Being Truthful

Characters: Pepper Potts, Peter Parker, Tony Stark, Happy Hogan

Rating: T

Sitting in the park with her eyes looking up at the clear blue sky Pepper Potts sighed. Pulling her eyes away from the sky she looked further down the path to see Tony surrounded by the press. With the cameras flashing and the camcorders rolling she would normally be by his side giving him support but this time she couldn't. Maybe it was the flashing cameras or even the abundant amount of questions. Shaking her head Pepper's eyes went back to the sky, whatever it maybe she just couldn't handle the press today.

It was times like this she wish they were invisible. Every since he came out as Iron Man the press has been stuck to them like glue. They even had an increase in stalkers which made living with Tony more dangerous then before. Before all of this she could handle the press but now a days its has gotten way out of control. Another sigh escaped Pepper's lips as she closed her eyes maybe this is what burn out feels like.

"...Bad day Ms. Potts?" A voice asked.

Opening her eyes Pepper looked to see Tony's protege Peter Parker looking back at her. His eyes held such innocents in them. She was glad he didn't tell the world his secret for his life would be just as chaotic as theirs.

"You can say that, the press has found us yet again." Pepper replied.

"You sound tired.." Peter said.

"I am...in fact I think I am tired of all of it. The flashing cameras, the countless questions, stalkers...I." Pepper said before biting her lip.

Seeing her look away Peter caught a glimpse of Ms. Potts close to tears as she balled up her fists. He wanted to reach out and comfort her, but he decided to do something else instead.

"You should tell Mr. Stark." Peter said.

"..No I couldn't do that...I just need to plaster a smile on my face and deal with it like I have always done."

"I think you should, isn't all relationships based on being truthful? I mean if you stay like this it will only get worse." Peter said.

Pepper look back to Peter, he is truly wise for his age. But how would Tony react? at least she would feel better getting rid of all of this pent up anger. Sighing she rubbed her temples.

"Oh no did I say something wrong?" Peter asked.

"No.. you said exactly what I needed to hear." Pepper said followed with a smile.

Rising to her feet Pepper raised her hands to the sky giving her body a stretch. She looked back to Peter who stood up as well. With a smile still spread across her face she gave him a nod before walking back over to where she needed to be.

Keeping her head tall Pepper walked over toward the flashing cameras and loud reporters that were crawling over top of each other to get a picture of Tony. Now that she was by his side they were fighting to get pictures of her too.

Wrapping her hand around his waist Pepper laid a kiss on Tony's cheek which caused him to look at her.

"Is everything okay?" Tony asked.

"It is now, but after this we need to talk." Pepper said smiling.

"Nothing bad I hope." Tony said.

"No... I just think I need to start being more truthful with you."Pepper replied.

Standing there Peter smiled he was about to walk away when he noticed Happy standing right beside him.

"Thanks kid." Happy said.

"For what all I did was talk to her." Peter said

"Yeah...but that's what she needed ….she's been distant lately but I think that is all about to change." Happy replied.

Giving him a pat on the back Happy nodded and headed over to join Tony and Pepper.

Peter smiled as he continued walking through the park. It brought him joy that he could help someone. For he stood by his words being truthful is the key to being happy.
