Hello Lovies! Long time no see! So, I was not happy with how I ended "Just One Date". So, I decided to write this spin-off type story. You don't have to read Just One Date to get it, but it helps I guess.
Anyway, please enjoy!
Love ya bunches,

Ladybug and Chat Noir sat on a moonlit rooftop and leaned against each other while staring into the Parisian night. It had been 6 years since Hawkmoth had been defeated but the pair still guarded the streets of Paris. Newer and more aggressive criminals had emerged from the shadows and the duo was always there to save the day.
They had just dropped a robber off at the police station earlier that night. The man had been periodically mugging young business women and men. After a brief battle he was easily apprehended and brought into the police station. After they dropped him off they went to their favorite spot; the rooftop where they first met. They sat with their arms wrapped around each other in a comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's company. That is, until Ladybug broke the silence with an abrupt proclamation.
"I'm pregnant." Ladybug suddenly blurted out, her voice soft, yet matter-of fact.
"Wh-What?" Chat practically fell off the roof as he turned to his wife. Looking at her with a combination of shock, happiness and nerves, he watched as she smiled gently and nodded.
"I found out earlier today. You're going to be a fath-"Before she could even finish she was enveloped in the strong arms of her husband, squeezing her firmly.
"I'm so happy. We've been trying so long…" She looked up at his face and saw the small droplets falling from his piercing green eyes.
After they had gotten married 2 years ago, they quickly assimilated into married life; moving in together, forming a routine in the morning. They eventually settled into their new careers as well, Marinette as a designer and Adrien as an executive at his father's company. Everything was going well, except for one thing. They had been trying to have kids since their first wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to be able to get pregnant. That is, until now.
That's why the young couple cried tears of happiness while they held each other on that rooftop, celebrating that which they had begun to lose hope would ever happen.
"Just one thing Mari…" After a few minutes, Adrien looked up and wiped his eyes,
"WHY THE HELLWERE YOU FIGHTING AN ARMED ROBBER WHILE PREGNANT!?"
"You can do it Mari, One more push!" Adrien stood next to his wife's hospital bed, his hand held tightly in her grasp, a little too tightly in his opinion but he couldn't complain based on the screams of pain emitted by the young mother-to-be.
"Come on Mari!"
"Adrien. Shut. Up!" The usually tame young woman gritted her teeth and snarled at her husband.
"You did this to me! Why did you do this? Sweet Jesus!" Adrien felt a mixture of worry, excitement, nerves and amusement. He had never seen Marinette like this and, though he felt bad about her pain, he had to admit her words were amusing.
"It's a boy!" Marinette smiled as Adrien went over to the doctor and cut the umbilical cord. The baby boy was then swiftly placed on Marinette's chest. The new mother shed tears of love and joy as she gazed down at the new life in her arms.
"Hello, Louis." She cooed and gently moved the small tuft of black hair out of his face. Adrien came and put his arms around his wife and newborn son. Suddenly, Marinette got another contraction.
"Adrien, take Louis please." She gasped as her husband took their son in his arms and Marinette gripped the railings.
"Looks like baby number 2 couldn't stand being away from Louis." The doctor stood before Marinette as she once again began pushing. The nurse took Louis from Adrien's arms to take him to be weighed.
Once he had ensured the safety of his son, Adrien went over to Marinette once again and held her hand.
"God. This baby has no patience." She attempted to joke as another contraction hit. When they had learned they were having twins they were elated. They had before struggled to even have one, now they had two! But, like many first time parents, they immediately began to research. Their house was thoroughly baby-proofed, there were 2 cribs, highchairs, and everything else they bought. Marinette had also researched the labour process intensely. So, she was surprised at how soon her second baby was coming.
"Marinette, one more push!" She pushed with all her might and the cry of her daughter reached her ears. Little Emma was placed on her mother's chest and Marinette breathed a sigh of relief. She had successfully brought 2 children into this world.
The nurse took Emma to be cleaned and weighed and Marinette looked over at her husband, exhausted.
