Wish #02

People to Trust

"Huh…? Where are you going so early in the morning like this? Golden week just started," Nagisa said by the sofa in the living room. "Not only that, aren't you dressed too nicely?" He asked, squinting his eyes. "What is it? A date?"

Chizuru looked to her brother for one moment. "If you're curious, you can come," she said, her expression was unchanging.

The teen looked to her, then to the TV show he's watching, and stood up. "Give me a minute to get ready." And he wasted no time to sprint to his bedroom on the second floor.

After yelling to their parents how he's going somewhere with her, he slid sideways on the railing of the stairs downward to the first floor and landed on his two feet perfectly. "I got us permission to go out," He said, looking accomplished.

She smiled wryly. "What was okaasan yelling about then?"

"Dunno," he said. "I think she wants me to go see a music performance with her again. Geez, everything is because she can't seem to ever find you that she gave up and decided to drag me instead. I don't like music like you do, so it's strange."

"Well, you can always try and escape each and every time too," she said simply before going out first.

"Oi, neesan, wait for a bit!" he called while tying his shoelaces.

.

.

"So… where are we going that we need to take the bullet train?" Nagisa asked curiously. "I was planning to laze around all day today…"

"You wouldn't be able to do that. Okaasan wanted you to go with her, didn't she?" Chizuru said absently, looking outside the window next to her.

"Yeah, but still… so where are we going?"

"You have your train ticket, no?"

Nagisa let out an exasperated huff. "I know what city the station we're going to arrive to, but where are we going?" She stayed silent. "Fine."

The long comfortable silence after that was broken when he spoke up again. "Hey neesan?"

"Mm?"

"Do you hate otousan and okaasan?" He asked quietly, turning his gaze toward her.

The question took her by surprise, but she gathered herself quick enough. After a moment of thought, she answered him honestly, "No, I just dislike them very much."

Silence ensued again and she thought it was the last thing he had in mind, but apparently he had more to ask or say to her.

"… Hey… Oneesan… you're my most important person. To me, your happiness matters more than anybody else's. So please take care of yourself more instead of me. Don't be a hero for me. I don't want you to get hurt either," he said softly, out of nowhere.

To say that she felt touched would be the understatement of the year.

"Who are we visiting that we need to bring food?" Nagisa asked as they lined up behind the convenience store's counters.

The gazes of others in their immediate area were quite distracting, but it wasn't anything they could do about. After all, they have doll-like facial features, were very good looking, and could even pass as different gender twin models. Their wavy hair looked soft and fluffy in light turquoise color, their skin was smooth, unblemished, and ivory, their faces were small and proportional, their eyes were big and blue, their lashes were long, their eyebrows were symmetrical and perfect, their noses have pretty silhouettes, their lips were pink and looked soft, their chins were narrow, and even while sitting, it's apparent that they're tall and have fairly toned lean bodies for their gender.

"You'll see," she said vaguely. She was still not telling.

.

.

"We're here," she said. They were standing in front of a tall apartment building.

"Finally," Nagisa grumbled. "So who lives here?"

"A sort of friend," she said. "Wait for me in the lobby, Nagi."

She took the takeaway food and spread her wings. Her wings flapped and with a speed her brother didn't expect, she shot into the air and got to her destination. It was a balcony on the eighteenth and highest floor. She arrived in less than ten seconds.

(Nagisa stared at the space she was just standing on in disbelief).

Not to waste any time, she knocked on the glass panes of the balcony owner several times.

There wasn't a sound when she was confident that the occupant was present. Her ears heard voices from inside after all. The voice was telling her that they want to sleep so go away. Not having it, she huffed and knocked on the glass panel again. She then heard the voice telling her in an annoyed tone that they wish whoever outside 'Just come in by yourself for god's sake!'. That made her sweatdrop.

