Reality Viewing: Naruto the Charming Assassin Charmer

-Chapter 17-

"Those no good stupid… if I even get my hands on them I'm gonna…"

"Holy cow, I've never seen Lala so angry before," Rito said with wide eyes, he and most of the room's occupants watching from a safe distance as said pinkette grumble angrily beside the TV. Her mother was rubbing her head in a soothing manner, trying to calm her down while steam was literally shooting from her nostrils and tail kinking up sporadically. "Annoyed sure, upset definitely, but never…"

"Blood roiling pissed the fuck off?" Momo offered as she peeked out from behind the orange haired teen she and Nana were using as a meat shield.

"Yeah, that."

"Lala's just too nice a person to really hold a grudge most of the time," Nana said nervously, her whole body trembling slightly. "But even she has a limit to how much she can forgive and when she hits it not even daddy is brave enough to face her."

Glancing at the smoldering wreckage of the place that used to be a 'Gid Proofed' bathroom and then towards the all but growling princess, Rito couldn't help but gulp nervously. 'I can see why.'

"…I don't think we should keep watching this." Mikan said after a few moments of silence, getting the whole room's attention at her sudden statement.

"I agree, this whole thing is getting too out of hand." Sephie agreed as she started to reach towards the modified television, more specifically its power cord…

*Smack* "Ow!?"

…Only to yelp in pain when Lala swatted her hand away before she could even get close.

"Lala!? What are you-"

"Don't, just don't," The normally peppy princess said quietly, cutting the queen off just as the screen finished its boot up and went to the normal pause mode. "Please… I need to see what happens next, I have to know if things get better."

Staring at her daughter while rubbing her lightly bruised wrist, Sephie couldn't help but frown as she got ready to firmly tell the girl off. Before the words could even get past her lips though, the younger pinkette turned towards her with a pleading and apologetic look, one that not only showed that she was both sorry for striking her but also how desperate she was for something.

'Dear lord, has she really become that attached to a boy she hasn't even met?' Sure it was quite possibly one of the most kindest yet strongest willed young man she would be proud to say was part of her own kind (if it was ever confirmed at least), but still, it wasn't like they actually knew him personally.

However, the look did its job as Sephie felt her will shatter faster than hot glass in ice water, the mother of three sighing exasperatedly while rubbing Lala's head. "Alright sweetie, but keep your temper under control this time, got it?"

"Yes mama." The eldest daughter of Gid said with her head lightly bowed.

"Alright then." Appeased for the moment, Sephie reluctantly reached forward and hit the play button so the video could start.

Naruto didn't know what to think.

Even after a week of... sorting everything out in his head, he still didn't know what to think of what he had heard. What he now knew to be true. The fact that Sasuke had fallen so deep into the darkness, that he even killed Sakura in his desire for revenge.

'... No... Sakura-chan tried to kill Sasuke too. I just... don't understand...' Naruto didn't know what to think. He had dedicated nearly 4 years to his promise to Sakura... and it was Sakura who went out to try and kill Sasuke. She got others into helping her, and tricked them so that she could go off and fight Sasuke alone.

Sakura tried to kill the person she loved more than anything.

'Aaaand I'm already regretting this,' The queen thought as the screen showed Naruto as he stared up at the sky with his mother's scarf wrapped tightly around his neck and a torn expression. 'Poor child just can't get a break, can he?'

Meanwhile, Lala sniffled as she snuggled into her mother's side, Mikan and Nana did the same with a befuddled looking Yami, and Momo buried her face into Rito's back. Once more the only one not showing any real emotion was Mea, who seemed contemplative but otherwise unaffected at best.

"I knew you'd be up here."

"Kakashi-sensei... What... what do I think?" Naruto asked Kakashi from where he was. At the moment, he was sitting on top of the head of the Fourth Hokage, on the Hokage Rock. If there was anybody who knew what to make of any of this, it was Kakashi. The older man even moved so that he could sit next to Naruto.

He placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder.

"I'm not in a position to tell you that... because unlike me... you're not scum."

"Harsh, that guy really doesn't like himself, does he?" Mikan muttered, able to hear the self-loathing just oozing from the cycloptic man's words.

"It would seem not." Yami agreed with a tilt of her head, her curiosity admittedly a bit peeked despite her distaste for Kakashi's… reading habits.

"Those who break the rules are scum... but people who betray their comrades are lower than scum..." Naruto whispered those old words that Kakashi spoke to them all as Genin.

