Balberith has the appearance of a muscular youth around his early twenties with bronze hair.

Balberith was sent back in time by Chronos God of Time. Just before Issei reborn into a devil. And accidentally he changed the future. Rias and Sona recognize that he is a devil immediately. Sona challenged him to a game of chess and lost. Serafall and Sona's parents were shocked when they saw Balberith because they did not know where he came from. Balberith was, in a sense, a new pillar of the underworld.