"How do I just come in, you big idiot? You locked the-

She trailed, blinking owlishly when she managed to slide the glass door open. "What the hell?" She blurted, entering the apartment unit looking very much dumbfounded. Then vein throbbed on her temple at the carelessness. Chizuru pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation while walking to the dining table. She placed the food there and walked to the bedroom with a purpose. She knocked on the bedroom door. "Takami-san, it's Chizuru. I'm coming in, alright?"

The voice she heard moaned about wanting to sleep. She rolled his eyes and opened the door, blocking her sixth hearing. "Takami-san, rise and shine, it's already 10 AM," She said, walking through the room and opening the curtains of the window a bit so the room was brighter.

"Ugh… Amelie, you b*tch… it's my day off…" a groan was heard from under the bed sheet.

She tugged on the bed sheet slightly to expose his head. She watched as he blearily opened his eyes. He blinked once, twice, and stared up to her. She offered a little smile down to him.

"Good morning, Takami-san," she greeted.

He sat up sluggishly, lifted his left hand, and rubbed his face. "Chicchan," he said tiredly, his voice was sort of raspy. "Entering a man's home is already bad enough, but you entered his bedroom? Don't you have any sense of danger?" He asked with a sigh, looking up to her in exasperation. His bed sheet had fallen to his waist, gifting her a great view.

"Of course I do," she said brightly. Right after she said that, her eyes curiously slid down from her face to his sexy neckline, down to his chest and arms, down to his abdomen- "Yup," she repeated, her gaze returned to his face. Her face pinkened and her smile was a tad more sheepish.

He looked very much amused. "Kids these days," he remarked, clicking his tongue.

She scratched her cheek, her wings shifted a little because of her embarrassment.

"Why don't you go out for a bit? Or would you like to see what's under this?" He asked slowly, with a little smirk on his lips, pulling up the sheet a little. "This oniisan's…

Her face went beet red. She took his head pillow and tossed it to his face. "No thanks," she refused, shuddering. "I'll leave but hurry up, okay?"

The man snickered, slipping out of his bed and revealing that he was wearing pajama pants. He threw his bed sheet over to her and ruffled her hair. "You're free to stay or go anywhere. Wait for a bit."

Chizuru watched as the man headed to the bathroom with a towel in hand. Staring at the bed sheet in her hand, she decided she didn't want to get tangled up in more messes so she simply folded the bed sheet, placed it on his bed, and exited his bedroom. The girl waited in the dining room, contacting her brother and reading the news on the internet.

.

.

"Haa… my day off is used to babysit…" he moaned, as they made their way to the first floor. "You're even prepared with a bribe…"

She shrugged. "We really need to practice our quirks, Takami-san. Sorry that you have to sacrifice your day off for this…"

"We? And are you really? You had zero interest."

"I did, but no more. I'm not going to look away anymore," she said quietly. "Both me and my little brother are going to enroll in a hero course next year. We have to prepare well."

"Your little brother? You have a little brother?" he asked in surprise before blurting, "Huh? You made him wait in the lobby the entire time?"

She made a face to him. "I told you to hurry up, didn't I? Besides, you're not even acquainted yet. I couldn't possibly bring him to where you live."

The man facepalmed.

"Your priority is so skewed," he uttered, lightly slapping her with his wing.

She nearly fell over because she wasn't prepared. Her wings may be pretty, but they weren't light, and she doesn't have them around all the time to handle surprise attacks like that. "Takami-san!" She whined after getting her balance back. Her face was red in embarrassment.

The man snorted and started to laugh.

"Pfft- Ahaha! Sorry sorry! You're too funny, Chicchan!"

Her lips formed into a pout and she walked next to him. She tried to mimic him, trying to consciously move her wings as if they're her hands. It wasn't as if she didn't know how to move them, but over the years… flying had become something she did out of instinct like running and riding a bicycle. She just has to want it for it to happen.

"Ungh," she let out, unaware of it herself. She was just too absorbed in gaining a semblance of control over her wings while the elevator was going down. Even after that, her wings were shifting and moving about. She didn't notice the fond gaze directed at her.

"Soo… we're already at the lobby. So where's… oh is that him?"