"A wise saying, harsh but wise." Sephie muttered while her younger daughters nodded in agreement.

He, Sasuke, and Sakura had all been given those words in their starting days. Those were words that he, Naruto, lived by since he became a ninja. They were Kakashi's very first lesson to them, and the most important thing that the man had ever taught them. "... Sasuke and Sakura-chan... They..." Naruto didn't want to say it.

Kakashi was more than willing to.

"Don't think less of them. Not everyone has your heart Naruto, your desire to save everyone. Sasuke is lost in darkness... and killing Sakura, somebody who loved him, more than likely destroyed the last bit of good in his heart." Kakashi wanted to see if Naruto would argue, so he paused and waited for it. He was surprised when Naruto didn't argue, like Naruto already knew what he was saying was true, but didn't want to voice it out loud. "... and Sakura... I don't believe she tried to kill him for herself. I believe that Sakura believed that what she was doing was mercy for Sasuke... and help for you." Kakashi could imagine that much.

"I don't understand, how would Sakura killing Sasuke help Naruto?" Yami asked with a raised brow, since while she had no problem with killing such an arrogant prick herself she didn't see any way it would benefit Naruto.

"If I were to guess, it was the only way she could free Naruto from his promise," Rito said quietly, making the transforming blonde pause. "He'd never give up trying otherwise."

"…Oh, that makes sense."

Sakura, not a doubt in Kakashi's mind, wanted to help both Sasuke and Naruto by killing the boy she loved. Killing him to save what was left of the good in his heart, but sadly, all she did was place herself as the final sacrifice needed to kill off whatever was good in Sasuke's heart.

Kakashi looked down in shame.

"... You killed somebody who loved you."

"He what?!" Lala exclaimed in horror as her eyes widened to the max. "That's horrible! How could he do something like that?!"

"Shh, calm down sweetie," Acting fast despite her own shock, Sephie rubbed her eldest's head soothingly once more to calm her down. "I know it sounds bad but we don't know the full story yet."

"B-but mama-"

"No buts young lady, you promised."

"…Yes mama."

'Oh no, I know where this is going,' Meanwhile, Mikan looked around and saw all the watering eyes before turning to her former assassin friend. "Yami, could you-" A bundle of blonde hair shoots into the closet and retracts with several boxes of tissues that it quickly passes around to everyone. "…Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"Rin, my teammate... She was a Jinchuriki, like you... for the Three Tails. She had a seal placed on her, that would release the Tailed Beast in the village. She jumped in front of my Raikiri, and used me as an instrument to kill herself... but I've never been able to wash her blood off my hands." Kakashi opened up to Naruto. He looked down at the hand that did it, and he could still feel her flesh being ripped apart, and her warm blood on his skin. "I promised Obito, the one I got my eye from, that I would protect her with my life. Then, I lost your father and mother... I felt what you're feeling now. My mother died when I was young, and my father killed himself." Kakashi had made peace with everything he was telling Naruto, but it didn't make it easier for him to speak about.

"That is fucked up in so many ways." Momo muttered in shock, affectively summing up everyone's thoughts in the near total silence that filled the room.

"That… that poor man… how could… I don't…" Poor Lala couldn't even finish a sentence, continually cutting herself off with hiccups and sniffles as tears poured down her cheeks. Eventually she gave up altogether and just opted to hug her mother's side for support.

Nana and Rito were in no better condition, the former silently balling her eyes out as she hugged Mea, who sympathetically rubbed the petite Pinkette's head, and the latter blew his nose loudly as he scooted a bit closer to Mikan.

Speaking of, Mikan along with Momo and Sephie were only just able to keep themselves together, mostly thanks to them having gotten used to the constant emotional battering. That didn't stop them from showing their sympathy at Kakashi's loss and suffering though, as the queen and youngest princess bowed their heads and the brunette herself muttered a soft prayer.

Lastly, Yami was staring at Kakashi in a new light, the grudging acceptance she'd felt for his skill growing to full respect for his strength and will… even if she hated his choice of reading material.

He was opening up about everything to his student.

A boy who he felt so much guilt over, and... loved like a little brother that they could have been.

"... How did you deal with it all?" Naruto asked, looking at his teacher with curious eyes.

