Hi! I'm sorry if aspects of this chapter seem a little rushed, I just have a specific calendar for when things happen in this story and wasn't interested in drawing out the wedding. I hope you guys enjoy it though!

"Hey Tony… I'm back from Wakanda. Can we talk?"

Tony sighs and his arms drops from where it was resting around Pepper's waist. "Yeah. We can."

"We'll be in our rooms, come find us when you're done." Pepper kisses his cheek, before her and Peter head down the hallway.

He steps closer to where the super soldier is perched awkwardly on the edge of the couch. "Hey, Barnes. How has Wakanda been?"

"It's been… good. T'challa said he thinks they got rid of all my previous programming, so I'm not the Winter Soldier anymore."

"That's really great." Tony awkwardly fiddled with his watch. "Why did you come here? Why not go to the compound?"

"I was hoping you could help me out." Bucky looked down at his dirty, beat up combat boots and moved them further away from Tony's light grey couch. "My arm's hurting, pretty bad. I didn't want to bother Shuri anymore than I already had, so I thought I could make do with my old one, but… Anyway, I don't really know who else to go to."

Tony looked up at the man in front of him and could clearly see how worn down he was. He wasn't dirty or frazzled, as he had just come from Wakanda, but he seemed… tired. He had deep bags under his eyes, the skin around his metal arm was red and rubbed raw from the looks of it, and his shoulders sagged.

"Yeah, I can see that. Let's head down to my lab."

"Thank you."

Tony headed into the elevator and Bucky shuffled in behind him. When they got down to the lab, Tony sat down on a stool and gestured for the other man to sit in the one across from him.

Unsure of what to do, Tony gestured to the arm and asked, "Do you mind if I…?"

"No, go ahead." Tony gently laid his hands on Bucky's metallic arm, causing the soldier to tense. He started to ramble, seemingly to take his mind off the situation. "While we're here, do you think we could talk about what happened in Siberia?" Tony froze, causing Barnes to immediately explain. "I just… thought we should talk some stuff out now, without all the other Avengers' opinions getting in the way."

Tony realized what he was trying to do, so he told him, "I appreciate that."

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry I killed your parents, even though I hope you know that if I had any control over the situation, I wouldn't have done it. And I'm sorry we fought you there." He seemed genuinely remorseful, making the last of Tony's lingering bitterness fade away. Was he still upset about what happened? Of course. But none of that translated to hatred or blame towards Bucky. He figured he should tell the soldier as much.

"I know it wasn't your fault. Now after the fact, I can come to logical conclusions and realize and accept that it wasn't you, it was HYDRA. So, I'm sorry I let my emotions cloud my judgement and that I lashed out at you. You can understand it wasn't personal, right?"

Bucky sighed with relief. "Yeah, of course."

"Good. I'm glad we can clear that up." Tony scooted back in his rolling chair towards his desk and jotted a few things down on a spare piece of notebook paper. "It shouldn't take me too long to build you a new arm. I can work on it tomorrow, have it done by tomorrow night, and then we can head up to the compound the next day. How does that sound?"

"That sounds great. Thank you."

"Yeah, it's no problem." He stood up and dusted off his jeans. "Do you want me to show you to a guest room?"

Bucky waved him off. "Oh, I can just stay at a nearby motel-"

"Nonsense. Come on." They climbed back into the elevator and Tony took him up to the common area. "This is the Avengers floor, so there's a fully stocked kitchen right over there. At the end of the hallway to the right is the guest room."

"Okay, thank you."

"I'll be two floors up if you need anything."

He entered his room a few minutes later to see Peter curled up in a big armchair and Pepper lying in bed as they both watched a movie.

"Hi." He told them, flopping onto the bed.

"Hi. What happened?" Pepper asked, moving over to rub his back.

"We talked things out and I told him I'd build him a new arm."

Her eyebrows raised. "Oh. Okay."

"Yeah, I'm surprised too." He lifted his head up to look at the TV. "What are you guys watching?"

"Baby Driver." Peter answered.

"Without me? Traitor."

Peter shrugged, not seeming remorseful at all. "It's only like twenty minutes in, you haven't missed much."

Seeing them both comfortable in their pajamas, he disappeared into the bathroom, emerging moments later in an old pair of sweatpants. He crawled under the covers next to Pepper before trying to watch the movie. He glanced over at the teenager off to the side and rolled his eyes.

"You can sit on the bed, kid."

Peter looked at him with wide eyes. "No, I don't want to impose on you guys or anything. In fact, you guys just got engaged! I'm going to go and give you some alone time, so-" He started to stand and head out before he was cut off.

"Peter." Surprisingly, it was Pepper who finally interrupted the rambling kid. "We have our entire lives to get alone time. Come watch the movie with us."

"Okay." He said in a small voice, wrapping the blanket around himself and climbing into the bed on the other side of Tony.

The next day, as they were eating breakfast, Tony talked to Peter about his plans.

"I'm going to work on Barnes' arm with me, do you want to come help?" Tony offered, causing the kid's eyes to light up.

"Yeah, sure!"

They headed down to the lab, where Bucky joined them minutes later.

