"Ooww!" The blond girl whined, and her companion merely sighed.

"Becky, will you cut that out?!" The dark haired one, Gwen, asked. "I'm sick of hearing you squeal like a pig!"

"But it's pulling my pony tail!" She said, her voice wavering.

"Yea, it's pulling my hair too! But I'm not squealing like a pig!" She said.

They'd been stuck on the roof of the bus long after it got to the school, and long after class had surely begun. Becky had long abandoned any hope of passing her test- she hadn't had much to begin with- and was resigned to failing that class. Gwen had been terrified the entire ride to school that somebody would look up her skirt, though thankfully nobody did. When the bus had pulled in and the kids had piled out, they had hoped that at least the bus driver would help pull them down, but the driver had been well known for being cruel, and simply left them there to hang.

It didn't help that every other student had all laughed and pointed at them. It made a strange feeling twist wildly in Becky's stomach, and a cold regret settle in Gwen's mind. Was this what it was like when they pulled pranks on others? They hadn't meant to be that mean!

It was only when, hours later, did the dismissal bell ring and somebody came for them.

And to their surprise, it was Dexter.

It was a surprise for a number of reasons, the first one being was that he was the first one on the bus. Anybody who had ever heard of Dexter new he stayed late and talked to the teachers- so late in fact that all the busses left and he walked home.

So why on earth...?

"Oh, wow. I really though somebody would have pulled you guys down by now." He said, looking up at them. "it's a good thing I came just in case to check, then!" He pulled out a pen from his pocket and quickly zapped away the gum holding their heads to the roof. They fell simultaneously with a soft thud, and Becky almost cried when her hair was set free.

They both looked at him with wonder.

"See, I thought something was up when Becky wasn't in class, and I was right! As always. Ha ha! Also Mrs. Simmons will let you take the test after class since you didn't take it yet, thanks to yours truly." Dexter said, gesturing to himself.

Becky blinked.

"Why did you...?" She began.

"Because education is important for all adolescents, even silly girls who steal pencils, why, imagine if anybody ever failed a test? Their life would be ruined! Can you imagine?" Dexter asked, shuddering, "an F on your report card?"

"What? No no! Why'd you let us down!?" Becky clarified.

"Yea? Why'd you let us down when we were mean to you?" Gwen asked, curious as well.

"Oh that? That was nothing. You see, when you're the Greatest, which I am, you help mankind. And mankind includes everybody, right? And well, I'm sure you needed help, and I'm sure you appreciated it! Besides, you would have been made fun of for weeks before anybody let you down, and well..."

Dexter trailed off, considering. They saw sympathy flash through his feature for a split second before vanishing.

"Well, the Greatest helps people, right? And I helped you. Elementary, literally in this case. No need to thank me. Now, I'll be off! There's science to do!"

Becky and Gwen shared a glance as they watched the boy genius walk out the bus.

"Hey, Becky?"

"Yea, Gwen?"

"I'm sorry I said you squealed like a pig." The girl said.

"It's okay. And Qwen?"

"Yea, Becky?"

"We should... Give Dexter a new pencil. As an apology." Becky said.

"Yea, I think we should."
