Quinn sat at the dressing table in the hotel room as Gabby finished curling her hair. She had never thought she would have a day like this. A good man who really loved her. An amazing blended family. She had always told herself she would never have any of this and then he came along. But not just Antonio everyone else that came along with him. For so long it had just been her and Beth had she had always said that was all she needed. But this was so good for both of them.

Beth was twirling in her bridesmaid dress showing it off to Eva.

"You look beautiful baby" She told her.

Beth looked up with a beaming smile.

"I love this dress" Beth said admiring her reflection.

"I'm glad you're both here" She told Gabby and Eva "I'm sure I'd be a wreck"

Antonio's Mom had taken the baby and Gabby was taking the kids after the wedding for a weekend so they could have a honeymoon. Everyone had been so amazing.

She squeezed Eva's hand. Quinn was so glad that she had been so accepting of her and Beth. They had only continued to grow closer.

"You look amazing" Gabby told her as she put on her veil.

She had gone for a Princess Kate style dress, but it was backless. Her hair was curled, and she'd gone for more natural makeup.

"I can't thank you enough" She said hugging her soon to be sister in law.

"We should be thanking you" Gabby laughed "Keeping my brothers ugly angry head vein under control"

"Most of the time" Eva corrected.

Quinn giggled. She knew exactly what they were talking about. That vein in his forehead had a life of its own when he was angry. She usually saw it when one of the kids were talking back or, more often than not when Adam was around. He was like that annoying kid brother but who wasn't related.

There was a knock at the hotel room door. Eva went to answer it.

"Quinn" she called back.

Quinn walked over to the door and froze.

"Mom" She said "Dad, what are you doing here?"

"Quinnie you look like a princess" Judy said walking into the room and hugging her daughter.

Quinn returned the hug, but she was truly shellshocked. Mostly by the fact that her Dad was there who she hadn't spoken to since he had kicked her out at 16 but also that her Mother was there with him.

"Grandma" Beth said excitedly throwing her arms around her.

"And don't you look like an angel" Judy said kissing Beth's cheek "Wait until you see all of the presents, I brought for you"

"What are you doing here?" Quinn asked her Dad who was stood awkwardly by the door.

"Antonio called us" Judy said "And we just couldn't miss it"

Quinn pursed her lips. It was so typical of her Mother to act like this was completely normal. She wouldn't dream of presenting anything other than the perfect family to everyone else even though she herself was divorced and none of them spoke anymore. It was like being a child all over again being expected to play happy families.

"Don't do that" She said "Don't pretend"

"Why don't we wait in the car" Gabby suggested taking Eva and Beth's hands.

Quinn smiled gratefully at her as they left the room. She turned her attention back to her parents.

"Why are you here?" She asked again.

"We're back together" Judy admitted.

"Your fiancé called me" Richard said speaking for the first time "I know I can't make up for everything that I did but I want to try"

"It's been over ten years" She said sitting back down and taking a breath willing herself not to cry.

"I can't take that back I know that" He said "But I really am proud of you, and we want to be apart of your day if you'll let us"

Quinn looked at her Mom who looked like she was tearing up.

"That Antonio is a good man" She said "And I really want to meet my grandson"

"He laid into me hard, but it was stuff I already knew" Richard said "I just didn't know how to reach out"

Quinn had spent years being angry. She had worked really hard to move past all of that. But hearing her parents say they were proud of her and that they wanted to be a part of her life felt better than she thought it would.

"I'm glad you're here" She told them.

She knew there was still a lot to talk about but at least it was a start.

"Could I walk you down the aisle?" Richard asked "I understand if you'd rather I didn't"

"I'd like that" She told him.

She'd always had a close relationship with her Dad and what had happened between them had torn her apart for a really long time.

Quinn felt the nerves set in as she started to walk down the aisle. She looked up. All of their friends and family were sat either side of the aisle. Antonio was stood with Diego as his best man. The way he was looking at her chased away any nerves or doubts that could have entered her mind.

Exchanging their vows felt like a blur, the rest of the room didn't exist anymore more until the cheers came as they were pronounced man and wife.

"Thank you so much" She told him looking over at her parents in the front row "You have no idea how much that means to me"

"I'd do anything for you and this family" He replied, and she knew it was true.

"I know you would" She told him leaning over to kiss him.

"After you Mrs. Dawson" He said holding the door open for her as they walked back down the aisle.

Mrs. Dawson felt strange and amazing at the same time. It wasn't just their relationship progressing it was the start of a whole new beginning.

…..

I think that might be the end of this story, but I am thinking of a sequel in line with Antonio's last season in Chicago PD. I'm also trying to think of some more crossover couples to go with the Chicago franchise, I could use some inspiration let me know what pairings you like.