"Uh… hi." Bucky seemed startled to see him there.

Peter waved at him. "Hi Mr. Bucky Barnes sir."

Bucky still seemed confused and Tony finally caught on to the problem. "Oh! Barnes! This is Peter. He's my kid."

His eyes widened and his eyebrows raised. "You have a kid? Since when?"

"I adopted him about 5 months ago."

"Oh." He glanced between the two of them. "How did you two know each other?"

Peter figured since all the other Avengers knew his identity, it didn't really matter if he told Bucky. "I'm Spider-Man."

Bucky's eyebrows raised. "You're Spider-Man? But you're like… eight."

"I'm sixteen." He frowned.

"He's more like a Spider-Boy." Tony laughed.

"I can't believe I got beat by a literal child." He muttered to himself, before sitting on to the stool in front of Tony.

"Don't feel bad, the kid's pretty impressive." Tony said, giving him a smile.

It took a few hours of designing, tinkering, and construction, but the arm was finally done. It helped that he could base it off the Iron Man armor, but obviously smaller, denser, and suitable to nerves. It also helped that he had the preexisting arm and Vibranium for the project. It was very well done if he did say so himself.

"Here you go! Try it on!" He held it out to Barnes proudly.

"This fits perfectly. I honestly don't know how you do it." He tightened his hand into a fist before flexing it to see how he needs to adjust.

"It was nothing." Tony shrugged off the compliment. "So, will you be ready to head upstate by tomorrow."

"Yes."

"Okay then. Peter, lets head downstairs and get packing." Tony headed towards the elevator with Peter trailing close behind.

The younger boy waved as he got in the elevator. "Bye Mr. Barnes!"

"You can call me Bucky." The soldier smiled as the pair headed upstairs.

As Pepper and Tony began to pack for their trip, Tony decided to ask her the question that's been nagging him for the last few hours.

"So, we're heading up to the compound tomorrow…" Tony trailed off.

"Yes…" Pepper continued.

"Do you want to tell them about our engagement?"

"Do you?" She has known Tony for over ten years, she can pretty much read him like a book at this point. "We can tell them."

"Okay, cool." Seeing the small smile on his face, she knew she guessed right. "I'm having Happy come pick us up at nine so we can get there by lunch time. Is that okay? Oh, I also need to remember to call Peter's school and tell them he won't be there on Monday or Tuesday. And the car needs gas."

"Yeah, that all works. You don't need to stress about it. Now come to bed, you'll need lots of sleep to prepare for the next two days."

"Okay, okay."

After a good night's sleep, a long drive, and a lot of hassle, the four of them found themselves in the entry of the compound.

"Hey! We're here!" Tony called out.

"Hi Pepper, hi Peter." Natasha said, appearing seemingly out of nowhere.

"Rude." Tony muttered.

"What brings you guys here?" Steve said with a smile, coming down the steps.

"Well we have an announcement for later, but we also brought a nice surprise for Cap."

"Oh?" Steve asked, confused.

"Hi, punk." Bucky said, coming out from behind them.

"Buck." Steve breathed out, before going over to hug his childhood best friend.

"Yeah all fitted with a new arm and everything." Tony joked, taking off his sunglasses.

"I'll explain later." Bucky told the captain.

"Well, now that everyone is here, we can have a party!" Clint joked, joining them as well.

"Who wants to play soccer or something! I just had to sit in the car for like an hour and a half, I'm so bored." Peter jokingly whined.

"I'll play." Natasha shrugged.

"Me too." Clint agreed.

"Sure."

So pretty soon after, they found themselves outside. It was early November, so the weather was a bit chill, but not freezing. It also was slightly overcast, so it was the perfect weather to be outside. Pepper and Tony sat on the sidelines of their makeshift soccer field, while Bruce was the referee. Peter split up the teams, so it was him, Steve, and Bucky on one team, with Natasha and Clint on the other.

"These teams seem unfair." Clint complained.

Peter simply shrugged. "With all due respect, it sucks to suck."

"Ready…" They all got into position. "Go!" Bruce called, blowing the whistle.

Peter immediately got the ball, pushed past Natasha, and immediately scored a goal on Clint.

"Tony! Did you see that!" Peter yelled, jumping up and down.

"I did! Great job, kid!" He cheered, giving the kid a thumbs up, making him beam.

"You just adore him." Pepper muttered from her seat next to him.

"Shut up."

Pepper gave him a knowing smile. "Who thought I'd live to see the day that Tony Stark is totally parental."

"It's been months Pepper." Tony groaned.

"And I'm still not used to it."

They continued to play for a while, until they thought it seemed time for dinner. Steve made hamburgers, much to everyone's approval, and they sat down at a big table to eat.

"Okay, so what's this big announcement you guys wanted to tell us?" Natasha asked a few minutes in.

Tony cleared his throat and began. "So the big news is… Pepper and I are engaged!"

"No way!"

"Congratulations!"

Pepper beamed. "Thank you. We haven't planned anything yet, this is still new, but rest assured you will all be invited to the wedding."

"What a relief." Clint grinned.