"... I closed off my heart, and I was wrong. I decided to try and abandon anything that reminded me of what I lost." Kakashi wanted to apologize to Naruto personally. Because he closed his own heart, he was never there for Naruto as a kid. A boy that was so much like his mother, and looked like his father. It had, for a long time, been too much for Kakashi to handle. "Don't do what I did Naruto. So many people depend on your smile, and you taught me that opening your heart to others can bring more than just pain. I'm sure that whatever you decide, will be the right choice." Kakashi squeezed his hand on Naruto's shoulder.

'A lesson that many learn the hard way, but one that nobody should have too in the first place.' Sephie thought, sighing softly and resting her chin on Lala's head as she held her daughter protectively.

Naruto frowned and curled his arms around his knees, pulling his chin into them, thinking about what his answer could be.

"What would you do about Sasuke?" Naruto asked quietly, unsure of what Kakashi would say.

"I would kill him. Sasuke isn't the same Sasuke he was before. When he killed Sakura, he cut himself off from his past. Right now, the only way to save the Sasuke you remember, is kill the Sasuke in the present."

"He needs to die." Yami stated while forming a blade with her hair, before Mikan grabbed her hand with a gentle squeeze while shaking her head, making the transforming blonde frown but reluctantly let the blade disperse back into hair.

Kakashi didn't like the way that Naruto flinched. After all, Kakashi knew that Sasuke was one of the few people that Naruto felt a bond with when they were younger, despite them not becoming friends until after they became Genin.

For Naruto, who valued love and friendship, the thought of killing your own friend was like killing apart of himself.

'He shouldn't have to have those thoughts in the first place.' Lala thought with a sniffle while wiping the tears out of her eyes.

"I..."

"I have a nickname... Friend-Killer Kakashi, and it still follows me to this day. Though... if Obito had become like Sasuke... if he had turned to darkness. Then I would be like you are now... unsure of what to do. Sometimes killing a person doesn't have to be done out of anger or hate... I honestly think that I would rather kill my friend, than let them become a heartless monster." Kakashi hoped that Naruto would make the right choice. Based on the way that Naruto was rubbing the tears on his eyes, he was actually considering taking the advice.

Kakashi rubbed the top of Naruto's head.

'Sheesh, this talk couldn't get any heavier.' Momo thought with a grimace…

"... Pa... and Ma... you knew them. What would they say?" Naruto only knew of Kakashi who could tell him anything.

The busty twin facepalmed as a quiet groan escaped her lips. 'Nevermind.'

"Your father would kill Sasuke, without hesitating. Your mother, well... I couldn't say. I can imagine that she would tell you to turn Sasuke into a smear on the ground though. Your mother was a very... scary woman. You have her personality, and her face." Kakashi decided to give that little tidbit of information to Naruto. He saw a small smile appear on Naruto's face, the information on his mother lightening the mood, if only a little bit. "She was actually hailed as Konoha's most beautiful Kunoichi. Even Tsunade admitted it." Kakashi pointed out with pride.

Two pictures of the lovely redheaded woman appeared on screen, one showing her smiling brightly as she rubbed her slightly swollen belly showing she was in her early months of pregnancy, and the other showing her smiling viciously as she cracked her knuckles, her hair seemingly floating in nine distinct bundles as she did so.

"Whoa… she is gorgeous." Mikan said as her eyes widened in surprise.

"No kidding, mom would kill to have her working for her," Rito agreed with a nod, before shivering when he looked at the picture of angry Kushina. "But I see what he meant by scary."

"Not even daddy is that scary when he's mad." Nana agreed with a shiver of her own.

Naruto's reaction was a grin.

"Then I guess I'm pretty handsome..." Naruto frowned after he said that. "... I... told Sasuke that a person who can't save a friend doesn't deserve to be Hokage. If saving Sasuke, means killing him... then I'll also have to give up on becoming Hokage." Naruto looked at the village that he loved so much.

He didn't have to give up his dream, but if he killed Sasuke, then in his own eyes, he was no longer worthy of the title of Hokage.

'Oh come on, seriously?!' Momo demanded mentally at that heart wrenching statement, that once more caused a deluge of tears from the more emotional members of the room, including herself this time. 'I mean come the hell on! This just isn't fair!'

"You-"

"... I always knew that Sasuke and I would have to fight again. I even knew that I might have to kill Sasuke... I'm not afraid of killing Sasuke. I'm willing to die with Sasuke, because I'm not afraid of death... but he killed Sakura. He's not the Sasuke I know anymore... and that scares me..." Naruto whispered as he saw the sun start to set. The sky darkening a little, he had been up on the Fourth's head all day. He was hungry, but he didn't let that get to him too much.