"You did it, Mari." Adrien smiled down at her and gently kissed her forehead. The new mother smiled tiredly and yawned, her eyes barely staying open.
"Go ahead and sleep My Lady, you deserve it." Then her eyes closed, and she drifted to sleep.
It had been a little over 2 months since the twins were born. Adrien had started going back to work a month before and Marinette stayed home, recovering from the birth and taking care of the twins.
The new mother sat dozing on the couch. After what seemed like hours of rocking, her two fussy babies finally settled down for a nap. Unfortunately, she was awoken abruptly by screams from outside, followed but the screams of one child, then the other. Marinette moaned and got up. She quickly scooped her two children up in her arms, put on her shoes and exited the house.
Despite Adrien's pleas, Marinette was still determined to fulfil her duties as Ladybug. So whenever she heard screams she knew she should jump into duty. It was a bit difficult with Louis and Emma but lucky for her, her parent's bakery was directly across the street from her and Adrien's home.
She quickly jogged over and entered the bakery.
"Mama! Papa! Can you watch Louis and Emma?!" She yelled as she went up the stairs. As if she had been waiting, Sabine instantly grabbed the children out of her arms.
"Of course! I'm always happy to spend time with my grandbabies!" The new grandmother cooed then looked up at her daughter. "Though, this is sudden. Does Alya need help again?"
Marinette nodded. Alya had just had her second child with Nino on top of moving into a new home. So, every once in a while, Mari would go over and help them decorate. But this time she only used it as a cover-up.
"Thank you, mama." She said with a nod. She kissed each child on the forehead before dashing out the door, confident in their safety.
As soon as she made it passed the threshold of the building Tikki flew out of her pocket.
"Marinette, I know you're tired, and you still aren't fully recovered from the delivery. You don't have to do this!" Tikki insisted. She felt bad considering she was tuckered out just watching the young parents take care of their new additions. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to actually experience it.
"No Tikki. It's my duty. SPOTS ON!" With that, Ladybug took her place. When another scream echoed out the heroine leapt into action and swung her yoyo to a lamppost, swinging toward the sound.
She landed in a secluded area in what seemed to be a small forest. Before her stood an elderly looking woman standing over a young man. When he caught sight of Ladybug he quickly attempted to get up from where he had most likely fallen earlier and run toward the safety of the woman.
Unfortunately, with surprising speed and strength, the elderly woman grabbed the young man's arm and threw him back down.
"Please, Ladybug! She's going to kill me!" Ladybug nodded and ran at the woman, though she was taught to respect her elders she was sure this could be an exception.
Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a glint of metal and instinctively jumped in the air, the knife narrowly missing her as she did a backflip away.
When she landed she flinched a bit at the pain still present in her abdomen, hoping the woman hadn't seen it. Unfortunately for her, the silver-haired assailant was quite observant.
She turned toward the spotted woman and grinned warmly, only the knife in her hand giving away her sinister intentions.
"I see now." The woman slowly walked toward Ladybug while letting the knife flip in her hand absently. "That's why you've been gone. You were pregnant. My, my. I remember when you and Chat Noir blushed just looking at each other and now you have kids! Time sure goes by fast." Marinette tried to put as much distance between her and the menacing woman, but her words scared her. Was she really able to tell she recently had kids just by her pain, how did she know Chat was her husband? They never made that public and even made an effort to make their relationship seem professional while transformed.
Still frozen in shock the villain was almost upon her when a black blur dropped between the two and sent the older woman flying with a well-placed kick.
"What are you doing!? Didn't I tell you to leave this to me for the next few months!? And where are Louis and Emma!?" Chat glared at his wife, not liking her putting herself in danger so soon after their kids were born. He was so caught up in his dislike that he didn't notice the lady raise her knife above him.
"Chat!" Ladybug pulled him and they both rolled away as the knife came down where Chat once stood.
