Chloe felt bad after arguing with Beca. She shouldn't have pushed it too far. After all, she and Beca were together about just one month now. Well, together but not really together. They had sex a couple times and kissed a lot, but no one knew about them. Except for Aubrey, of course.
The blonde figured it out on her own at the Bella's reunion and asked Chloe about it amd it took a lot of effort to get her to talk. It wasn't like the redhead didn't want to tell her, she was just respecting Beca's choice of not letting anyone know. Yet. Except Beca hadn't used the word "Yet" and that's what made Chloe kind of freak out. She loved Beca so much and wanted to tell the whole world about it. And the thought that Beca wouldn't feel the same way scared her. She didn't want to be just another one. She wanted to be The One. Just like Beca was to her.
She heard a knock on her hotel door and rushed to open it, hoping it was Beca so she could apologize about their fight.
"Oh.. Hey Bree..." She couldn't help but to sound a little disappointed. Heading back to her bed and leaving Aubrey to close the door, Chloe curled herself back into the covers.
"Were you expecting someone else?" Aubrey saw the fight Chloe and Beca had last night, but after the brunette turned her back at her best friend, the redhead avoided even looking at Aubrey. But the blonde knew her best friend and knew she was trying to hide the tears in her eyes. It happened everytime Chloe and Beca fought and Aubrey kind of hated the brunette for it. How dare someone make her cinnamon roll cry like that?! "Maybe Beca?"
"Kinda..."
"I thought you guys talked last night?... I saw her coming up here a couple of hours after you guys fought..."
"I dunno..." The way Chloe said it, voice low like she was about to cry again and lower lip popped out, made Aubrey's heart ache. "I fell asleep after a few minutes I got here.."
"Oh... Maybe you should go look for her. I haven't seen her at breakfast, she's probably in her room."
"'Kay... You're right..." And with a sigh, Chloe got up from her bed and changed her pyjamas to a blue dress.
"I'll be at the pool with the girls if you need me, okay?" Aubrey placed a soft kiss to Chloe's forehead and left the room.
A few minutes later Chloe finally got out of her room and walked towards Beca's. As she was about to knock, the door opened and her jaw dropped to the ground.
"Oh, hi, Red" Calamity grinned at her, putting on her shirt and looking back inside the room. "You have visit, Beca. See you later." She winked at Chloe and walked down the hallway.
Chloe was still in shock when Beca showed up at the door, wearing only a sweater a size bigger then hers. Chloe's sweater. And only Chloe's sweater.
"You... you slept with her?!" Tears were now blurring her vision, her heart pounding hard against her ribcage and she tried to keep the tears from falling.
"I'm sorry..." Beca's voice was low, as if she were to talk a bit louder Chloe would run away.
"Are you?! 'Cause you don't look like it. Why would you do that?! After I practically begged you to go public about us!!"
"I can explain..."
"Oh, please try to explain this. I would love to hear what crappy excuse you'll come up with."
"Okay, first of all, you were totally flirting with Cincinnati there back at the lobby."
"It's Chicago. And what's wrong with it?! You were the one who had sex with someone else!!"
"I was drunk!! And you never said we were exclusive"
"THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO THIS WHOLE FUCKING WEEKEND, BECA!!" Chloe exploded, tears running freely down her face. "Why are you shutting me out again?!"
"I'm not!"
"Yes you are!! It's like we're going backwards, for fuck's sake!!" Beca was silent for a couple of minutes just watching Chloe while the redhead tried uselessly to wipe the tears from her cheeks.
"Everything okay here?..." Aubrey's voice filled the silence between the other two and as she came closer, Chloe tried her best to stop crying.
"Yeah, everything's fine..." She smiled weakly at the tall blonde who was now at her side, looking at Beca.
"What did you do?"
"It was nothing, Bree, let it go..." Chloe grabbed Aubrey's arm, turning to leave, but the taller one stood there looking furiously at Beca and Chloe knew Aubrey wanted to kill her.
"Why you still protect her?! She clearly did something and I'm not letting her g-"
"Aubrey, please..." At the sound of Chloe's weak voice, Aubrey let out a sigh and turned to the redhead, nodding.
"Okay..." Then looked back at Beca. "You stay away from her. I don't care about what you've done, I won't let Chloe cry for you anymore."
And as Beca opened her mouth to say something Chloe pulled Aubrey downstairs, the blonde hugging her friend's waist as some sort of comfort.