Kakashi listened.

Naruto would die to help a friend, that, he always knew.

"... but..." Kakashi encouraged.

"I'll die for a friend... but... this isn't Sasuke. The Sasuke I knew wouldn't have killed Sakura. I'm scared... because I'm willing to kill him now. I used to be willing to die with him... when he was my friend... but he's not my friend anymore, is he?" Naruto questioned Kakashi, and Kakashi didn't know what the answer was for that. He looked at Naruto, and for the first time, saw the true maturity in Naruto's eyes.

Naruto wasn't afraid of killing Sasuke.

Naruto was afraid that the Sasuke he called a friend... was no longer Sasuke.

"So he's saying that Sasuke has changed from who he was but not literally, correct?" Yami asked Mikan, not quite sure she was understanding the metaphors being said correctly.

"Basically, yeah."

"Only you..." Kakashi whispered for a moment, before he sighed. "... No, he's not... Sasuke was lost in darkness. I lost a large part of my heart when Rin used me to kill herself... and I wasn't lost in darkness. Sasuke killed Sakura, because he wanted to... he doesn't have a heart anymore to save." Kakashi spoke softly to Naruto.

Naruto looked weak, not physically, but emotionally. His face looked drained, tired, and most of all, like he knew what to do.

'I wanna give him a hug.' Lala thought while instinctually starting to reach towards the screen, her kind nature demanding she go and cheer the blonde up even though she knew that she couldn't.

'…Or can I?' Lala wondered as her eyes drifted to the telepad, the gears in her mind turning.

"... I have to kill him. I hope Sakura-chan and Sasuke will forgive me... I won't be able to join them in the afterlife." Naruto spoke with soft determination.

He hated what he decided.

"They'll have a lot of time to work through their issues together. When I died, my dad was waiting for me. I'm sure that even now, Sakura is waiting for Sasuke. You don't have to give up on becoming Hokage... this village, the world, needs a Hokage like you." Kakashi spoke to Naruto seriously. Naruto always had his dream to give him courage and power. "You're not abandoning Sasuke, and Sakura chased down Sasuke when you were... when I put you under a Genjutsu. There was nothing you would have done." Kakashi finished, admitting his own fault.

Friend-Killer Kakashi.

It would seem that his actions were always causing the people around him to die, but he wouldn't allow Naruto to die. He was going to do his best to protect Naruto's heart, and his dream.

'Poor guys… they just wanna help those that they care about.' Rito thought sympathetically as he glanced around the room at the girls, his heart clenching at the thought of something like that happening to any of them.

Naruto nodded.

"I know that... but... it just... hurts. If I had been there, I could have saved Sakura-chan... and could have saved that last bit of light inside of Sasuke... Now, Sakura-chan is dead, and the light in Sasuke's heart is gone... it hurts me to think about it." Naruto placed his hand on his heart.

Yami frowned as she felt a pressure on her chest and looked down as her hair started to turn into knives… only to end up blinking in surprise when she saw her own hand resting directly above her heart.

'What? What am I doing?' The blonde wondered as she pulled the limb away, looking at it in confusion as she turned and flexed it like some foreign entity. After a while though she set it down with a shake of her head and focused back on the screen, deeming the incident unimportant.

The hand was back in its previous space not even ten seconds later.

Kakashi stayed silent.

He didn't know what to say to that.

"You-"

"... I'll decide what I want to do the next time I see Sasuke. When I see his face, I'll listen to my gut. Anyway, sorry for bugging you with this... I'm going to go see if Yami-chan wants to eat ramen together, want to join?" Naruto asked Kakashi as he stood up, and offered his sensei a hand.

"Wait and see, sometimes that's all you really can do in the end." Mea said while Yami and Sephie nodded, all three of them thinking of times during their careers as assassins/ambassador where they couldn't do much else but stand back and see how things developed before they could act.

Kakashi took it and stood up, but he frowned under his mask.

There was it.

Naruto was trying to bottle up his negative emotions again, which was unhealthy in every sense of the word. Naruto needed somebody that he could open up to, somebody that was more than just a friend or a teacher. Somebody who cared about Naruto, and Naruto alone, that could see everything with an unbiased eye, that didn't care about anything but Naruto.

Naruto needed a girlfriend to help him with his emotional baggage.

"Oh yeah, that boy needs some serious loving in his life A.S.A.P." Momo stated with a grin, while Mea, Sephie, Lala, Mikan and even Nana nodded in agreement.