"We can talk about this later. For now, let's handle this." Chat reluctantly agreed and the two got to work battling the woman. Like usual, the fight only lasted about 10 minutes. Once the woman was secured the police came to take her away. But before she got in the car, she looked into Ladybug's eyes and whispered a word of warning.
"You ruined my fun Ladybug. Soon I'll ruin what you love." Then she was pushed in and the car drove away.
"Mari? What's wrong?" Adrien looked at his wife with concern. Her face showed horror but he couldn't seem to figure out what scared her so much. Then she quickly shook her head.
"Nothing. Let's go home. You can yell at me there."
"You look familiar? Do I know you?" Marinette stood in her backyard and gazed curiously at the old woman as she set up the petting zoo. It was the twins' second birthday and Marinette and Adrien decided to do something special since Emma was sick the year before and couldn't properly enjoy her birthday.
"I don't think so, dearie." The woman said gently as she set a basin of water at the feet of a goat in the pen. "But all us old ladies look the same." The woman chuckled sweetly and Marinette quickly apologized.
"No, no. I didn't mean that. You just seem so familiar! But I must be mistaken!" Adrien then opened the back door and entered the back yard.
"What are you ladies talking about?" The handsome young man said as he wrapped an arm around Marinette. "Hey, don't we know you?" He said to the older woman but quickly looked away when a sharp elbow to the ribs from his better half told him to let it go.
"Anyway. Thank you so much for coming. We can't believe you're doing this for free!"
"Well, I love the children. It always fills my heart to see them scream and cry when they see the animals. Their little faces make it worth it." Mari smiled politely and quickly excused herself to finish setting up the party.
An hour later, Alya, Nino and their two children were the first to arrive.
"Yo! What's up dudes!" Nino yelled at the sight of his friends.
"Uncle Nino!" Little Emma toddled over to the familiar man from where she stood next to her grandmother, with her older brother following closely behind her. Nino picked the little girl into his arms and raised her high.
"Hello there, little miss. Happy birthday!" She giggled and Nino put her down to pick up Louis. Marinette smiled as more people began trickling in.
By then, a slew of toddlers were running around the Agreste's backyard and all the parents were watching them play from the patio where Marinette had set up chairs, snacks and "adult" beverages.
"I can't believe they're getting so big!" Marinette said to Alya as she watched their children play together. "Though I will say. For some reason I feel a bit uneasy. My mom senses are telling me something's off."
"Girl you're fine. You're just sensing the terrible twos." Alya joked as she sipped her margarita.
"Yeah, you're probably right. Anyway, it's almost time to cut the cake. I'm going to go get Adrien." She got up from her seat and went through the crowd to find her husband. But, she still contemplated what her gut was telling her. Why was she so anxious?
She found Adrien talking to some of the neighbours and waved as she approached.
"Sorry fellas. Can I borrow him really quick?" They all waved and continued their conversation as Marinette dragged him away.
"Adrien, it's almost time for ca- OH MY GOD! IT'S HER!' Marinette's eyes immediately widened as she remembered the face of the old woman they had arrested a couple years earlier.
"What?" Adrien looked at her in confusion.
"The zoo lady! She's the lady we defeated a couple years ago!" Adrien's eyes widened as he recalled what she was talking about and without a further word they both rushed to the children.
When they got there everything seemed to be normal, except 3 people were missing.
"Adrien! She took them! She took Louis and Emma!" Marinette turned frantically towards her husband who was already walking back into the crowd.
He emerged a few seconds later. "I asked your mom to finish with the party. I told her the kids got sick and we were taking them for medicine. Now let's go!" With that, they rushed to the front yard and dashed down the street.
As soon as they were far enough away, they transformed. They didn't even need to say a word, Plagg and Tikki did it automatically.
"That bitch is going to pay for taking our kids," Adrien said sternly. The two nodded at one another and held hands. Ladybug threw her yo-yo and Chat extended his staff as the two went off in search of their little miracles.
"Have you found them?" Chat Noir asked his partner as they met in their usual meeting spot.
