We sat on the same bench staring into space for ten long minutes. I have no idea what we are doing. Supposedly, I am supposed to bring up a topic and talk about it so it would be less awkward, but I don't want to reveal myself to Kaito so, I don't know what is safe to talk about. Kaito seems like he wants to break the ice as well but he can't seem to find a common topic in between us to talk about.
"Hey, Yuna, you play games?"
"No."
"You read?"
"No."
Okay, I can already foresee another five long minutes of silence. Should I break it? Should I not? I think I should break it. I can't stand this anymore.
"Neh, Kaito, can you show me how to do card flips? I've tried doing some flips like the dynamo flip but it just seems too hard for someone who has a short pinky finger."
Kaito's face lights up and he pulls out a deck of cards from his pockets as he starts to instruct me. However, instead of listening to his lesson which I believe is really interesting, I can't help but just stare at his face. His eyes sparkle with the passion for magic tricks and his smile proves that he is enjoying this himself. Honestly, I love all parts of him no matter how he looks because Kaito would always be Kaito.
"So, do you get it?"
"Uh..." I wasn't even listening. "Yeah?"
He hands over the deck of cards and I try as he watches me fail.
"When you flip the cards over you should place your index finger here to stop it from falling out of your grasp."
He is such a patient teacher, unlike my math teacher who barely gives a sh*t about the dumb kids. Just another reason to love him more.
By the time I can do the first part of the card flip, Another train arrives and Aoko comes out to greet up.
Okay, I regret not leaving her and go on a two-person date to the Tokyo Tower.
After we met up, we start heading out of the train station and to the tower. It was like a ten-minute walk before we arrived at the bottom of the tower and getting ready for entrance. The elevator brought us up to the Observation Deck. From below the glass floors, I can see the legs of the red tower beneath me. When I look forward, I can see most of the city with tall and short buildings.
"Ne, Yuna-chan when you are done, why don't we go get lunch?"
It took us about 40 minutes to get here. I still have about four hours left. Eating lunch might only take an hour so I guess it's fine. Fine as long as the alcohol keeps its promise.
"Where are we heading?" I asked.
"Let's go get sushi!"
I remember the last time I was treated to sushi was when I forced someone to pay. It was awkward.
"Aoko, shouldn't we let Yuna choose instead?"
Kaito, you know what. Behind that poker face, I see everything. You don't want to have any chances to see a live fish, do you? Fine, let me help you out.
"Let's go to get some ramen. I want something warm."
"Ramen it is!" Kaito exclaims as he leads the way out of the tower.
With another ten minute walk, we arrive at a ramen shop.
They allow us to customize our own ramen and I asked for eel. Grilled Eel on anything is delicious.
Aoko got some fried whole fish to scare Kaito. Kaito got so scared that he made me sit in the middle instead.
Kaito got some pork chop ramen. I would've gotten that too if eels were less appealing but I would have to agree with Genta on this. Eels are delicious. I actually don't mind having them for lunch every day.
In the end, Kaito treated us to the food and Aoko asks to get dessert.
Dessert... DESSERT! ANYHTING FOR DESSERT!
"Ne... Kaito... Why don't you be so kind and treat us to dessert as well?"
Aoko and I both look at Kaito with our best-attempted puppy eyes.
Kaito looks at us in disbelief and says, "We just ate ramen and if this keeps going, I'm gonna be broke."
"It's okay! Don't you have your job?"
Kaito's piercing glares stab me. Ouch. I reply to him with a really pure smile. At least, what I think is a pure smile.
Aoko's ringing phone catches our attention. She picks it up and answers.
"Hello? Dad! What! You left your documents at home! How forgetful can you get? All you think is Kid Kid and more Kid. Okay. I'll go and deliver it." She ends the phone call and continues to say, "Kaito, Yuna, I'm sorry. We will have to go and get desserts another time." Aoko turns and hurries off.
"Yuna..."
"Yeah?"
"What you mean by, job?"
There's a rising suspicion in his voice. There's a glare in his eyes.
"Umm..."
Come one brain... I need an answer! Answer! Answer! ANSWER!
Okay. I have none. And you know what readers? When you have no answer, like in a test or something, R-U-N! RUN!
I turn in the opposite direction and sprint away from Kaito. I didn't know that I would be flying away from Kaito instead of sticking to him.
Sadly, he is more athletic than I am. Before long, he catches up and grabs my wrist.
I try to wriggle out but he wraps his arms around me, preventing me from escaping.
"Who are you." He whispers in my ear.
Kaito stop. Stop whatever you are doing! My head is heating up and so is my face! How can you expect me to think! ahcoiwqvnoqvneri...
"Let. Me. Go!"
He holds on tighter. I look around for help but we are in one of those streets where there are more houses than stores. At this time in the day, it is deserted. I can't call a passerby cat for help, can I?
Ba-bump. Ba-bump.
It's that weird feeling again.
"I told you that I mean no harm, didn't I?"
"I want to know who you are. Now answer me."
I use my free hand and make my way into Kaito's inner pockets.
"H-hey! What are you doing?"
I feel something like a small ball and drop it. The ball hits the ground and creates a white puff of smoke surrounding the area.
I push out of Kaito's grasp and run back into the crowded streets that we came from. He wouldn't look over there.
After running for fifteen minutes, I rush into a nearby public bathroom, I collapse by a wall to catch up my breath. That was close. Kaito should be the last one to know that I'm the cat that has seen him naked.
However, after a moment of what seems like catching up breath feels like breathing in fire. My body starts to burn. I try to breathe in some fresh air but every breath is like pouring the hot liquid down my throat. When the pain finally decided to go away, I am under the pile of clothes again. What a waste of Kaito's efforts. I need to go back to Agasa's place and tell him to take care of the clothes for me. Who knows when I would need them again right?
"Ao-kun, where are you heading to again?" Asks Professor while picking up my clothes and stuffing them in the back of his car.
"It's okay, dad. I'll be with someone trustworthy. Don't worry, I still have the bell you gave me. I'll be fine."
Leaving the Professor, I run to Kaito's house as fast as I can. I am not going to separate from you again.
When I arrive at the front door, Kaito is there, opening the door.
"MEOOOW! (KAITO!)"
