I am basing this off my gameplay of "Fire Emblem Heroes" Tiki x OC (my character in Fire Emblem Heroes), Ash x TBD, Brock x TBD (I literally don't know who to pair them with yet, and don't want to go the OVERUSED path of Misty or Serena...). Ash and Misty sibling-like relationship ( for Fire Emblem fans, Rank "A" support ;) ), with "actual siblings".

Pokemon Emblem

Chapter 1: Fates Entwined

Fire Emblem, our Spirits shall shine

A portal opened up as two figures leaped through it hand in hand. The first was a man in a blue shirt, white pants held up by a red belt with a gold crescent moon buckle over a brown leather bracer; with golden bronze plates on either side of his thigh, and brown boots with gold plates on the toes. He had a sheathed sword strapped to his left side. On his right, was a white and golden bronze gun-like object. He had a dark blue shirt with a golden trim, and brown gloves on his hands, his left ring finger having a golden ring with a small diamond on it. His outfit was completed by a white cloak over his body with the hood up covering his eyes and upper head. There was golden trim across his cloak, with the shield-like symbol on the back that represented the Kingdom of Askr.

The woman next to him looked human, mostly. She had thigh high red high heeled boots with pink stockings underneath poking slightly above them. She had a red arm-less dress with slits going up the sides and light red designs on it with a pink ribbon around her waist, and a pink cape with a white inside. She had golden arm bracers above red gloves with pink cuffs around the wrist, with a golden ring on her left ring finger with a diamond in it. A red choker was around her neck. She had pointed elf-like ears, and green eyes with a slight red shine on it. Her hair was green wrapped in a ponytail with red ribbon, and on her forehead in her hair was a golden tiara with a red gem in the middle of it. Tied to the ribbon on her waist was a blue teardrop shaped gem with a dragon-like symbol in it.

The portal closed and the man threw off his hood, revealing short yet messy brown hair, brown stubble showing where he shaved, and brown eyes staring at where the portal was in disdain as he picked up the gun like object and pointed it at where the portal was, pulling a trigger without anything happening.

"Anything?" The woman asked with a slight British accent, looking around alertly.

"Nothing." The man replied in a tenor voice, "Breidablik acting up suddenly like that, now it isn't responding." He shook the gun like object before sighing and putting it back, "It was designed by the Kingdom of Askr to summon heroes from multiple worlds with the old relic...but why did the portal open, and where are we?"

The woman blinked. "Wait Andrew, this isn't your world?" The man glanced at the path, sucking in a breath as he saw Pidgey and Rattata scurrying along.
"No." He finally responded, pointing at a Pidgey, "Where I'm from, that 'bird' is only in games. This...this is amazing Tiki!"

"Like I was." The newly revealed Tiki said, frowning slightly before smiling as the man grasped both hands in his.

"It doesn't matter Tiki." Andrew said, "I was told by Commander Anna that their home was also my home. My world is also your home, we are tied by a bond stronger than steel." He said as his face turned red with a blush as she blushed lightly.

"I know. I'm surprised you chose me, I am an old Manakete." Tiki said as a Pidgey landed on her shoulder and chirped happily. A bush rustling got their attention as a group of brown and gray fox-like creatures stumbled out, injured and one took a defensive stance as it saw the humans in front of them. Andrew knelt and held his hand outstretched and made gentle noises as Tiki copied his actions with a curious look in her eyes.

The lead Eevee stopped its stance with a curious "buiee?" and hesitantly stepped forward and sniffed Andrew's fingers.

"What are you doing here, and why are you injured?" Andrew asked, slowly moving his hand to scratch behind the Eevee's ears as others looked jealous at the attention and affection their "protector" was getting. Andrew took off his cloak and placed it on the ground, looking over the group.

"I can't carry you all, and as you can see, I'm not prepared with any helpful equipment. You need treatment though." He said gently starting to place the Eevees on the cloak. Once that was done, he used the cloak as a makeshift nest to help carry them.

"Love, you see anything resembling a town?" Andrew asked, glancing at Tiki. She hummed as she glanced at her surroundings before she saw a sign. However, she couldn't read the language. It wasn't the Ancient Language or the Written Languages used by the kingdoms. Fortunately, Andrew noticed the sign, and smoke.

"Sorry, I can't read it." Tiki said as the Pidgey on her shoulder chirped with what sounded suspiciously like laughter.

"It's alright. I had to learn the written language myself. Still keep a reference written." Andrew said, patting a pouch on his belt on his back, making Tiki smile, "Either way, it's a new world, and new opportunities to learn!"