"No, but, I did find Emma's bow." Ladybug held out the little red bow that was in their daughter's blonde locks only minutes before.
The couple had been searching around Paris, deciding to split up to cover more ground. After an hour, they still had no luck.
"Adrien… what if… what if we don't find them." Ladybug looked down at the small bow in her hands as her lip began to shake. "This is all our fault! We put our children in danger by being heroes!"
"Mari, don't say that!" Adrien said sternly, lifting his Lady's chin with his finger. "We'll find them, and get them home, safe and sound." He gently wiped the tears from her face. "Now let's think. Where would she go?"
Marinette suddenly gasped. "I know where she is!" She quickly sprinted away, throwing her yo-yo to a nearby streetlamp, her husband quickly running to keep up.
Marinette reached the forest area where they had initially met the old woman almost 2 years ago. Just as she expected, the old woman was there, and behind her were the 2 most important beings in her life. They were placed in a pen with a large Terrier sitting with them. They were happily petting the dog and eating a lollipop. When the two toddlers saw their mother they immediately smiled and toddled to the end of the pen.
"Mommy!" They both waved and Marinette immediately rushed toward them, with Adrien finally arriving and doing the same. That is until they heard the dog growl. The young parents stopped immediately and the old woman let out a maniacal chuckle.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Wouldn't want the babies getting hurt, now would you? All I have to do is say the command and that dog will have those poor babies for dinner."
Chat and Ladybug looked at their two children and watched as the Terrier laid back down, seeming to no longer be in attack mode. At least for now, their babies were safe.
"What do you want? Please! We'll do anything! Just give us back our children!"
The elderly woman just chuckled as she walked over to the pen where the children were playing.
"Don't you worry your little heads. They'll be safe. As long as you do what I ask."
"Anything! Please! Just don't hurt them." Marinette pleaded and the woman smiled sweetly, which was disturbing considering the current situation.
"At first, I wanted to take your children and kill them. Don't you remember Ladybug? I warned you when you two captured me." A tingle went up the young heroine's spine. Those words the woman whispered in her ear came back to her.
"Yes, but what has changed?" Adrien said calmly. Marinette was amazed at how well he held his composure, she was practically falling apart.
"Then, I saw their cute little faces and couldn't bring myself to kill them." She bent down and mussed Louis's hair, Adrien had to pinch himself to keep from jumping the woman.
"So, I decided to kill you instead… but then these little babies would be parentless, and at my age, I can't take care of them, and foster care is horrible. So, now for my ultimate plan."
She sauntered up to where the heroic duo stood and patted both of their cheeks.
"You're going to kill each other." She said in a merry tone as if she announced they were going to Disney World. "You two will fight to the death, the one who survives will raise the kids. Sounds fun, right?"
The couple stared in shock and Marinette finally broke down.
"Please. Please. Just let them go. You can kill me but don't make me hurt him!" The lady rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers. Suddenly, the dog stood and growled at the young children, who began to cry, frightened by the dog towering over them.
"Ok! Ok! We'll do it! Please, just, don't hurt them!" Chat said in an attempt to pacify the woman, who once again snapped her fingers, allowing the dog to lay back down.
"That's what I thought. You should always listen to your elders." The woman walked toward the pen and sat down on a tree stump, getting comfortable before clearing her throat.
"Now, fight to the death. You have 15 minutes for one of you to die or the children do. If you try any funny business you will be punished." She looked menacingly at the toddlers who were back to sucking on their lollipops. "BEGIN!"
Chat and Ladybug looked at each other, unsure what to do, they walked towards one another, simply staring.
"Adrien, what do we do? I don't want to kill you!" Marinette looked up at her husband.
"I know, My Lady, but we have no choice. You are the best parents, you have to live and raise Emma and Louis, it's the only w-". He was immediately cut off with a kiss from his wife, who was now crying.
"I can't do this without you, Kitty." She looked desperately into her lover's eyes, only for the moment to be interrupted by an exaggerated sigh from the vile woman who caused this situation.
