If someone had told Petra two years ago that she'd by laying in the same bed as her captain, she would laugh nervously and tell them to shut up before Levi could overhear. She'd push them away quickly, and present a stiff salute as he walked by, while an obvious blush spread across her face to match her hair.

Never in a billion years would she have guessed that she would wake up to bright, warm rays of sunlight that decorated the figure next to her. She never imagined that she would find herself, completely unclothed, yet the farthest thing from vulnerable, next to the raven-haired man she always adored.

Petra yawned and rolled over to throw a bare leg over his waist and loop an arm around his neck. He grunted sleepily in response. She looked up at him with glowing amber eyes, irises tracing the sharp jawline that she had kissed plenty of times before, down to his smooth neck and protruding collarbones. She smiled softly, and reached a finger out to poke his cheek, giggling at how soft he looked for a moment.

His eyes fluttered opened to meet her bright ones. Her strawberry blonde hair spilled along the white pillow as she immediately perked up at the eye contact. He raised an eyebrow, "Are you done?" he asked huskily, his voice laced with sleep. Petra shook her head no.

"You're just so cute when you sleep." she commented, "I can't help it." She poked his cheek again and watching him grab her wrist to kiss her palm before removing it from his face.

"Why, were you watching me?" he laced their fingers together lazily.

"Maybe."

"You're a strange one, Ral." and she laughed.

"You know," her hand fell to his bare chest, drawing lazy circles, "I used to think you were untouchable."

Levi eyed her weirdly. "You're touching me right now, aren't you?"

"That's not what I meant," she lightly hit his chest, "I mean you were so intimidating. I never would have imagined that I'd end up… here."

"In my bed?" he raised an eyebrow. She blushed.

"That, and just with you, I guess," she fumbled for words, trying her best to explain before he brushed it off due to her inability to articulate her ideas properly. "To me, you were almost like some deity that was just untouchable, like some all powerful being. I guess I forgot you were human, too."

"So you put me on a pedestal," he confirmed.

"I suppose so," she shrugged.

"I'm not that great," he quickly negated, "I have many flaws, Petra."

"I know that, you don't have to tell me twice." she grinned, nuzzling closer, "It's just a crazy thought. We've come a long way, huh?"

I love you. It was at the tip of his tongue. But instead, he stared at her, her cheek squished against his muscular shoulder as she drew circles on his chest. You mean everything to me. He thought to himself. Levi wanted so badly to vocalize it, but he couldn't bring himself to form the words right. Instead-

"You smell like shit."

Petra closed her eyes, sighing and smiling to herself. "I love you, too, Levi."