She looked up and no, she didn't see her brother at once. Her attention was to the reporters and journalists (paparazzi?) who were lying in wait and immediately paying attention to the man beside her and her.

She wondered if it's okay. Hm.

Well, she's going to be a hero anyway. It should be fine to get her feet wet with early public exposure.

She looked around and saw her brother dozing off. She instantly felt guilty about it. "Yup. Don't we look really similar?" She asked, her wings fluttering slightly, just like how she wanted them to do.

She jogged to her brother and smirked. "Hey, Nagi~ Someone will jump you if you don't pay attention…" she said, poking her brother's cheek with the tip of her right wing. She was the one doing it, but it felt rather funny. It was an interesting experience.

Her brother's eyes snapped open and he stared up to her blearily. "I see that you got enlightened while I got so bored I fell asleep, oneesan," he mumbled before dozing off again.

She poked his cheek again. No use.

She lifted him up in her arms and it successfully made him wide awake. Flushing beet red, he exclaimed, "P- put me down, neesan- Kami, you're embarrassing me!"

'Heh.'

She dropped him and he fell to a crouch on the floor smoothly. His face was still completely red. "I can't believe you did that. I'm a guy…"

Chizuru smiled innocently. "Anyway, Nagi… meet the person we came here to get," she said, looking around curiously. "Umm…"

The man had been standing right behind her all along.

"Looking for someone?"

She flinched and her wings shot out, hitting the top ranked hero on the chest. The hero didn't expect the strength of it and fell on his rear.

*thud!*

She turned around at once and saw him looking up at her owlishly. She paled. "Kami… I'm so sorry! Are you hurt, Takami-san? Why on earth do you think it's alright to do that?"

The man blinked once, twice, and reached out his hands. She instantly reached out her hands and pulled him up with one smooth movement to a standing position before doing the same to her brother. She didn't even realize it was just a spoiled act by the calculative man who was surprised by her sheer raw strength. Said man was clenching and unclenching his hands thoughtfully.

"Anyway, he's the person I mentioned. Takami-san, meet Shirakumo Nagisa, my younger brother." She turned to her brother. "Nagi, meet Takami Keigo. A sort of friend of mine. He's more like a senior and older brother than a friend."

Nagisa stared toward the man with wide disbelieving eyes. He looked dazed. "Please tell me I'm wrong… but isn't this person… the third ranked hero 'Hawks'?"

Chizuru nodded. "Yeah. Anyways!" She turned to Takami. "Nagisa is an emitter. I'm sure you will get it instantly when he gets going. Instead of formalities and stuff… how will we do this? Do we go to an isolated area?"

Takami processed what she said, looked toward her brother calculatingly, before shrugging. "What for? A wide enough clearing where you won't accidently endanger anybody would suffice. I'm around after all."

"Do you have a place in mind?"

He thought about it and snapped his fingers. "I know the right place. Let's go."

Author's Note :

If it's not apparent enough, Shirakumo family originally have five members: Dad, Mum, Oboro, Chizuru, and Nagisa. Oboro passed away when he's 17. At the time, Nagisa was 2 y.o, Chizuru was 4 y.o, Mum was 35 y.o, and Dad was 39 y.o.

Right now, it's the end of April and Chizuru is (truthfully) 16, Nagisa is 14, Mom is 47 and Dad is 51. If Oboro is still around, he'd be 30. Their birthdays went like this : Oboro (May 5), Chizuru (July 5), Nagisa (May 7), Dad (February 1), Mom (June 16).

Appearance wise, Chizuru and Nagisa's have been mentioned and you can look up how Oboro looked on the internet. As for their parents, the two took after their mother's appearance wholly while Oboro took after their father. Oboro and Nagisa's light blue hair color (Nagisa's many shades lighter) came from their father. Chizuru's inherited her mother's hair. Confused? The girl dyed her hair so it's the same color as her beloved brothers.

That's it for this chapter, I hope you all like it, and I'm looking forward to your follows, favorites, and reviews. Bye for now~
