Well, here's another show I've been getting into lately... OK KO: Let's Be Heroes on Cartoon Network! I didn't think I would enjoy this show at first, but after watching a few episodes, it started to grow on me! And as a residential shipper, I'm already shipping KO and Dendy together, like everybody else is, I'm probably sure! So, I thought I would do a one-shot starring these two! Anyway, enjoy!

It was a little early on a Saturday morning as the yellow jumpsuit wearing kappa like creature was walking, carrying her blue backpack around as she always did. Normally, this young kappa's mind would be focused on many things, including how to gather the right information on people when need be, or giving cryptic descriptions on how others would react. Some may call her a bit creepy for snooping around others, but for people like her friend, KO, they didn't mind her being around, even if they did question why she would appear in the most unlikely places.

As the kappa creature, known as Dendy, arrived at the Plaza, she took a deep breath as she noted that the plaza seemed a bit more busier than usual. Dendy could only raise an eyebrow as she noted a sign that some of the people were hanging up. Dendy's eyes shined a bit before nodding in understanding. Every year, Lakewood Plaza would hold a little mini festival in the summer time where everyone could gather around, have fun, win prizes, and overall, have a good time. Dendy shook her head as she continued onto her destination. While hanging around a small festival would be nice, she never knew what the interest was.

"Hi-yah! Ooo-wah!"

The sounds of a familiar little kid quickly brought her attention as she noticed a young boy in a blue jacket and red headband walking out with some flyers, as if looking vigilant. Smiling, Dendy approached the boy as she gave her usual greeting. "Greetings, KO."

KO immediately turned with a happy smile as he exclaimed, "Dendy!"

"May I inquire as to what you're up to today?" Dendy asked, adjusting her goggles.

"Oh, I'm just hanging up these flyers around the plaza. Mr. Gar told Rad to go around and hang them, but Rad wanted to take a break, so he assigned me to do it. I figured a walk around the plaza would be quite pleasant." KO smiled towards his friend, who could only give a smile back. "Hey, you want to help me hang these flyers?"

Dendy paused as she said, "I suppose I do not have any other things on my schedule..."

"Great!" KO smiled as he put the patch of flyers down as he said, "I'm going to go get tape, you make sure these flyers don't fly away!"

Dendy nodded as KO immediately ran back inside. Dendy sighed as she sat down and picked up a flyer as she carefully read it.

'The Lakewood Plaza Festival:

One day only Sunday!

Have all the fun you can desire, heroes and people alike! All are welcome.'

Dendy could only put the flyer back down as she paused to think about it. It seems this festival was really a big deal, not that she couldn't blame the people. After all, this festival only happens once a year.

It was then she noted the picture on the flyer as she gave it a closer examination. It was silhouetted, but from the looks of things, it seemed to be a man and a woman sitting down at a table together, holding hands and sharing milkshakes. Dendy paused as she thought to herself, "That could be me and KO sitting down there..."

Dendy's eyes widened as she shook that thought off her head. She couldn't believe that she was thinking those thoughts about KO again! Ever since she and him became best friends, Dendy always started to feel a little different whenever she was around KO or when she even thought about him. At first, she thought it was because she admired him as a hero who was growing up a little bit by bit... but the more she hung around him, the more her heart started to race faster. She growled as even now, her heart was beating again. She held it by her webbed hands as she groaned. How could she even feel for him this way? For all she knew, he might not like her back... in that way.

And she was afraid that people would see this relationship as weird... a kappa and a human together? How would people even react to something like that? Dendy knew it was morally wrong... but yet, she couldn't get her mind off the fact that she was, indeed, in love with KO.

She looked down sadly, wondering about the probabilities of her relationship with KO advancing as KO came out with the tape.

"All right, I'm ready to go!" KO smiled as he noticed Dendy's face. "Er, Dendy, are you feeling okay?"

Dendy snapped out of her thoughts, looking at KO in pure confusion... then shook her head as she tried to remain calm. "I am perfectly all right, KO. I was just... inquiring to myself."

KO paused as he looked over at the flyers and smiled, "Oh yeah, the festival coming up tomorrow. You know, Mr. Gar's is giving me a half day tomorrow so that I can spend the rest of the afternoon checking out the festival. Mom told me she's going to give me enough money to help myself to anything they supply... as long as I don't stray TOO far from the plaza."

"That sounds wonderful." Dendy paused.

KO paused as he looked at the kappa girl. "But... hey, maybe after my shift, maybe we can... hang out at the festival together?"

Dendy froze in surprise as she looked at KO. "M-me? You want to go out with me?"

"Well, yeah. I mean, you're one of my best friends from school, right? And you look like you need to give your brain a rest." KO said. "Maybe we can have some fun together at the festival tomorrow. Would you like to come with me?"

Dendy stared at KO as her heart started beating wildly. Sure, KO may not understand love quite yet, but maybe... just maybe there is a bit of hope between her and the boy she admired... nay, loved.

She gave a small smile as the kappa hugged the boy. "I would love to hang out with you, KO."

KO looked surprised before laughing a bit. "Whoa, we got ourselves a hugger."

Dendy let go of KO blushing as KO grabbed a stack of flyers. "Let's get those flyers hung up around the plaza, and I can tell you the plans on what we can do for the festival along the way."

"That sounds like a plan." Dendy nodded as she grabbed the other stack and started to follow KO.

And thus, as the two kids started hanging flyers around and KO laying down some information on what to do at the festival with Dendy, Dendy found herself becoming more interested with the idea of hanging around KO at the festival as she figured that if things worked out... then maybe they might grow even closer in love than what she had thought.

"Who knows?" Dendy thought to herself as she gave a loving sigh. "We might share a kiss... maybe not this festival, but if it goes well... we might consider a second date..."

And with that, I will end this one-shot! How did you guys like it? Like I said, OK KO: Let's Be Heroes is a very good show, and I would highly recommend it for those who like superhero shows... who knows, I might write more OK KO fanfictions in the future... maybe more KO x Dendy, but what do you guys think? Anyway, thank you all for reading, and have a wonderful day!