"No matter how old I get, new worlds are always exciting!" Tiki said in joy as she clasped her hands together, "But I worry about our friends. You were the Tactician and Summoner of Askr."

A frown spread across Andrew's face at that statement. "A 'hero' summoned by the Breidablik, and now it seems our path back is sealed. Curious, can you try love?"

Tiki gave a slight nod and picked up the gun like weapon and fired. A portal barely bigger than a dinner plate opened up, revealing a world frozen in time. "What?!" She said, and Andrew had to plant himself from reeling in shock to prevent anymore injury to the Eevees in his arms.

"It's frozen in time." Andrew said, as the portal closed and Tiki placed Breidablik on his belt, "On one hand, since it's frozen in time we can't access it. The good news about that is that the war mongering Emblian Empire can't strike our friends while frozen in time." That statement got Tiki to sigh in the two started walking in the direction of the smoke, Tiki glanced at Andrew walking to her left. "Thank you, Doctor Who" He whispered to himself, making Tiki giggle as he had told her stories of that 'television show' of a human-like alien traveling time and space. "It's like a painting, or a cup of soup...except for water you add a person or time...so that makes it nothing like cup of soup...Forget I said Cup of Soup!" Now she was laughing as he quoted one of the "Doctors".

"You were asking me something when that relic acted up. What was it?" She asked.

Andrew blushed and glanced away slightly "Kid names." He said quietly, yet it was still picked up by her and she blushed slightly. "Do you...think it's okay to name a boy after your friend and the legendary hero king Marth?" Tiki's expression grew excited and joyous at that statement.

"Oh yes! That would be wonderful, having a boy named after my precious friend Mar-Mar!" She said as she gave him a huge smile, "Although we don't have a child yet..." She frowned.

"Well, the environment hasn't exactly been peaceful enough to raise a family" Andrew chuckled, making her giggle.

Across the Generations now, and for all time

Professor Samuel Oak had scene many things, experience love, loss, joy and sorrow...yet this was different. A newly orphaned 3 year old Ash Ketchum sat on the rug staring morosely at it as a Caterpie tried to cheer him up by nuzzling against him. It had been a horrific accident that had taken the life of the boy's parents, and yet...this couple standing in front of him. The woman's ears were VERY different from any other human's he had scene, and she gave off an aura of light and power. The Pidgey on her shoulder looked utterly content, and the man had brought in a bunch of Eevees in a cloak without a single Poke Ball on either of them. The Eevees were relatively fine; nothing that some Hyper Potions and rest couldn't fix, they had been around the area of the accident that orphaned Ash but had avoided the worst of it, but they were bonding with the man and woman.

Andrew glanced back at the Eevees and after seeing them content in an actual Pokemon bed, picked up his cloak and put it back on, hood and all. When he caught Professor Oak staring, he pretended to cower. "Don't look at me, I'm ugly!" He joked around before snorting as he tried to not laugh at his own joke as Tiki rolled her eyes, used to his behavior. Tiki gently shoved him as he chuckled. Professor Oak cleared his throat as the two people looked at him with serious expressions, all trace of humor gone in an instant. Tiki's eyes hardened as she saw his expression, very solemn.

"Earlier today, a boy who lives in this town became an orphan." Oak said, and Andrew's gaze lowered to the ground as Tiki clenched her hands above her heart. "I am very busy and not many in town are ready to care for him at the time. Now, this is just guessing, but you are not used to Pokemon are you?" The man shook his head. While he was familiar with the GAMES, he knew a living creature was WAY different than a virtual simulation. Tiki shook her head, having not seen Pokemon before.

"Just as I thought. Now...I can teach you about Pokemon if you promise to care for the young boy. I see a lot of potential within him, and I'd hate to see it doused by this tragedy." Professor Oak said as he knew by their interactions with the Pidgey and Eevees that they were nice people. Pokemon could be a better judge of people than other humans. Now, that judgement wasn't always perfect, but the fact the man used his own cloak to safely carry them spoke loads about their character to him; especially since some of them were shiny.

"Who?" Tiki said, as the Pidgey on her shoulder chirped. Professor Oak smiled sadly.

"His name is Ash Ketchum. His parents just died in an accident coming back from shopping." He said, leading the couple into the room with the Eevees bounding in after them. One of the gray Eevees stopped and sadly called out upon seeing the boy, making him look up and seeing a strange couple and a group of Eevees and a Pidgey with them. Oddly enough, there wasn't a single Poke Ball on them like other trainers. The shiny Eevee moved forward and started licking him, making him sniffle as Tiki and Andrew knelt down and hugged him.

