CHAPTER ONE:
AGRESTIAN NIGHTS
It was the light in his dream that awakened Wayzz.
That, and the very peculiar feeling in his little green gut that something terrible was about to happen.
The turtle kwami flew out of his bed, which was made out of an old matchbox, and flew through the air faster than a tiny gnat.
The mountain shrine where he and Master Fu had decided to settle in was much smaller and cozier compared to their previous imprisonment in the Miraculous Temple. With its large, white walls, red wooden frames, and sliding screen doors, it was the perfect place to call home.
It was also the perfect place to hide a certain dangerous artefact.
Wayzz flew through the lantern-lit hallway until he found the old man right where he had left him: meditating by the pond in the outdoor courtyard. Fireflies fluttered along the water, and crickets chattered sweetly in the tall grass.
The peaceful scenery was broken by Wayzz's hasty arrival.
"Master! Master!" the little turtle cried in his small, aged voice. He hovered over the Great Guardian's head in an attempt to get his attention.
Master Fu had his eyes closed, but his ears were working just fine. He smiled and raised a hand. "No need to shout, Wayzz," he answered calmly. "I heard you coming long before you woke up."
Wayzz sighed with a frown. It was always in the Great Guardian's nature to predict things that were about to happen, and then make fun of them afterwards. But this was not the time to be humorous.
"Then I presume you know what awakened me," Wayzz said.
Master Fu opened his eyes – brown like the smooth wood of his cane. "Bad dream?" he suggested.
"You need to ask?"
"Oh, come now, Wayzz," Master Fu sighed as he slowly stood up. "I only saw that you would come to me with urgent news. I cannot see what lies within dreams." He chuckled. "And they say I'm the master of all knowledge in the universe. Now tell me: what is troubling you?"
Wayzz took a deep breath before beginning: "It's the vault, Master."
That caused the Great Guardian's grey eyebrows to crinkle with concern. "What did you see?" he whispered, as if he thought the crickets were listening in.
"Well, the vault, obviously," Wayzz replied dryly, "but it's what's inside it that I'm worried about. I saw an orange light, and then... Master!"
The kwami reeled back when Master Fu's green bracelet started glowing.
The old man stared down at it for a long minute before his eyes flared with distress.
Wayzz had good cause to worry too. That bracelet only glowed bright-green whenever a strong presence of magic was close by.
And on a high mountain peak on the edge of the desert kingdom of Agreste, there was only one other magical entity aside from the Great Guardian and his kwami.
"I'm beginning to think your dream was more than just a dream, Wayzz," Master Fu said seriously. "Quickly – to the vault!"
Both master and kwami hastened back inside the shrine to the room in the east wing, which was sealed by a heavy wooden door instead of a screen. The moment Master Fu and Wayzz approached the door, the bracelet burned brighter. The pair eyed exchanged a puzzled, fretful glance. Then Master Fu waved his hand.
The door inched open with a groaning creak... and the light of a thousand sunsets burst through the open threshold.
"Ah!" Master Fu cried out, shielding his eyes with his arm. "What's happening?!"
Thankfully, Wayzz wasn't as sensitive to magic as humans were. His green-and-yellow eyes could make out a tiny shape emerging within the light: a shape with tuffs for ears and a long bushy tail.
The kwami gasped. "Oh no! It's...!"
The orange light flashed one last time before it dissipated, and the furry little figure stretched out its mini arms and legs with a loud yawn.
Wait a minute. That was...
"Phew! Agh! Ah!" the orange-and-white fox kwami moaned dramatically. "Finally! You have no idea how crammed it is in there." She sniffed at herself and let out a loud, "BLEH! I smell like a sweaty sock!"
"Trixx?" Master Fu and Wayzz exclaimed in unison.
The fox kwami blinked her violet eyes in surprise before realizing she wasn't alone in the room. She looked over at the Great Guardian and his kwami with a vacant expression.
Then Trixx let out an awkward laugh and gave a tiny wave. "Uh... hehe... Hey, guys! How's it going?" she offered. "I was just uh, you know... Going out for a little stretch. Yeah! Some fresh air and sunshine, you know what I mean?"
But Wayzz was paying more attention to what lay beneath Trixx: the open, hexagonal black box sitting on the pedestal in the centre of the room. Inside the mundane box was a glistening, citrine jewel carved in the shape of a fox's tail: the Miraculous amulet.