"B-O-R-I-N-G! Come on and fight! Don't make me lose my patience!"
Adrien and Marinette looked into each other's eyes and nodded, taking offensive stances, then the fight began.
Marinette jumped into the hair, landing a high kick on her husband's face, then, when she landed, sweeping her legs out from under him. The man fell to the ground and groaned before standing back up and landing a punch on his wife's chest.
Ladybug quickly backflipped away to avoid any more injury, throwing her yo-yo as she went so it wrapped around her partner's legs. With a strong tug, the cat-themed hero fell to the ground and went flying across the clearing, landing in the tree directly above the evil woman. An audible snap was heard and based on the pain in his leg and chest, Adrien figured he broke his leg and a few ribs.
Meanwhile, the vile woman clapped and cheered. "yes! This is what I like to see!"
"Adrien. I love you. I'm so sorry." She said as she threw her yo-yo and it wrapped once again around her husband."
"It's ok Princess, just do it." Adrien closed his eyes, waiting for his wife to end his life. He knew he should be scared, but he was happy knowing that his wife and his children, the most important people in the world to him, would live long, happy lives.
He felt the tug on his abdomen and pain radiated through him. Then, he felt as he landed with a thud on something soft. He opened his eyes to see the old woman beneath him, groaning in pain.
Then, the dog jumped the fence and came running towards them. Adrien once again closed his eyes, expecting death only to hear a yelp as he opened his eyes and saw the dog had been kicked to the ground and a polka dotted muzzle strapped onto him.
He couldn't believe it. His lady had used him as a bludgeon to knock out the lady, and when the dog had tried to come to her rescue, she used her lucky charm to get him down too.
Adrien smiled and tried to stand, only to fall down. "Mari! You did it! I can't believe it!" Marinette grinned widely as she rushed to the pen where her husband and kids were, she quickly scooped up her babies and kissed them all over, bringing them to their father.
The small family sat together and held each other, the parents crying and the children looking on in confusion.
After a few minutes, Marinette wiped her tears as the twins slept in her arms.
"Adrien, we can't do this anymore." Marinette looked into her partner's eyes.
"What are you talking about, Mari?" Adrien said as he took Emma into his arms so Marinette didn't have to hold them both.
"We can't continue to be Ladybug and Chat Noir. We have a family now. And tonight just proved that, by being our alter-egos, we're putting our children in danger."
Adrien nodded and looked down. He knew she was right, but it was hard. They fell in love because they were Ladybug and Chat Noir. He felt brave and met his best friend by being Chat Noir. Saying goodbye to Plagg would be heartbreaking. But, he knew she was right.
The partners looked deep into the other's eyes and dropped their transformations. Immediately, the Kwami went and hugged their holders as best as they could.
"Tikki. I'm so sorry. But I can't be your holder anymore. I have to protect Emma and Louis." Marinette said teary-eyed as she held the small god in her hand.
"Marinette. It's ok. Don't worry about me, you need to protect your family." Tikki then kissed the top of Marinette's head. "Just know that I love you. Out of all of the Ladybug's, you are the one I'm going to miss the most."
Meanwhile, Plagg sat on Adrien's shoulder, bawling like Louis does when he falls.
"Plagg, don't cry buddy!" Adrien gently pat his little friend.
"What are you talking about? I'm not crying?" Plagg sniffed and the two smiled at each other.
"See ya later, buddy." Plagg nodded and gently pressed his foreheads to Adrien's then gently kissing his forehead just as Tikki did.
"Goodbye." Tikki and Plagg then flew into the distance, leaving their previous holder's teary-eyed.
"Hey Tikki," Plagg said, as the small family began to fade from view. "Do you think… Louis and Emma…" Tikki smiled and nodded.
"Absolutely." Plagg grinned and hugged Tikki. The two then flew off into the Parisian night.
So... Did you want to saunter through a field of Chocolate flavored Daisies or drown in flaming fondue?
I hope you enjoyed and, as always, I would love to hear your constructive comments (And praises)!