"Totally." "Indeed." "Yes! Give him some love!" "He does need it." "For once we agree sister."

Each of them spoke at once in a jumble of voices, before they all turned towards the one girl that hadn't spoken, Yami.

"…Stop staring at me." Said blonde stated irritably, her eye twitching as she quickly realized what they were all implying.

Which led Kakashi to a question he never thought he would ask himself.

Who could fill that role best?

"I think I know someone who fits the bill." Momo said as the screen went back to buffering, inching over to Yami's side and gently elbowing her side.

"Stop it."

"Oh come on, you want to cheer that goofball back up as much as us, don't you?"

"I am going to stab you again."

"That's not a denial~."

Yami was 'this' close to following through with her threat, her hair already forming into spiked maces, but stopped herself just before the first punch when a familiar spatial tear suddenly appeared in the middle of the room.

And from this tear emerged SKU, his ever-stoic gaze scanning across the room briefly before eventually settling on Rito with his notepad held up.

"Huh? The time has come?" The orange-haired boy mumbled in confusion as he read the note aloud. "What ti-"

Rito froze when SKU suddenly appeared right in front of him with his hand pressed against the clumsy boy's chest, then passing right through like a ghost.

"AAH!" "Rito-kun!" "Rito!" "Bro!" Everyone else in the room exclaimed as they-

"Stay put."

…Did exactly as SKU told them, their bodies and mouths refusing to move even a centimeter as the young-looking king's voice echoed through the room powerfully despite its soft tone.

This in turn meant they could do nothing but watch silently as SKU sank his arm just a bit further into Rito's chest before pulling it back out with a softly glowing sphere of lightly cupped in his grasp. As soon as it was out, Rito fell flat on his back, a dull lifeless look on his face that sent dreadful chills down everyone else's spines.

Meanwhile, looking the soul, because it was no doubt a soul, in his hand over in a seemingly curious manner for a few moments, SKU eventually pulled out an empty glass bottle with his free hand and held it underneath the soul just as he started squeezing it.

*Ptptptptptpt* The silence in the room was broken as a shimmering pink substance dribbled through the white haired boy's fingers and into the vial. Once it was filled to the brim, SKU casually tossed the soul back into Rito's body, causing the clumsy boy to spring back up with a gasp, whilst he capped the bottle, stuck a note onto it, and dropped it into a small portal that popped into existence.

Thank you for your cooperation, I apologize for any discomfort that may have caused you He 'said' to the heaving teen before turning around and marching off, stopping only for a second to poke Momo's boob for some reason before summoning his scythe and cutting open another portal for himself to step through.

"Okay… does anyone have any idea what in the hell was that about?" Momo demanded when the pressure… force… spell… whatever the hell it was that stopped her from moving and speaking wore off, the busty twin idly massaging her breast with a frown as she stared at the empty space that the Necromancer had exited from.

"Not a clue." Sephie admitted with a shrug.

"Me either." Nana added while Yami and Mea just shook their heads negatively.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt? How are you feeling?" Meanwhile, Lala was more focused on making sure Rito was alright, zipping around him in worry as she looked for any signs of injury.

"I think I do," Mikan started as she looked towards her brother in concern and… hope? "Remember the note that guy gave Rito before?"

"Hmmm, oh yeah I almost forgot about that, he said he'd come back… for… no…" Mea started to say, only to trail off as her eyes widened.

"He didn't." Momo muttered quietly, trembling as she came to the same conclusion before both girls turned towards Rito with disbelieving gazes.

"Calm down Lala I'm fine." Said boy groaned out, backing away from the worried princess as she all but smothered him with her concerns.

"Are you sure Rito?" Lala asked, finally easing up a bit when she couldn't see anything wrong at all.

"Yes, I'm sure," Rito said, even holding his arms out and turning side to side to show that he felt fine. "See? I'm totally fiiiiaaaAAA-" *Crash*

""Oh my god he DID!"" Momo and Mea exclaimed when Rito suddenly lost his balance and fell over…

…BUT DIDNT miraculously end up dragging Lala down with him to end up in a compromisingly perverted situation. Instead, the poor boy simply smacked his head into the back wall, knocking himself silly while Lala fussed over his dazed form.

Falling to their knees, both Mea and Momo looked at the scene in disbelief for several moments before throwing their heads towards the sky. ""NOOOOOOOOO!""

-The End-