Fire Emblem, Heroes bring us hope's light

Journey from Distant Worlds to still, the coming night

"We are simple travelers, and I know we may never replace your parents...but, if you will have us, we will take care of you." Andrew said. Tiki nodded with her husband's statement. Ash sniffled and buried his head into Tiki's shoulder as he cried and the shiny Eevee worked on licking away his tears...

Four years later...

Two steel swords clashed together as Andrew pushed his sword against the one Ash was holding and struggling at pushing back against his. A bead of sweat dripped down their faces as a quick motion caused Ash's sword to point to his right and a quick movement had Andrew's sword pointing at his throat. "Oh man." Ash said, dropping the sword, and Andrew stepped back and sheathed his blade. He nodded down and patted Ash's head as a shiny Vaporeon ran to Ash's feet and started fussing over him.

"You're doing better." Andrew said, "It took a lot of sparring in Askr with different heroes to learn swordplay and the art of the lance, and the art of the axe." Ash smiled slightly at the complement. Upon gaining custody of Ash, he started teaching him sword and lance skills for the world around him, starting with sticks to work on the basic forms while exercising to work on developing muscle strength for heavier weapons. "Remember that you're still young, a lot of people may beat you with brute force if you rush in. You want to work on minimizing your energy and conserve it for more devastating attacks. Deflect if you can, avoid strikes otherwise." A loud Pokemon cry made them look up to see a Pidgeotto flying in circles above them.

"Looks like mom wants us back home...dad." Ash said, sheathing his sword and Andrew ruffled his hair playfully before lifting Ash onto his shoulders. The Pidgeotto flew forward, doing lazy circles in the air. It had caught both Andrew and Tiki off guard when Ash started calling them mom and dad, but they enjoyed it greatly. With custody of Ash, Professor Oak not only taught them about Pokemon, but ensured Ash's life had some stability in it by having them live in the Ketchum residence. For all the townsfolk knew, they were out of town relatives who had been coming to visit when tragedy struck the family. They brought Ash to every lesson with Professor Oak, and that lead to interesting visits in towns in other regions.

With Sacred Relic at your side, See your champions Fall from high

In this land where Timeless Heroes live, and their legends never die

Andrew set Ash down and opened the door, only for a Quick Attack to knock him flat on his back and a Glaceon was nuzzling under his chin.

"Okay Aurora, can I get up?" He said, scratching behind her ears.

"Glace. Eon." She said, jumping off him as he stood up and the Pidgeotto landed behind the two humans. Tiki stood up while two toddlers were drawing pictures on the floor. There was a boy with brown hair and green eyes with a blue toddler clothes with a white bow-tie design on the shirt. His ears were pointed like his mother's and a blue stone sat next to him as he drew a knight facing an evil beast of some kind.

The girl also had her mother's ears, and her hair color, but she had her father's eye color. She wore a pink toddler's dress and also had a blue stone sitting next to her.

"The Dragonstones are almost perfect love! Soon they'll be in complete control of their Manakete powers like the hero Corrin!" Tiki exclaimed as she hugged her husband and knelt down to hug her adopted son. The toddlers looked up, being around three and two for the boy and girl respectively, and ran as quickly as they could shouting "DADDY! BIG BWOTHER!" At the top of their lungs and lunged into their arms.

"Marth! Trina! How have my little heroes been?" Andrew asked as Ash was holding Marth and soon looked over by Tiki with a gentle smile on her face.

"We drawing pictures daddy!" Trina said, pulling him over to see her work, before Marth wanted his dad to see HIS pictures and squirmed free from his brother's grip! Ash smiled slightly, brushing off his blue pants and blue shirt. He wore a white coat with a hood similar to Andrew's with matching designs, and a red cape was tied around his neck and held in place to the coat with a metal decal of the Kingdom of Askr. A belt for Poke Balls was around his waist and a golden belt buckle with the Kingdom of Askr logo on it held it in place. A dark red headband was tied over his eyes and making his hair spike up slightly at the front. He had gotten an Official Pokemon League Hat...a week after his birth parents died. This had lead to crying fits and even though he had come to terms to it, taking something that took a million postcards when his parents were alive was gut wrenching. He wore one of the blue bands used by Delia Ketchum to tie her hair into a ponytail on his left wrist like a bracelet as a memorial of sorts.

