A/N: This is basically my version of a headcanon where Percy gets scared because Annabeth was too still in her sleep. Inspired by pjoheadcanonssstk on tumblr.

Percy and Annabeth had gotten into the habit of cuddling while they slept. Normally, this was against the camp rules, but after Tartarus the pair couldn't stand to be separated for more than a few hours before one of them had a panic attack.

Chiron was reluctant to let Annabeth move into Percy's cabin at first, but after a couple weeks of them practically waking up the entire camp with their screams, he decided it was probably for the best. And because of everything they went through in Tartarus, no one at camp, not even the Aphrodite kids, bothered them about it.

Annabeth was always a bit of a restless sleeper, thinking too much in her sleep. Percy had gotten quite used to this.

One night, Annabeth wasn't moving around like her usual self. Percy began to grow worried. "She always moves around…" "Why is she so still?" "Maybe she's just tired?" All these thoughts running through his head as he tried to reassure himself.

It didn't work.

He grew more and more worried as he worked himself up. "He couldn't lose her, not after everything they'd been through!" His thoughts grew frantic.

"They were supposed to start a life together in New Rome!" he reminded himself. "And- Gah!"

"Breathe." he told himself.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He began shaking her shoulder lightly in an attempt to wake her from her too still sleep.

"Annabeth." He whispered to her softly.

No response.

"Annabeth?" He called to her, a bit louder this time.

Still nothing.

"Annabeth!" At this point he's freaking out, shaking her shoulder hoping to gain a response.

"What seaweed brain?" Annabeth mumbled to him.

"Oh thank gods!" he sighed in relief. "Annabeth, I'm so sorry! I'm just so used to you moving in your sleep, and you weren't moving and I got really scared." he rambled on. "After Tartarus, I just can't bear the thought of losing you." Percy started to break down into soft sobs.

Annabeth hugged him and whispered comforting words to him.

"Its ok Percy. Everything is alright," she assured him, hugging him tightly. "I'm here with you, and we're safe." she reminded him, rubbing soothing circles up and down his back. "I love you" she whispered peppering loving kisses along his jawline.

Percy drew in a shaky breath, his jaw quivering, "I love you too, wise girl." he placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

They both soon drifted into a dreamless sleep, tangled in eachothers arms.