On the car trip home, they began to start their wedding plans. Pepper was very eager to get the ball rolling, and Tony was more than happy to oblige. They started talking about seasons and locations, but it was all very loose plans. That is, until Pepper brought up an interesting point.

"I've always wanted to have a fall wedding, should we just plan this fast and do it this month?"

Tony turned to quickly look at her. "Are you serious? This is so unlike you."

She shrugged. "I'm a very good planner and we have lots of connections. Also, you're a famous billionaire. We can totally do this. If you want to, that is."

Tony gave her a big, cheeky smile. "The only thing that matters to me is that I get to marry you."

"Let's get started!"

And get started they did. Pepper had so many ideas after only a few days of looking into things. Normally weddings take months, even years to plan, but not for her. Not only did she already have ideas (her and Tony had been dating for a really long time, she had already started preparing), but also, she had a famous husband. She preferred not to spend money on frivolous things, but if an extra thousand dollars led to people willing to decorate their whole venue on such short notice, then why shouldn't she? Because of the cheap venue and lack of a band, they already had extra room in their budget anyway. She already had a binder for it, to Tony's amusement.

A few days after the two of them had figured things out, they decided to include Peter in the process. The hard stuff was over, all that was left was the fun things like the guest list, the food, and the attire.

They called the teenager into the kitchen and filled him in as soon as he got back from school that Friday.

"So, Peter. Here is the wedding binder we have so far. What are your thoughts?" Pepper slid her binder across the table.

Peter gaped as he flipped through the pages. "This is huge! You did this all in a week?"

"Four days actually." Tony corrected.

"This looks really good. Amazing, actually."

"We're glad you think so. We want you involved in the process." Tony informed him.

"Really?"

They laughed. "Yeah of course! First stop is to find a caterer, then cake testing."

"Yes! Cake testing!"

"We knew you'd be excited."

So later that day, they went food tasting. Only three caterers could do the wedding on such short notice, so they didn't have much to choose from. Despite the limited choices, there was clearly a really good company that they felt comfortable choosing as their caterer.

After that they moved on to the cake tasting, much to Peter's excitement. The cake shop was bright white, very clean, and smelled strongly of icing. The three of them were immediately ushered to the side, as to not draw attention to them. They were served four types of cake – a stereotypical white wedding cake, a dark chocolate, a lemon, and a red velvet. The red velvet dyed Peter's mouth red, much to everyone's amusement.

"I definitely like the white wedding cake." Pepper said, after they finished.

"But the chocolate…" Tony trailed off, before turning to the kid. "Okay Peter, you're the deciding vote."

He looks between them hesitantly. "Tony is my legal guardian, so this feels unfair."

"Well we're getting married so I'm close enough, which balances it out." Pepper reminds him, jokingly.

"That's true… sorry Tony, I'm siding with Pepper on this one."

"Traitor." He muttered.

As they left, they started talking about their plans for the next couple days.

"Tomorrow we're suit shopping. Are you okay with that?" Tony informed him.

Peter's eyebrows furrowed. "But I already have a suit?"

"Yeah but you need a new one to match the other groomsmen."

Peter's eyebrows raised and his eyes widened. "I'm a groomsman?"

"Yeah of course?" Tony seemed confused by his surprise.

"Awesome." He smiled to himself.

The next day, Peter and Tony headed to the suit shop, as promised. It was a few blocks away from the tower, and pretty well known. Apparently, that is where Tony has gotten most of his previous suits, so he knows them and their reliable. It seemed like the perfect place.

The place smelled of old oak and cold air conditioning. There were various chairs and couches spread out around the room and it was lined with suits and jackets of virtually every color and style. Peter turned to look at Tony, who had taken off his sunglasses and had a small smile on his face. He went over and greeted the staff, also introducing them to Peter. After that, they wandered over to one side of the room. Peter took a seat on one of the chairs, while Tony immediately got started. He wanted to help, but he knew nothing about this, so he wasn't sure how useful he would be.

"Who else is coming?" Peter asked, fiddling with the hem of his sweatshirt.

"Rhodey and Happy." Tony was currently browsing through suit jackets on the racks behind him.

Peter turned around in the chair to look at him. "What are we wearing?"

"Just a black suit. Do you think that'll look good?"

Tony seemed a bit unsure, so Peter was quick to reassure him. "Yeah, definitely."

At that moment, the two other groomsmen entered the store, chatting to each other. When they saw Tony and Peter, they broke into huge grins.

"I can't believe you're finally getting married." Happy said patting Tony on the back.

"It's been long enough." Rhodey joked behind him.

"Shut up." Tony told them with no real anger.

They browsed for a while, trying to find a style they like, until Tony pulled out a crisp black suit set that was form fitting but not too tight. They all mutually agreed on it, so they went their separate ways to get fitted. After an hour or so, they all returned from their dressing rooms, while attendants left to modify their suits.

"Okay is everything all planned and set?" Peter asked, pulling back on his sweatshirt.

"Yep." Tony said with a grin, sliding back on his sunglasses.

"I can't believe you pulled this off." Rhodey shook his head.

"Me neither honestly." Tony laughed as he headed up to the counter to pay.

"When is the actually wedding?" Peter asked, popping up behind him.

"Two weeks from tomorrow."