An amulet that no human on this good earth should ever wear, if they knew of the terror trapped inside it.
Master Fu immediately went on the offensive and raised his hand at Trixx. A ball of green light appeared in his palm.
Trixx finally dropped the innocent charade and her face darkened. "Aw, forget it – I'm out of here!" she stated as she snatched up the Miraculous by its chain and took flight.
The Great Guardian's immobilization spell struck. It missed and hit the pedestal instead.
Wayzz, meanwhile, zoomed after Trixx.
Within seconds, the pair of them were whirling around the room in ribbons of green and orange light. Other artefacts hung along the walls or stood in their own separate pedestals. The kwamis' high-speed chase caused them to swerve and crash into several of these treasures, which toppled over and broke upon the wooden floor.
Then, in the blink of an eye, both kwamis fazed straight through the left wall.
They both emerged in the courtyard, flying in and around the pond. Master Fu burst out of the artefact room and raced after them as fast as his hunched form would allow him.
Trixx glanced over her shoulder hysterically as she flew. "Hey! Watch it, watch it, watch it, watch it, you dumb turtle!" she panted as she dodged his attempted tackles.
"Give back that amulet!" Wayzz shouted. "It doesn't belong to you!"
All the while, Master Fu kept trying to catch Trixx with an incarceration spell. Swinging green ropes flew everywhere, but the annoying little fox was too fast and too clever to allow herself to be captured.
Then, a dark grin appeared on Trixx's face.
Before Wayzz could react, she flipped backwards and curled her tail around the turtle kwami's eyes.
Wayzz cried out as Trixx steered him in the direction of Master Fu.
Then, like a string to a spinning top, Trixx yanked her tail back and sent Wayzz spinning out of control into the Great Guardian's head.
Master Fu let out a perplexed "Ooh!" and toppled over onto his sore back with a grunt.
Wayzz landed on his master's chest, his green eyes doing loop-de-loops. Miniature, imaginary Trixxs flew in a circle around his bulbous head.
Trixx let out a cackling laugh. "Well, I can't do any more damage in this popsicle stand," she called with a tiny wave. "Buh-bye, you two lazy, old coots – I'm... out of here!" With that, she turned tail and sped off like a shooting star into the starlit night, taking the amulet with her. Her distant call of "Yeah-ha!" echoed throughout the mountain pass.
Master Fu eased himself back onto his feet, watching the fox kwami's tiny form shrink into nothing but a small speck. His face remained impassive, but his brown eyes were riddled with guilt and dread.
Wayzz eventually came to, rubbing his sore forehead before hovering onto his master's shoulder. He looked just as hurt and anxious as the Great Guardian. "How did she manage to escape from the Miraculous? On her own accord?"
Master Fu hummed and stroked the thin, grey beard on his chin. "I'm not exactly sure," he replied coolly, "but I think we should be thankful that Trixx was the only kwami to come out of that amulet. For now."
Wayzz shivered. "What are going to do, Master?" he asked.
For a moment, Master Fu didn't respond. The only thing that spoke was the shrill wind that blew in towards them, turning his old bones cold.
"If that amulet falls into anyone's hands..." the Great Guardian murmured. He hung his head down... and then looked back up into the open expanse with a firm expression. "Get my camel ready, Wayzz. I'll join you shortly."
"Of course, Master," Wayzz said, rubbing his little hands together. "Are we going after Trixx?"
Master Fu shook his head, and he continued to stare up at the stars as though they were holding out the answer for him.
"No, my friend – we're going to Agreste."

MIRACULADDIN 2:
THE RETURN OF THE FOX
MB: I never thought I would actually do a sequel to my first Fanfic "Miraculaddin". But after I saw Rena Rouge's debut on Miraculous, I was like "Yes! I want to use her in the story!" So it all eventually came together, and we were are!
This is a crossover of the French cartoon Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (which I don't own) and the Disney film The Return of Jafar (which I also don't own). It will focus mainly on Alya and Trixx/Rena Rouge, but there will also be lots of Marinette, Adrien and Nino moments as well. And don't worry, all you Marichat, Ladrien, Adrienette and Ladynoir lovers, the romance will keep on going. DJWifi will be included as well.
So, without further adieu...
