Hakkaku whipped his brow after he set the final log in place. It was early morning, the sun still rising. The tribe was hurrying around the estate setting up tables and coolers for the celebration. It seemed Ayame did have everything prepared for the mating ceremony. Normally the festivities would have started a week before but with Koga being in the dark the tribe couldn't celebrate like normal. But Ayame made sure everything was prepared and stocked so that no one would be leaving the estate for the next nine days.

"Bonfire looks great."

Hakkaku looked up as Ginta handed him a water bottle. Hakkaku gladly took it and gulped the whole thing down. Ginta giggled as Hakkaku took panting breaths as he crushed the bottle in his hand.

"I hope Ayame hasn't been over working you."

Hakkaku shrugged. "I'm not complaining. The whole tribe has been waiting for this day since the day sis came back into our lives. Ayame could work me to death and I still wouldn't complain."

Ginta giggled again. "You wouldn't but I would. I need you alive."

Hakkaku smirked, his fangs on full display. "You need me huh?"

Ginta blushed slightly as he took a step closer to Hakkaku. He bit his lip with a fang as he took in Hakkaku's naked and sweat covered torso. Ginta couldn't even begin to imagine what his life would be like without the male in front of him. Even before Ginta stopped hiding his feelings, if Hakkaku would have died back then he would have followed shortly after. The world would cease to spin if Hakkaku left this world.

Ginta threaded his fingers with Hakkaku's. "More than the air I breathe."

Hakkaku squeezed Ginta's hand. It was a wonderful feeling, Ginta's skin against his. Hakkaku couldn't deny he wanted so much more than the short moments they held hands or the few moments he got to wrap his arm around Ginta. But he had promised to take things slow. He didn't care how many times he had to fight his beast or go for runs to calm himself. Ginta's love was worth all of the hardships.

"Hakkaku! We could use your help!"

Hakkaku looked over to where the second bonfire had been set up. The males were trying to hold the stack up while another male was adjusting the placement of a log. The whole thing looked like it was going to topple over any second.

"Hang on a sec!" Hakkaku looked back down at Ginta. "I'll come find you when the rest of the bonfires are set up. Promise."

Ginta frowned slightly. "Ok."

Ginta loosened his hold on Hakkaku's fingers but before he could pull away Hakkaku pulled him close and kissed his forehead. Ginta gasped as he was pulled into Hakkaku's arms. Warmth spread through him as Hakkaku's lips made contact with his flesh. Ginta's cheeks grew redder and all too soon Hakkaku pulled away and run over to the other bonfire setup.

Ginta just stood there with wide eyes as he stared into the forest before him. His forehead was tingling where Hakkaku's lips had been and he could feel the heat of his blushed cheeks. A smile spread across his face as he thought about how close they had been. If only they could have had more time.

"Hey Ginta!"

Ginta's head snapped up as Hakkaku called out to him. Ginta could see the group of males were struggling with the pile of logs. There was no way it would stay sturdy at this point. The only reason it still stood was because the logs were being held up by the group.

"Can you go see if Koga is awake? We need his help."

Ginta nodded. "Sure thing!"

Ginta made quick strides to the backdoor but before he could reach it the door opened and out stepped his Alphas. Kagome took a deep inhale through her nose as she attached her arms up over her head. Koga popped both sides of his neck as he inhaled the fresh air.

"Mornin'!"

Kagome smiled at her Beta. "Morning!"

"I was just about to fetch you. The second bonfire is unstable and they could use your help Koga."

Koga looked over at the bonfire site. "Looks like the support log snapped."

Kagome nudged him with an elbow. "Go help. Ginta will keep me company."

Koga kissed Kagome before quickly heading over to the bonfire site. After Koga left them alone Kagome entwined her arm with Ginta's.

"Shall we see what Ayame has been up too?"

Ginta smiled wide. "Absolutely!"

Ginta led Kagome over to the side of the yard where the tables and coolers had been set up. Ayame was covering one of the tables with a black tablecloth as the two approached her.

"Looking good Ayame!"

Ayame looked up at smiled. "Thanks Kagome! How did you sleep?"

Kagome grinned from ear to ear before she grabbed one of Ayame and Ginta's hands. She put their hands on either side of her stomach and put her hands over theirs. Ginta was confused for a moment. The twins weren't big enough for their kicks to be felt. Had Kagome stopped taking that vitamin Rin gave her?

Kagome giggled. "Give them a second."

Ginta looked down at his hand under Kagome's and wondered what she could possibly be wanting to show them. It didn't take long till Ginta felt it. His eyes went wide as he felt the aura of the twins reach out to him. Ayame gasped as she too felt the auras of the twins. They were indeed strong.

"Last night Koga kissed my stomach to tell them goodnight. This is how they responded. Koga slept with his hand on my belly all night."

Ginta smiled as he rubbed his Alphas stomach. "I don't blame him. That was a wonderful thing we just felt."

