Hello,
After the movie, I had to write another chapter.
Phryne didn't have to think long. She knew the answer. In the past, the answer was always yes. Then she met Jack and gave birth to John and the answer was different now.
"No." was Phryne's short but well-considered answer. She didn't want John to grow up without parents. Phryne was sure that Jack would follow her.
Anastasia hadn't learned much about Jack yet. What he loved or rejected. But she had never met a man who idolized his wife. From one point, Anastasia knew, all men were the same. "Do you trust your husband?" This question was important to Anastasia.
Phryne grinned.
"You want to know if Jack starts an affair and tells me about it." Anastasia felt caught by Phryne and felt that she was losing the upper hand. It couldn't be, not with her. Anastasia closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I will flirt with your husband." said Anastasia. "Before your eyes," and smiled at Phryne.
"Then do it," with this answer Phryne took the wind out of Anastasia's sails. Anastasia's gaze changed. Suddenly she didn't look so friendly anymore."We will see." Anastasia got up and nodded to Phryne. "We'll see each other again, Mrs. Robinson. Believe me."
Anastasia left the house without saying goodbye to anyone.
Being a wife creates envy in other women. Because the men you didn't know are suddenly married.
"Phryne," she heard Jack call from the dining room and stood up.
"What did she want?" Jack asked curiously as Phryne entered the dining room. "She wanted permission for an affair." Jack choked on his coffee while looking up at Phryne. He expected every answer, but not this. What was wrong with Anastasia.
"What!" Said Jack loud and reached for a freshly and ironed serviette.
"It's not about you Jack, it's about me. It's a game with the wife and I am your wife." Jack's anger faded. Phryne said the word wife in one sentence with him.
"It's a childish competition, Jack. I don't intend to hold it." Jack looked surprised at his wife. Phryne was always available for every adventure and every competition. "Yes," Phryne started and looked proudly at Jack. "I can be an adult. Surprised?" Phryne asked. Jack grinned and wanted to reply.
But the kitchen door opened and Dottie stood with John on her arm in the doorway.
"The little man here asks if he can still eat some warm biscuits ." Dot didn't look up. Her eyes belonged to John.
"Yes!"
"No!"
Dot looked up in surprise. After Miss Phryne and the inspector spoke at the same time.
Which answer was correct? Dor felt her nervous stomach. Should she listen to the inspector. After all, he's the man in the house now. But after a moment, Dot had her answer.
"Miss Phryne, can you repeat the correct answer again?"
"Of course Dot," said Phryne, smiling and looking at Jack for a moment. Who shook his head. "John can eat two more warm biscuits. Half of it will be under the table anyway."
"I'm against it!" Jack disagreed loudly and got up. He couldn't go on talking to Phryne when he was sitting. "Warm cookies are not healthy." Dot grinned and looked at John.
"Jack," Phryne looked at him intently. "Everyone knows that these are fairy tales. So that we don't eat all the biscuits. Your mother said that to you too."
Jack sighed.
"He will get a stomach ache." Jack appealed to her mother instinct. Dot felt out of place in this discussion. "John," she said. "We're going to eat warm biscuits." Jack looked at Dot until she disappeared into the kitchen.
"Will you ever show our son limits?"
"John will have many limits and experiences in his life. Some are wonderful, others are repulsive. But Jack, we cannot protect him from it. Let him have these two biscuits."
"Jack took a deep breath. Once again, his bridge collapsed under Phryne's words and he had to agree. A forced grin was on his lips. "Maybe you are right." Jack pulled Phryne into his arms and kissed the top of her head. "How does it feel to wake up as Mrs. Robinson this morning?" Phryne could literally smell Jack's attempt to take over. Jack couldn't suppress his instinct of masculinity.
"Jack," Phryne whispered against his lips. "The question is slowly losing its power."
"Not for me," Jack breathed against her lips and smiled.
"Wasn't it enough last time?"
"No." Said Jack with an kiss and Mr Butler entered the dining room. He saw them both, and left with a grin. Jack looked at the door.
"I think Mr. Butler saw us." Phryne started to smile at his lips.
"Mr Butler has seen other things in this house, Jack." Jack took a deep breath.
"Will you ever tell about it?"
"I dont know."
"Does Miss Williams know about it?" Jack asked. Phryne grinned as she remembered Dot. When she found out what happened in this house.
"Yes," Phryne grinned. "At some point, poor Dot knew what was going on. Do you remember my fan dance? Around this time." Jack smiled. He had to think of Hugh's reaction during the fan dance. He was shocked for a while after that.
"You know," said Jack with a kiss. "Hugh was not the same after your dance. I think from that moment on, he saw you with different eyes."
"No," Phryne said with a seductive smile. Took Jack's hand and both left the dining room. "Poor Hugh just grew up."
