In retrospect staying up all night to finish a project that wasn't due for another month was a bad idea. Sasuke has had worse ones considerably. But none made him this tired. He doesn't like to procrastinate but this was probably overdoing it. He finished the godforsaken project at two in the morning but it took him thirty minutes to drive back home from the library because it was raining hard as shit and the traffic was wild. He was beat once he was able to get inside.

Despite the nagging voice of Itachi in his head telling him to change and go to his bed to sleep, he fell onto his couch and decided to go into a slumber. He ignored the discomfort of his rain soaked clothes and the fact that his shoes were still on and he wasn't wearing any socks. (He was rushing when he left the house okay). He was just about to fall asleep when he heard a knock at the door and groaned. He decided to not move and hopefully they'd leave.

He was up in a second when he heard the faint voice past the door, "...Sasuke?" He nearly fell going to the door and he opened it faster than light. It was 3AM and he wouldn't have opened the door for anyone other than the person who was on his doorstep. His heart shattered at the state Naruto was in. He was drenched from head to toe, wearing his gardening uniform. He was trembling furiously. The rain masked it well, but due to his bloodshot eyes, Sasuke could tell he'd been crying. Without a word he let him in and led him to the bedroom.

He was silent as he got Naruto dry and in clean clothes (Sasuke's old High school debate team hoodie and gray sweats). He wrapped Naruto in his blanket and he almost scoffed at Naruto taking in his scent. Sasuke knew he wouldn't have to ask and that Naruto would eventually talk, and that came sooner than he thought it would.

"Jiraiya is in the hospital." Sasuke furrowed his brows at the words and sat next to him on the bed. "I was at work when I got the call. He apparently put me down as his second emergency contact person," Naruto let out a bitter laugh that made Sasuke's heart pang. "I don't know why, I'm terrible at this shit. He...had a relapse. He looked terrible Sasuke. He was so pale. Paler than you." Sasuke is completely sure that someone being paler than him is possible but Naruto vehemently denies it.

"He could barely breath and his heart beat was going so slow. I'm not a very good grandson," his voice cracked at the end, "I couldn't take it so I left? I'm stupid." Sasuke sighed. Giving Naruto the wrong idea and he narrowed his eyes and looked away, "I'm sorry I came."

"That's not it." He replied automatically. "You know you can come here anytime you want so don't be sorry Dobe. Also, you're a pretty annoying grandson, you never get off that guys case to take care of himself. A relapse isn't a sure thing based off of health, it isn't your fault Naruto." Naruto slumped his shoulders and leaned on Sasuke.

"I know...I just didn't want to burden you coming here."

"Nonsense. You were there for me when Itachi was sick, I'd obviously return the favor." Sasuke wrapped his arm around Naruto's waist and pulled him closer. Sasuke's unspoken words made Naruto smile.

I'll be your shoulder to cry on.

Cute, right? I hope so at least. Reviews please? And be nice to me, my poor heart won't be able to take flames.