The restaurant in Pallet Town had been inherited by Ash after his parents died, but he was not running it. Instead, a portion of the incomes went into his account after expenses and paying staff there. His mom's recipes were saved in a large cookbook at home, but that recipe book was copied and shared with the new cooks at the restaurant. It was a fitting solution to keep his birth mother's business running and ensuring that there was a decent, steady income.

His dad's Eeveeelutions, Eve the Eevee, Superia the Vaporeon, Jolta the Jolteon, Flare the Flareon, Dusk the Umbreon, Jewel the Espeon, Aurora the Glaceon, Daisy the Leafeon, Agawaateshin the shiny Umbreon, and Miyabi the Sylveon were gathering around him. A ribbon-like feeler wrapped around Andrew's left arm and he smiled down and laid down on the ground to start playing with them. Tiki's Pidgeotto, Sylveon, shiny Flareon, Shiny Espeon, and Leafeon were yawning as they awoke from a nap. Of course, having traveled and learned from Professor Oak meant that they had more Pokemon, but they never really entertained the thoughts of becoming Pokemon Masters.

In fact, Andrew told him that he "didn't want to stand in the way of his dream". He knew that his dad had experienced combat, as his mom did, and they often told tales of these figures never found in history books; the Hero King Marth, Genius Tactician Roy, Mercenary turned Lord Ike, Corrin who was forced to choose between helping his birth kingdom and the kingdom that raised him when the two went to war, Princess Lucina who was the daughter of Prince Corrin, the Holy Knight Sigurd who was the Heir to Chalphy, and simple villager turned hero Donnel. Ash's shiny Vaporeon leaned up and rubbed her head against his hand as he laughed.

The house didn't feel empty.

A knock at the door caused Tiki to stand up and open it to see Professor Oak standing there.

"Oh! Is it time for the summer camp Ash is enrolled in?" Tiki asked and Professor Oak nodded and Ash ran out to hug the aging professor with Vaporeon hot on his heels. As he was waved off by his adoptive parents and younger siblings, a firm resolve echoed in his heart. It was...bittersweet, leaving one's family, even to fulfill your dream.

"Before you leave, Ash..." Andrew said, holding a wrapped bundle, "You might want this." Ash quickly unwrapped the bundle, revealing a blade with a long cross-guard handle; with a flame orb in a circle in the blade where the blade rounded in front of the handle with a golden decoration at the side of the blades facing the handle and down the middle of the blade. The tip of the blade widened into on ovular design. Though the blade was silver in color, the hand-guard was smoke gray with a golden and orange wrapping around the handle. There was a custom sheathe underneath it that Ash strapped to the left side of his belt as he admired the blade.

"It almost looks like a combination of different swords." Ash said, touching the flame orb.

"And you'd be right." Tiki said as she held her "first son" close.

"The flame orb allows the blade to ignite in flames on command, while the metal alloys making up the sword have high fire resistance to let it keep it's shape in the fire. The design was based on combining the sword Ragnell used by Mercenary turned Lord Ike, and the Falchion used by both Prince Chrom and his daughter Princess Lucina." Andrew said as he put a hand on Ash's shoulder as the boy sheathed the blade that was large for his young seven year old body. With practice and growth, he would wield it effortlessly in time. "So what are you going to call it?"

Ash glanced at the sword, rubbing the spot in the sheathe he could feel the fire orb through. A blade that caught fire...could only be...

"BrennaBrandr." Ash said, gazing up at his adopted parents with a determined expression. Vaporeon leaped onto his shoulders and let out a loud happy cry, making everyone laugh at how easily the tense atmosphere was broken. As Ash followed Professor Oak to the camp with Vaporeon on his shoulders, he turned back and waved at his family watching him leave. Andrew was holding Tiki from behind, with her smiling as she waved with her Pidgeotto circling around her, while Marth and Trina were shouting their goodbyes and waving as excitedly as only toddlers could.

He was going to miss this; both in camp and in a few years as he started his journey as a Pokemon Trainer...but he was prepared thanks to his parents...

He would not let them down!

Ash's sword name and Trina's name comes from Old Norse.

Trina means "Chaste, Pure" and BrennaBrandr are the words for "Burning" and "Blade" put together.

Agawaateshin is a word in the Ojibwe language, it means "He is in shade"

Ash's BrennaBrandr, as mentioned, took the handle of Ragnell with the tip of Ragnell, and used the Ylisse Falchion's design from Fire Emblem: Awakening for the rest of it.
