Ariel was strolling down the cobblestone path of their kingdom's town, but she noticed something quite different. Oddly enough, everyone was speaking in French, and almost everyone she saw were people she had never seen before.
Wondering what was going on, Ariel gently tapped the first person she saw on the shoulder. As the figure turned around, she asked, "Excuse me, but where exactly am I? Ariel and Eric's kingdom, right?"
The short, older man with crooked teeth laughed heartily and replied, "Yer majesty, ya mean ye and yer husband, Adam! Quit playin aroun'!" The man continued laughing to himself, turning from the redhead and continuing on her way.
Perplexed, Ariel decided to go to the beach. Maybe there she could figure out what was going on. Adam? What did the man mean, Adam? Adam and Belle ruled their own kingdom!
Ariel breathed a sigh of relief when she reached the beach. She noticed a golden tail disappear into the water and gasped in recognition. It must be one of her sisters! She waved to the mermaid, cupping her mouth and calling, "Helloooo! It's Ariel!"
The golden-tailed mermaid popped up out of the water and looked briefly at the princess before diving back under, swimming towards Ariel. When the smiling mermaid popped out of the water, revealing that it was Belle, Ariel stared at her speechlessly, completely confused. She shook her head and stuttered, "B-Belle? But why aren't you with Adam? And where's Eric? Why are you a mermaid?" Ariel was rambling, trying to make sense of what was going on.
Belle giggled, covering her mouth politely as she smiled at Ariel giddily. "What are you talking about, miss? You're married to Prince Adam! And if you mean Prince Eric.." Her voice became dreamy, and she sighed, leaning her chin on her hand as she gazed at the castle, her golden tail lifting out of the water. "He's so romantic, isn't he?"
Growing angry and jealous, Ariel was about to respond. However, as soon as she opened her mouth, everything disappeared. The princess woke up from her dream, looking around her dark bedroom with Eric sleeping quietly by her side. It had only been a dream.
