Sam couldn't quite believe he'd managed to talk Dean into playing tennis with him down at the local sports centre, but he was going to make the most of his achievement and enjoy the occasion.

So far during their game, Dean had matched him respectably, charging all around the court and returning Sam's serves quite effectively, even if his inelegant efforts were more based around manic arm-waving energy than technique.

But Sam hadn't stretched out his long limbs yet. It was time to start testing his brother and showing what he was capable of. So, with that in mind so he slammed a rocketing shot to Dean's left side. His first ace of the afternoon, he had no doubt.

He couldn't have foreseen in that split second as Dean spun round and stepped right in front of it. Sam winced at the hollow thud as the shot hit Dean square in the breadbasket, and he watched helplessly as Dean folded around it, dropping bonelessly to his knees.

Sam dashed across to him, "Oh heck, Dean – you okay? I'm sorry, I never meant to hit you," he gasped.

Dean looked up at Sam through watery bugged-out eyes.

"New balls please," he croaked.
