwin nodded his agreement and went to collect the titan enthusiast.

Kagome lazily glanced up at him. "But, don't you need my help? That's why you blew the whistle, right? You were in trouble."

"No. I wasn't. We came up with a plan to get you out of the MP's hands. Which by looking at you, was a good call on Erwin's part." He looked back over at the soldiers that were still shooting the female titan with metal cords to hold her in place. Seeing no change in the situation, he returned his attention back to the exhausted female. "As soon as the MP's were granted custody of you, Erwin and I decided to come up with a way to get you into the Survey Corps." He grabbed a cloth from his pocket and gently applied pressure to her collarbone. She gave a hiss of pain but did not pull away. This gave Levi a clear look in her mouth and the four teeth she was missing. His fists clenched in anger.

"We had decided to falsify documents to state how imperative you were to this scouting mission. Judge Zackly would have no other choice but to remove you from the Military Police jurisdiction and give you to us. The only thing we had trouble figuring out was how to get you out of the actual place they were keeping you." Levi gave her a light smirk. "But you solved that problem for us by providing that whistle."

Kagome nodded her head. "I'm glad that was someone I could trust to deliver it to you."

Levi snorted, "you were the whole reason he was there." She glanced up in surprise. "We had sent him to report to us on your condition. We wanted to be sure the MP's were not being overly cruel and going against the judge's specifications of your holding. But, obviously, they went too far."

"But, how did you know I'd be able to escape?"

He gave her a sideways glance. "Honestly?" He sighed and returned his vision to the female titan below. "We didn't. We had originally planned this expedition to ensure our holding of a titan shifter. We then added you into the mix. It was justified that if you were unable to escape and join us, then we could still get at least one consolation out of it."

She lowered her gaze and nodded. "Though I wish it were for different reasons, I can understand that you needed to weigh the risks against the rewards." Her ears drooped against her head in disappointment.

Levi would never admit why he said what he did next. But, there was just something about the disappointed way she looked in that moment. "Regardless of our inability to free you ourselves. I'll be damned if I let you go back to that hell hole." Kagome looked back into his eyes and she was surprised by the fire burning in them. "I promise you, they'll pay for what they did."

Kagome didn't know what to say, so she simply nodded. Suddenly she could see blackness starting to edge in on her vision. She has been pushing back rest long enough. "Levi. I think I'm going to faint. But, if I ever wake up and my eyes are red, please know that I will never hurt you."

Before Levi could question her about it, she slumped forward. If it weren't for his quick reflexes, she would have tumbled off the branch. Now where the fuck was Hange?

As if that summoned her, she suddenly landed on the branch. Followed closely by Erwin and one of her assistants. She seemed to freeze when she saw the amount of blood that had slowly accumulated around them.

"What happened?!"

Before he could respond, Hange had pushed him out of the way and was looking over Kagome's condition closer. She ended up laying her down of the branch so she could gauge the full extent of her injuries.

"What happened to my precious puppy!?"

Before she could get going in another one of her over emotional tangents, Erwin stepped in.

"Hange! Your prerogative is to record the extent of Kagome's wounds and to treat what you can. I need you to be as thorough as possible. This report is what we will use to officially acquire Kagome for the Scouts."

Hearing how important this was becoming, Hange reigned in her over enthusiastic self to focus on the task at hand. Turning a serious eye to Erwin, she replied, "you can count on me!"

With the knowledge that Kagome was now being taken care of properly, Erwin and Levi turned their attention back to the female titan. It was high time they wrapped this up.