Ayame hummed in agreement. "Just wait till they start kicking. Koga won't be able to feel them for a while so you will get that all to yourself."

Kagome giggled. "I can't wait."

. . . .

Hakkaku stretched his arms up over his head. After Koga had made it to the bonfire site it was brought to the group's attention that the support log had snapped. They carefully took down a few logs and low and behold the support log had in fact snapped. Lucky they had a few extra already cut down so it was a quick and easy fix. And it didn't take them long to put it back up either.

Hakkaku looked around the yard for Ginta and frown when he didn't see him. He had probably been pulled into doing something by Ayame and was too busy to be waiting for him.

"Ginta is with Kagome."

Hakkaku looked over at his Alpha. Koga was smirking at him with his arms crossed.

"Don't look at me like that. You two haven't been able to be apart since day before yesterday."

Hakkaku chuckled. "I hadn't noticed."

Koga rose a brow. "I doubt that. He never left your side on wedding day. And during and after the mating ceremony he was glued to your side. Yesterday he kept pouting every time you left his side. You can't tell me you didn't notice."

Hakkaku swallowed down the growl that began to make its way out of his throat. Growling at ones Alpha was a death sentence. Hakkaku rather enjoyed being part of the living. Koga was in a good mood but that didn't mean he would tolerate a member of the tribe stepping out of line.

Koga sighed. "You and your beast have been frustrated for months. Taking it slow isn't cutting it anymore. Tell Ginta or I will."

Hakkaku hung his head. "I will not force Ginta to do something he doesn't want."

Kaien came up behind Hakkaku and clapped him on the back. "You need a drink. Or twenty."

The group of males began to laugh as Hakkaku rolled his eyes. But a drink didn't sound too bad.

"What's so funny?"

The group looked up and greeted their Alpha female as she, Ayame and Ginta joined them. Hakkaku smiled as Ginta came up beside him but was quickly surprised as Ginta kissed his cheek. Hakkaku blinked a few times as warmth spread through his body. It was a quick kiss, more of a peck really, but Hakkaku would never complain. Hakkaku smiled as Ginta blushed and looked down at the ground as he entwined their fingers.

"Do we really need this many bonfires?"

Koga chuckled. "With as much space as we have in the yard? Yes."

Kagome giggled as Koga wrapped an arm around her and placed his other hand on her belly. Koga kissed her lips and began to chuckle as he rubbed her stomach.

"I will never tire of this!" Koga exclaimed, getting down on one knee to kiss Kagome's abdomen.

Hakkaku raised a brow. The twin's kicks couldn't be felt yet right? Unless Kagome decided to stop taking that vitamin but he doubted she would. So what had Koga all excited?

"What has Koga in such a good mood?"

Kagome giggled as she turned to greet her mother. "Come here. I don't know if you will be able to feel it but it's worth a try."

Kagome took her mother's hands in hers and placed them on either side of her stomach. It didn't take long for Rei to widen her eyes and smile from ear to ear.

"That is indeed something to be excited about."

"What are you doing mom?" Sota asked.

"Oh! The twins know who their uncle is!"

Sota tilted his head to the side and rose a brow. Kagome grabbed one of his hands and placed it next to their mothers.

"Woah!"

Kagome giggled. "They are very happy you're here."

"Father, come here! You have to feel this."

Grandpa stepped up to Kagome and replaced Rei's hand with his own.

"Is this what I think it is?"

Kagome nodded. "Started feeling this last night. I'm surprised we slept."

Hakkaku scrunched his eyebrows. He couldn't for the life of him figure out what everyone was so excited about. He was pulled from his thought when Ginta started giggling.

"You're adorable when you're confused."

Kagome giggled as she walked over to Hakkaku and placed his hand on her stomach. It took two seconds before Hakkaku felt the aura of the twins reach out to him. It was a beautiful feeling, knowing the twins were strong. And their auras weren't the auras of half demons either.

"Have the twins been showing off their auras?"

Kagome nodded as Ring joined the group and placed her hand beside Hakkaku's. It wasn't long after that that Kagome was pulled away and into a group of tribe females along with Misueke, Nanale and Sango. Hakkaku looked at his hand, still feeling the aura of the twins moving across his skin. That was something he and Ginta would never get to experience. There were plenty of orphans among the four regions so they could adopt. Even in this day in age females died in childbirth, their bodies too weak to stand bring a strong demon into the world. But having one of their own? One that was their flesh and blood?

"Don't worry you two."

Hakkaku and Ginta looked up at Ayame, smiling wide as she stared at the two males.

"All of us females have been talking to Rin. A lot of us have decided to be your surrogates when you want young ones of your own."

. . . .

As the sun set the three bonfires were lit. The celebration had already been in full swing all day but when the moon rose the real party began. Music was blaring and most everyone were on their feet dancing around the fires. Ginta took a sip of his drink as he sat back down on the lawn, having just escorted Rei, Grandpa and Sota out the door. They had only wanted to join for the day and would most likely not be back till the festivities were over.

The young ones were being gathered by the elders and those who hadn't yet reached maturity and ushered inside. Ginta counted heads as they walked through the back door and was pleased that everyone was accounted for. Usually a few young ones would try to hide or would run through the forest just to stay up for a few minutes more. But Kagome was standing by the backdoor to make sure they all got inside.

Ginta looked out at the bonfires and watched his tribe mates dance around. It didn't take long for his eyes to land on Hakkaku. His torso was bare, his mohawk slicked back and he wore shorts. He was barefoot like the rest of the tribe as he stomped and spun around the fires. Ginta began to pant as he watched the male he loved. Hakkaku spun in Ginta's direction and winked as he smiled from ear to ear, his fangs glistening in the light of the fire.

Ginta felt a growl at the back of his throat as his beast tried to come to the surface. He downed the rest of his drink and got up to make his way over to the liquor table. He filled his cup with his favorite whiskey and took a big gulp. His beast was driving him crazy lately. He felt like he was losing control of himself and as his eyes found Hakkaku again he knew all too well why.

"Enjoying the view?"

Ginta looked over as Kagome stepped up beside him. He smiled at his Lady Alpha and then looked back out at the bonfire. He bit his lip as Hakkaku came back into his line of sight.

"Can I confide in you Kagome?"

Kagome smiled at her Beta. "Of course you can my brother. Always."

Ginta looked back at Kagome. "We have been taking it slow because that's what I wanted. But never in the centuries I have been imprinted have I wanted to drag him to bed and jump him more than I do now."

Kagome chuckled. "Let me guess. Seeing him in furs got you thinking dirty?"

Ginta nodded. "It also made me think back to the day we became mature males. It was the first night I rejected him. I have always loved him but now…"

Kagome took one of Ginta's hands in hers and gave it a squeeze. "Now you're truly and deeply in love with him."

"More than he will ever know."

Kagome squeezed his hand again. "Then don't fight your feelings. You want to jump him? Then go do it! You don't have to become his mate right now if you don't want too. Set boundaries, tell him what you want, what you need. He will respect that."

Ginta looked out at Hakkaku as he walked away from the bonfire. His beast was begging to go to Hakkaku. Begging to be tangled up in bed with Hakkaku. Begging to be Hakkaku's mate. And Ginta was done hiding it.

Ginta squeezed Kagome's hand. "Thank you sister."

Kagome hugged Ginta tightly before she walked away from him. After Kagome was a few steps away Ginta turned his attention back to the male he loved and took confident steps in his direction. He was done with taking things slow. Their imprint had been ignored for far too long! Tonight was the night he would throw himself into Hakkaku's arms and become his.

Hakkaku turned as Ginta walked up to him. "There you are! I was wondering where you-"

Hakkaku was taken by surprise when Ginta grabbed the sides of his face and pulled him down to plant a kiss to his lips. Hakkaku was shocked to say the least. He had longed for this moment, for Ginta to let his desires be known, and had feared it would never happen. Yet here he was, Ginta pressed up against his body while their lips were pressed together. It was a dream come true.

Hakkaku nearly didn't respond to the kiss out of shock but when Ginta tried to pull away there was no way Hakkaku could let him. Hakkaku wrapped an arm around Ginta's waist and pulled him back against his chest. Ginta let out a gasp before Hakkaku captured his lips.

Hakkaku poured all of his feelings and passion into that kiss. He wanted Ginta to feel exactly how he felt at this very moment. And when Ginta opened his mouth after Hakkaku slid his tongue across his bottom lip, Hakkaku gladly took the opportunity to taste Ginta's mouth. He had always thought that Ginta would taste sweet and was not disappointed, his taste nearly sending him into a frenzy. And he would be lying if he said he didn't want more.

Ginta wrapped his arms around Hakkaku's neck as the kiss became more demanding. Hakkaku had waited too damn long for this moment. But he had promised that they would take things slow, go at the pace Ginta set. So if this was all Ginta wanted for now then he would comply. He would be damned if Ginta ever ran from him again!

When Hakkaku finally pulled away he couldn't help the smirk that crossed his lips. Ginta's eyes were glazed with desire and he was in a daze. Hakkaku chuckled before kissing Ginta one last time and releasing him from his grasp. Hakkaku was about to take a step back when Ginta grabbed his hand and looked up at him.

"Come upstairs with me?"

Hakkaku's smirk grew wider. "Thought you would never ask."

Ginta intertwined his fingers with Hakkaku's and led him inside the house and up the stairs to his room. The second the door was shut behind them Ginta grabbed either side of Hakkaku's face and captured his lips in a searing kiss. Hakkaku pulled away for a moment, panting as he looked down at the male he loved.

"You don't have to do this Ginta. I will wait till you're ready."

Ginta stared Hakkaku in the eyes as he shed his shirt and removed his belt. "I want you. Fuck it, I need you! I'm sick and tired of running. I want you in my bed NOW!"
